[Bug 1979312] Re: Shotwell 0.31

2023-05-01 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
** Description changed:

- As of June 2022, there is a Shotwell 0.31 series in development on the
- way to Shotwell 0.32. However, there is no plan for a Shotwell 0.32
- release in the immediate future.
+ New stable version - Shotwell 0.32 released 2023-04-22 , see

- If we need a feature from Shotwell 0.31, we should probably just
- backport it instead of packaging the new version.

- I'm just filing this bug for more visible status tracking.
+ Please update shotwell before Ubuntu 23.10 Feature freeze.
+
+ Lots of important features and bugfixes, for example:
+ * Support HiDPI for photo viewer and tools
+ * Support HEIF/HEVC, AVIF, MXF, Webp files

** Summary changed:

- Shotwell 0.31
+ Shotwell 0.32 released 2023-04-22, please update Ubuntu package

[Bug 1779890] Re: gvfsd process does not have the KRB5CCNAME environment set

2023-05-01 Thread Heitor Alves de Siqueira
Hi folks,

thank you for the hard work on this bug! I've tested out the debdiff for
Jammy, and unfortunately it seems we're still missing some pieces. A
fresh install with the fixed version looks ok, but when upgrading from
the previous version, I can still see the old link under
default.target.wants/:

root@halves-jammy-tm:~# dpkg -l | grep tracker-ext
ii tracker-extract3.3.0-1ubuntu1
amd64metadata database, indexer and search tool - metadata extractors

root@halves-jammy-tm:~# ls -l /etc/systemd/user/default.target.wants/
total 0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 47 May  1 14:32 tracker-extract-3.service ->
/usr/lib/systemd/user/tracker-extract-3.service

We should include a proper cleanup step for the upgrade path for all
debdiffs, as the other releases will probably present the same issue.

[Bug 2017956] Re: Display Server Preference Icon does not show up in gdm3.

2023-05-01 Thread Daniel van Vugt
The icon is not displayed in cases where the system can only determine
one session type. So offering a menu with only one option would be
pointless. If you think this is an error then please run:

  lspci -k > lspci.txt
  journalctl -b0 > journal.txt

and attach the resulting text files here.
