[Bug 1952107] Re: Google Contacts API Deprecated
The issue is fixed with 3.42 in the current Ubuntu serie, I'm working on backporting the change to impish, later series will also need to be fixed ** Description changed: + * Impact + The google contacts integration with the GNOME component will stop working since it relies on an API which is going to be shutdown + + * Testcase + - use evolution + - add a google account + - go the contacts section + + The contacts stored on the google account should be listed, no error + should be displayed + + * Regression potential + The patch changes the google contact backend so any potential issue is likely to be with contacts integration. + + + I opened Evolution today and a red banner appeared on top with the following message: > Failed to connect address book “ : Contacts” > Invalid request URI or header, or unsupported nonstandard parameter: Contacts API is being deprecated. Migrate to People API to retain programmatic access to Google Contacts. See https://developers.google.com/people/contacts-api-migration. I found the upstream bug report for this[0], which references the commit[1] that fixes it. However, that commit is in release 3.42.0, whereas Ubuntu 21.10 currently has 3.40.4-1. Is it possible to backport this commit so that Evolution will continue to work properly? - [0]: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/1658 [1]: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution-data-server/-/commit/d63a1ce3921a6a6c573a6a ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Committed ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released ** Changed in: evolution-data-server (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1952107 Title: Google Contacts API Deprecated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/evolution-data-server/+bug/1952107/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1952468] [NEW] gnome-settings-daemon resetting time zone after network-manager sets it
Public bug reported: I am currently traveling and have observed the time zone being set correctly when I connect to a network and then reset to my home time zone a short while later. Automatic Time Zone is enabled in settings. Logs indicate the reset is coming from /usr/libexec/gsd-datetime. I guess it's not informed of the configuration coming from network- manager? Re: [Bug 1951855] Re: System freezes when Chrome uses >4GB of RAM
Here was the following joke: 1) VNC server doesn't start when I'm on Wayland 2) I'm on Wayland due to a glitch when changing keyboard layouts, when I do it on Xorg it freezes the system ~ 100 ms 3) When I'm on Xorg, the Chrome hang doesn't happen, no matter how I overload it with tabs. -- З повагою, Павло Проценко пт, 26 лист. 2021 о 05:10 Daniel van Vugt <1951...@bugs.launchpad.net> пише: > While the freeze is occurring, please log in remotely and run: > > ps auxw > ps.txt > > and attach the resulting text file here. > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug > report. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1951855 > > Title: > System freezes when Chrome uses >4GB of RAM > > Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: > New > > Bug description: > When I have 10+ tabs > > ProblemType: Bug > DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 > Package: xorg 1:7.7+19ubuntu14 > ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.11.0-40.44~20.04.2-generic 5.11.22 > Uname: Linux 5.11.0-40-generic x86_64 > NonfreeKernelModules: wl > ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.21 > Architecture: amd64 > BootLog: Error: [Errno 13] Відмовлено у доступі: '/var/log/boot.log' > CasperMD5CheckResult: skip > CompizPlugins: No value set for > `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' > CompositorRunning: None > CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME > Date: Mon Nov 22 18:20:04 2021 > DistUpgraded: Fresh install > DistroCodename: focal > DistroVariant: ubuntu > GraphicsCard: >Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller > [8086:0046] (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) > Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Core Processor Integrated Graphics > Controller [103c:146d] > InstallationDate: Installed on 2021-01-18 (308 days ago) > InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Release amd64 > (20200731) > MachineType: Hewlett-Packard HP ProBook 6450b > ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-5.11.0-40-generic > root=UUID=a01fe12d-3bd8-4fdf-ba27-620f6b5b43ec ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 > SourcePackage: xorg > UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) > dmi.bios.date: 09/02/2011 > dmi.bios.release: 15.32 > dmi.bios.vendor: Hewlett-Packard > dmi.bios.version: 68CDE Ver.
