[Bug 1929751] [NEW] Resizing a small window prints the bash prompt repeatedly

2021-05-26 Thread Tyler Peterson
Public bug reported:

If when I resize the gnome-terminal window it becomes too narrow to fit
the entire length of the bash prompt, it prints parts of the prompt to
the above line. It should just wrap the portion of the prompt that
exceeds the window width to the next line, but the characters that
precede those wrapped characters end up printed above the actual prompt.
Specifically it begins when the space character following the '$' needs
to wrap to the next line. This print happens every time the window size
changes (either vertically or horizontally) while the window is narrower
than the prompt.

If my window is 100 characters wide and the prompt is 70 characters
long, with the cursor being the 71st character, when I shrink the window
to 70 characters wide, there are two prompt texts, one that I could type
a command on and another above it. If I shrink the window further to 50
characters, I end up with several lines of prompt with increasingly
truncated parts of the prompt. If I expand back to 100 characters, most
of the new lines with be just the 'user@host" portion of the prompt,
with varying truncations.

[Bug 1928458] Re: inconsistent and unneeded password prompts

2021-05-26 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report. Are you using auto-logging? The keyring
needs to be unlocked with a password when you start the session, if you
use password login and the keyring has the same secret then it's
automatically unlocked but otherwise the first software to try to use it
is going to trigger the prompting...

Would mouse click not work?

Which no longer works under Wailance ...

Likewise, I switched to 21.04 .org because the xgamma, Scanning
frequency 120 Hz settings do not work under Wailance.

Re: [Bug 1929557] Re: Ubuntu 21.04 No notification when battery under 10%

2021-05-26 Thread ROCHE
Thanks for your answer.I am on 21.04  Xorg and it's ok
I hope that This  Gamma treatment will appear on The next ubuntu Wayland
version. Especially on The 22.04.

xgamma and xrandr control the 'Xorg' process. There is no Xorg process
in a Wayland session so xgamma and xrandr will not work. That's not a
bug. If you need them then you should log into 'Ubuntu on Xorg' instead.

** Summary changed:

- Ubuntu 21.04  No alarm when Battery under 10%
+ Ubuntu 21.04  No notification when battery under 10%

[Bug 1929557] Re: Ubuntu 21.04 No notification when battery under 10%

2021-05-26 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report, there are some similar problems discussed
on https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-settings-daemon/-/issues/409

Could make it display the battery % and check if the discharge is linear
or doing steps skipping the 10%?

[Bug 1929650] [NEW] Screen doesn't turn off when using Wayland on a Thinkpad E480

2021-05-26 Thread Gabriel Ionescu
Public bug reported:

When the screen of my laptop (Thinkpad E480) is supposed to turn off
(because of inactivity or when actively locking screen), the screen
dims, turns off for a second and then turns back on while remaining
dimmed. I can see the backlight of the screen and the cursor.

This bug is only present when using a wayland-session regardless of my
settings. It also happens with a fresh user account. Additionally, I
tested with the 5.8 and 5.12 kernels with the same result.
