[Bug 159227] Re: Adding workspaces in Workspace Switcher does not effect Keybord Shortcuts
I can also confirm this bug on a fresh install of Gutsy with packages up-to-date as of 12/11/2007. Adding workspaces through Workspace Switcher does not cause the appropriate shortcuts to be added to the Keyboard Shortcuts manager. The shortcuts do work when added manually using gconf-editor. ** Changed in: metacity (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None = metacity -- Adding workspaces in Workspace Switcher does not effect Keybord Shortcuts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/159227 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for metacity in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 176195] escape key keyboard shortcuts do not work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: metacity Steps to reproduce: 1.) Open the Keyboard Shortcuts application from the System-Preferences menu. 2.) Choose some window-related action, such as Close window. 3.) Change the shortcut to one that uses the escape key: Alt+Escape, Control+Escape, or Shift+Escape. 4.) Switch to another window and attempt to use the shortcut. Observed result: a small focus shift occurs, but the desired action does not. Expected result: the desired window action (such as Close window). Ubuntu version: Gutsy. [Bug 176195] Re: escape key keyboard shortcuts do not work
If Alt+Escape (or Control+ or Shift+) is already bound, then it's not listed in the Keyboard Shortcuts application (which also typically prevents you from binding multiple actions to the same shortcut), and it's not bound to a visible action---nothing seems to occurs when I press any of these shortcuts. I didn't find anything binding escape looking at the compiz options (/apps/compiz/general/*/options) or metacity options using gconf-editor, but it's possible I missed something. Visual Effects are set to Normal. -- escape key keyboard shortcuts do not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/176195 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for metacity in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 76388] windows don't move across workspaces
Public bug reported: Before Edgy, a simple and intuitive way to move windows across workspaces was to use the drag window key (alt, by default), click on the window to drag it, and then switch workspaces (with the move to workspace N shortcut, in my case alt-FN), bringing the window along with the workspace switch. In Edgy, the workspace switch doesn't happen if you are dragging a window, breaking this (useful and expected) behavior. ** Affects: metacity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- windows don't move across workspaces https://launchpad.net/bugs/76388 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
