[Bug 879513] Re: nautilus keeps active window status when it shouldn't
Ok, so I have been able to come up with a use case that always reproduces the bug for me. It seems I left out a critical piece of information. You must already have gedit open with another file. ** Description changed: Expected behaviour: + - Open gedit so that it is active on your workspace (my tests show no opened file is needed but gedit needs to already be open) - In the folder window press enter to open a text document - Wait for gedit to go full screen - The active window should now be gedit, press ctrl+f to search for text and perform over keyboard commands on gedit Actual Behaviour: Nautilus keeps the active window status even though gedit may be completely full screen. Any key commands pressed go to nautilus even though the window it hiding behind the now full screen application. gedit is just the example, it could be any application not opened with the mouse. It seems that because no mouse input is received the new window whatever it may be never becomes the active window. This is wrong, the application that is launched by pressing the enter button should also become active not just for mouse clickers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879513 Title: nautilus keeps active window status when it shouldn't To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/879513/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 875156] [NEW] Navigating with just keyboard commands is broken
Public bug reported: When typing the name of a file with the in window searcher thing (see attached screenshot, I have no idea what this is called) it no longer works properly. Expected behaviour is that: 1) You open a new folder window 2) Start typing the name of a file or folder in that directory 3) You press enter to traverse your file system 4) repeat step 2 What I am getting is that after I begin typing the searcher tool disappears and stops functioning or it will work once then after I go into a new directory stops working then. Not only this but the text seems to stay there when I use it after moving to a new directory so you might type something like go and enter to select the folder named 'good' and enter it, however when you attempt to type 'bad', you will end up with gobad in the searcher textbox because the window didn't wipe out the go text upon entering the next window. [Bug 669825] Re: evince-thumbnailer doesn't save outside of /home directory
I feel like you're kind of missing my point. It's not that the app armor profile is wrong, it's that evince never gives you any indication of what's wrong or that there is even a problem happening. Think about another user running this outside via command line, how are they suppose to know it's app armor causing a problem if there is no error message of any kind? There isn't even an error message when a thumbnail can not be saved. In the interests of anyone that comes across this bug with the same issue.. Is this simply not the program to be used for generating thumbnails via command line? I had a look around but this one seems quite good in my opinion since it generates thumbnails for movies, pdfs and other things. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/669825 Title: evince-thumbnailer doesn't save outside of /home directory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/669825/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 545899] [NEW] Can not add desktop URL locations to the main gnome menu
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel I ran into a problem today on all distributions from Hardy up to the latest version of Ubuntu including 10.04 beta. You can test this by creating the following file in /usr/share/applications/test.desktop Insert the information below to the file.. [Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Type=Link Name=Load Google URL=www.google.com Categories=GNOME;GTK;Utility; It should then appear in the menu under Applications - Accessories however it doesn't. desktop files with Type=Application however do appear in the menu as expected. You can test this by changing our test.desktop file like so.. [Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Type=Application Name=Load Google Exec=/etc/alternatives/x-www-browser www.google.com Categories=GNOME;GTK;Utility; The latter example is the only work around I can find. [Bug 476471] Re: gnome-panel doesn't let me add locations
I just tested this in Ubuntu 10.04 Beta and it's still the same issue (surprise surprise) as with every other version of ubuntu. Trying the first example I gave before doesn't work. Trying the second example I gave before does work (the same as every other version of ubuntu). I've attempted to look at fixing this issue myself however gnome panel source code documentation is a mess. The README file tells me to look at a non-existant INSTALL file. The GnomePanel web page links to a lot of non-existent web pages and has no helpful information at all. -- gnome-panel doesn't let me add locations https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/476471 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 476471] Re: gnome-panel doesn't let me add locations
This bug is more then a problem with the menu editor program. Adding .desktop files to /usr/share/applications isn't working. [Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Type=Application Name=Load Google Exec=/etc/alternatives/x-www-browser www.google.com Categories=GNOME;GTK;Utility; The latter example is the only work around I can find however this is definitely broken in gnome-panel and has been for a long time now. -- gnome-panel doesn't let me add locations https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/476471 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 476471] Re: gnome-panel doesn't let me add locations
I ran into this problem today on all distributions from Hardy up to the latest version of Ubuntu. Please could you put a higher priority on fixing this as it is a part from the free desktop spec. http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ Could you also suggest an alternative to opening a file://somepath/index.html link in the default web browser as I know you will never fix this in older versions of Ubuntu that I have to support. -- gnome-panel doesn't let me add locations https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/476471 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
