[Bug 1986850] Re: Manual proxy is partially cleared on 20.04 => 22.04 upgrade
Possibly the 20.04.4 live system is also involved, because to my knowledge setting a proxy via Settings/Network does not normally make any changes to /etc/apt/apt.conf (i.e. you are not prompted for a sudo password after setting a manual proxy in Settings/Network). So I'm guessing the 20.04.4 live system made the apt.conf change since apt requires it. (Note: some earlier versions of Ubuntu live systems did not make the apt.conf change automatically; we had to do it manually whenever we had to use proxies.) In any case, whatever cleared the manual proxy setting from both user accounts ideally shouldn't do that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1986850 Title: Manual proxy is partially cleared on 20.04 => 22.04 upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1986850/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I don't believe this is related to any ubuntu-release-upgrader logic. [Bug 1986850] [NEW] Manual proxy is partially cleared on 20.04 => 22.04 upgrade
You have been subscribed to a public bug: We installed 20.04.4 on a wiped SSD using the live USB stick after entering the credentials for our WLAN. We set a manual proxy via Settings/Network before doing the installation. After the system came up, we set up a second user account, and set a manual proxy via Settings/Network in that account also. We made no changes to /etc/apt/apt.conf. We installed openssh-server as well as aptitude and updated the system, rebooted, then connected to the system over ssh, ran screen and do- release-upgrade. The system upgraded normally to 22.04.1. After we rebooted we noticed that the manual proxy setting had been cleared from both user accounts (was disabled in Settings/Network) which was not desirable. However we noticed that aptitude was still making proxy requests, because /etc/apt/apt.conf contained a manual proxy setting: Acquire::http::Proxy "http://proxy.x.com:x/;; So this is inconsistent. Ideally the proxy settings should not have been cleared from both user accounts. But if that is to be the case, it should have also been removed from /etc/apt/apt.conf. ** Affects: ubuntu-release-upgrader Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: live proxy squid system upgrade -- Manual proxy is partially cleared on 20.04 => 22.04 upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1986850 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1988339] [NEW] Ubuntu doesn't change the keyboard layout
Public bug reported: If you have more then 2 layouts then often after restart Ubuntu don't switch layouts. I started to see this problem maybe after Ubuntu 20.10(?) The problem have roots in the installation process. 3 weeks back I reinstalled Ubuntu Budgie. I choose German layout what was qwertZ. qwertZ is crazy uncomfortable if you migrate from English qwertY layout. So I replaced it with Germany qwertY. Now I have (1)English, (2)Russian, (3)German qwertY . But every second time I restart the laptop I get German qwertZ! Here is stackoverflow questions from other users https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/627270/ubuntu-doesnt-change-the-keyboard-layout A workaround that I found is to open the Region & Language settings and change the order of the Input Sources. This workaround is temporary, so next time it happens I need to do that again (in my case is changing the order of 2 layouts in EN->RU placeholder simply by drag and drop and when it happens again, switch back RU->EN, so I guess the order itself doesn't matter). [Bug 1976623] Re: SRU for evolution 3.44.4
Sorry, I got confused in the sea of version numbers, so my previous comment is off the mark in its assumptions. It seems we didn't land any Jammy SRU for 3.44.2 onwards since the one in jammy-updates is 3.44.1-0ubuntu1. Since adding a GMail account does work for me in 3.44.1-0ubuntu1, it is a regression indeed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1976623 Title: SRU for evolution 3.44.4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/1976623/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1976623] Re: SRU for evolution 3.44.4
Yes Chris, those were my observations for the 3.44.3 SRU. The bug has since been updated into a 3.44.4 SRU, and it seems it already landed in jammy-updates, so it's already fix released? Adding a GMail account does work for me in 3.44.1-0ubuntu1. [Bug 1988301] [NEW] Does not implement data-ciphers, only cipher which OpenVPN 2.5+ ignores, hence can fail to connect
Public bug reported: It's no longer possible to use the cipher option in NetworkManager as it's ignored by OpenVPN; and the default list of data-ciphers is applied, making it impossible to connect to an AES-128-CBC endpoint from NetworkManager.
