[Bug 1973467] [NEW] [nvidia] Screen Blank: External screen is not turned off

2022-05-19 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

In Power -> Power Saving Options -> Screen Blank - the option states
that the screen will be turned off after some period, which is what I'd
expect from a sleep mode.

I have a hybrid system. I have disabled the internal display and I use
the external connected via HDMI (and I believe it is connected to the
NVIDIA GPU). When the screen goes blank the external monitor is not
turned off really. It goes blank but it is still turned on and glows, so
no power is saved.

[Bug 1974054] Re: Without a reason gnome-shell CPU usage gets high

2022-05-19 Thread Daniel van Vugt
The "Protocol error" is bug 1965563.

There's a debug feature you can enable to check for sure how much of the
screen is changing: Add CLUTTER_PAINT=damage-region to /etc/environment.
It will show you what if anything is causing gnome-shell to keep
redrawing.

It just happened again and this time it seems a report has been uploaded:
https://errors.ubuntu.com/oops/f18abe5a-d79a-11ec-9ae6-fa163e55efd0

Disconnected the external monitor, the desktop is visible on the laptop
screen, and two seconds later, the UI session crashes.

The timestamp shown on https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/YOUR_ID is a bit
off, however, there weren't any other incidents so this must be the one.

[Bug 1973813] [NEW] Dock set to hide automatically bug

2022-05-19 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

if Auto-hide is enabled in dock and the dock is at the bottom of the
screen, when you right click an app the dock hides, and altough the menu
won't visually move, at the time you click on something, it instantly
moves to satisfy the distance from the top of the dock (now hidden) and
ends up missing what you actually clicked on and clicking something
else... here is a video from a reddit user:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubuntu/comments/ugvsmk/with_ubuntu_2204_lts_when_the_dock_is_set_to/

[Bug 1878617] Re: Apple pages file type should be added to MIME types

2022-05-19 Thread Sebastien Bacher
The 2.2 version is in kinetic, it would be possible do include the
change in a stable update if it was determined to be important enough
which is unclear at this point since that report was the only report of
the issue so far

2022-05-19 Thread Dave Jones
@Samuel that fix is for PCs which is a different bug (LP: #1971463);
this bug is about totem on the Pi desktop images (or, I'm beginning to
suspect, arm64 more generally).

[Bug 1971415] Re: Remote desktop is automatically enabled after login

2022-05-19 Thread Martin Zurowietz
I have g-c-c 1:41.4-1ubuntu13.2 installed but I'm not sure if the fix
works properly. If I start with Remote Desktop enabled and then disable
it in g-c-c, systemctl reports gnome-remote-desktop.service as "inactive
(dead)". If I log out and in again, g-c-c still has Remote Desktop
disabled (differently to what I originally reported). However, gnome-
remote-desktop.service is now "active (running)" again.

[Bug 1974054] Re: Without a reason gnome-shell CPU usage gets high

2022-05-19 Thread Islam
I have no manually installed extensions and I also removed the above
extensions dir too.

When I launch extension-manager (also cheese FYI) I get:
[3254489.563] wl_display@1.delete_id([3254489.568] wl_display@1.error(nil, 7,
"failed to import supplied dmabufs: Arguments are inconsistent (for example, a
valid context requires buffers not supplied by a ")
42)
Gdk-Message: 12:22:58.093: Error flushing display: Protocol error

Kindly note that the Brave browser is taking just 0.7%, there is nothing
changing on the screen; and also when it happened, I closed all opened
apps and CPU usage for gnome-shell was the same.

[Bug 1973802] Re: Gnome Shell crashes when disconnecting external monitor

2022-05-19 Thread Daniel van Vugt
If you don't get any results in https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/YOUR_ID
then either:

 * Wait. Because that page does report no results initially and then
quietly refreshes after a few seconds

 * Remove any .upload files from /var/crash and then you might have more
success uploading it again using either 'ubuntu-bug' or 'apport-cli'.

But I know the aforementioned tools can be unreliable sometimes. If you
suspect the tools are buggy then please report a bug in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+filebug

2022-05-19 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I use 3 monitors. When I turn two of then off and on, the "memory usage"
shown by nvidia-smi grows by approximately 400 MB each cycle. When used
video memory reaches maximum my card has (it ix GTX 970 with 4GB) the
graphical system sort of crashes (desktop is not shown, one of the

This occurs only under Wayland.
