[Bug 1953209] [NEW] ICS imported into GNOME calendar (Google Calendar) with UTC start and end times breaks if you edit it

2021-12-03 Thread Jonathan Kamens
Public bug reported:

1. Your local computer should be in a time zone other than UTC.
2. Save the attached sample.ics to your Desktop.
3. Double-click on it to import it into GNOME Calendar.
4. Save the imported event. Observe that it is saved at the correct time in
your calendar.
5. In GNOME calendar, click on the event and click edit.
6. Expand the start and end time sections and observe that the times next to
"Starts" and "Ends" are the UTC times for the event, while the times in the
time pickers are the correct time in the local time zone.
7. Click the "Done" button without actually changing anything and observe that
the event moves to the incorrect time, interpreting the original UTC times of
the event as local times.

[Bug 1953196] [NEW] gnome-terminal misreads a fediverse identifier as an email

2021-12-03 Thread themusicgod1
Public bug reported:

On the fediverse ( the free software social media network of networks -
https://jointhefedi.com/ ) the identifier format is

@username@hostname

unlike email which is

username@hostname

What happens:

if you have a fediverse user displayed in your terminal, gnome-terminal
deduces that it is an email and if you right click it, you are given the
option to 'Copy Mail Address' and 'Send Mail To' instead of just 'Copy'

What should happen:

You should, instead, be given the option to 'Copy Fedi Address' (and,
better yet, optionally 'Send DM To') instead of just 'Copy'. Possibly
including the 'Copy Mail Address', for backwards compatibility

[Bug 1942242] Re: keyboard repeat rate setting and mouse scroll setting missing in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

2021-12-03 Thread Paul White
Upstream bug:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-control-center/-/issues/79
refers to key repeat settings being hard to find but they are
there under Accessibility | Typing | Repeat Keys

Mouse speed settings are also there with additional options in
the Tweaks application under 'Keyboard & Mouse'

Any requests for options not included should probably be reported
directly to the writers of the software, i.e. the GNOME developers.

2021-12-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Normally, system settings GUI should have a setting, which is not available in
Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. These are:
1. The option to change the keyboard's repeat rate on key press.
2. The option to set the number of lines to scroll on using the mouse wheel and
to set the mouse pointer speed of movement.
Please make these available via the GUI settings.

[Bug 1933996] Re: Alt-tab stops switching windows [JS ERROR: TypeError: window is null _createWindowClone@resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/altTab.js:29:27]

2021-12-03 Thread Hanno
There has been no update to the 40.x branch at
https://salsa.debian.org/gnome-team/mutter/-/commits/upstream/40.x/ a
month since this was fixed and I had hoped that a Debian/Ubuntu team
member would notice it via this bug report.

Here's hoping for a fix in the 21.04 and 21.10 packages.

[Bug 1754687] Re: gnome-shell crashes with meta_monitor_manager_get_logical_monitor_from_number: assertion '(unsigned int) number < g_list_length (manager->logical_monitors)' failed

2021-12-03 Thread bluppfisk
Hello Daniel, coming over here as requested from the other bug
(1952766).

Two questions:

1. How can you tell from that page that the code change has arrived in
40.1? I can only see when it was merged, but am unable to tell whether
this particular fix is in that version.

2. Since I'm on gnome-shell version 40.5, it seems this is either a
regression or the fix has gone somewhere else?

```
~$ gnome-shell --version
GNOME Shell 40.5
```

Upstream seems to show this was fixed, and I can see the fix is in
