[Bug 1996652] Re: Nautilus search is slow and jumbles keyboard input on 22.10

2023-03-17 Thread J Chapman
Same here Acer Aspire black edition running 22.10, the search facility in
nautilus is extremely slow particularly when you enter the second symbol/letter
of the search string.
sometime it works as it should but most of the time it just sits and spins for
a few minutes.
Any ideas what we can do to get it working?

Ok, easy...

We are not installing by default libgtk-4-media-gstreamer :(

That is not a g-c-c dependency as it should, nor is in main, so we'd
need to include it?!

[Bug 1989477] Re: Switching to dark mode in settings does not change shell theme.

2023-03-17 Thread Luis Alvarado
Hi Daniel, issue not yet working I am afraid. If I select the theme on
the installation or change it from the settings, it does not change to
dark mode. Nor does it stay there on 22.10 when suddenly it would go
back to white or have of the theme would go back to white.

I see what you mean, g-c-c should probably provide the "back" button to

That's an upstream change, I'd suggest to open an issue at

[Bug 2011729] Re: Rider for tools has disappeared

2023-03-17 Thread Erich Eickmeyer
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We understand the difficulties you
are facing, but it is better to raise problems you are having in the
support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are
uncertain if they are bugs. If you would prefer live chat support, you
can find an IRC support channel for your flavor of Ubuntu here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IRC/ChannelList. You can also find help with
your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community
http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or
https://ubuntuforums.org. For help on reporting bugs, see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu

to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security

[Bug 2011801] Re: gdm3 crashes after installing the 'fuse' package

2023-03-17 Thread Ronzo
Apport seems not to have uploaded the .crash-File. I cannot specify it
as an option when trying to update a report. The "-c" option on apport-
cli seems only to work when filing new bugs.

[Bug 2011803] Re: Team Fortress 2 blinks in fullscreen

2023-03-17 Thread RocketRide
Thanks it helped to make recording more accurate, but looks like you
think my problem is related to recording software. This bug also happens
without any screen recorders and with disabled extensions. When i open
the game it starts blinking like it repeatedly enters windowed mode and
then instantly enters fullscreen mode. I will attach new screencast made
after executing `Meta.disable_unredirect_for_display(global.display)` in
lg.

[Bug 2012043] [NEW] [lunar] New g-c-c makes display config painful

2023-03-17 Thread Francois Thirioux
Public bug reported:

Hi,

Jammy : I can change some elements (frequency, positioning, etc.) THEN apply.
Lunar : I have to change displays config and positioning by applying on every
element change (1st display, 2nd display, positioning).

Not a big deal but imo it should be cool to allow users to globally
apply their changes in display config, as before.

[Bug 2012034] [NEW] [lunar] Odd switches behavior in Ubuntu Desktop tab (g-c-c 44 rc)

2023-03-17 Thread Francois Thirioux
Public bug reported:

Hi,

0) all 3 Ubuntu extensions disabled
1) open g-c-c (44rc)
2) go to Ubuntu Desktop tab
3) I see only a (new) switch (off) for "Tiling Assistant"
4) I do not see any other switch for Dock nor Icons
5) turn on the Tiling switch
6) 2 other switches appear for the Dock and Icons parts
7) odd! :-)

Should be great to always see these 3 very convenient switches.

[Bug 2011803] Re: Team Fortress 2 blinks in fullscreen

2023-03-17 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks. I can see two issues there:

1. https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/2610

2. Some unsupported extensions are showing bugs in the log:
   /home/dell/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/quick-settings-tweaks@qwreey
   /home/dell/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/espre...@coadmunkee.github.com

So possible workarounds to those are:

1. Make rendering slower but more friendly to OBS Studio:

   Alt+F2, lg, Meta.disable_unredirect_for_display(global.display)

or simply disable/remove OBS Studio, or whatever is recording the
screen.

2. Delete the buggy extensions:

   cd /home/dell/.local/share/gnome-shell/
   rm -rf extensions

   and then log in again.
