[Bug 506611] Re: empathy irc room option is greyed out

2015-05-17 Thread Eduard Urbach
Funny, it's 2015 and I'm getting this old bug in Empathy 3.12.9.
I successfully connected to the IRC server but the channel join option is
grayed out.

[Bug 106822] Re: Nautilus Changes file type wrongly

2008-03-18 Thread Eduard Urbach
I can confirm the bug (Gutsy).

I have a c++ header file and nautilus displays the right file type but if I
click on the file nautilus says it is a HTML document.
Opening the file with gedit results in a false highlighting mode because it
assumes it is a HTML document.
I can't open the file with a double-click because nautilus says it is a html
document with a .hpp file extension and that it may be a security problem.

[Bug 197143] Re: Improve System Log Viewer

2008-03-18 Thread Eduard Urbach
I agree with you but as the messages are application-dependent this is not an
easy task.
I think a generic solution isn't possible (?) but one could search for error
messages like not found or warning.

[Bug 146871] Re: gconf-editor lost configuration

2007-10-25 Thread Eduard Urbach
I have the same problem.

the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem
The only thing I've done the last time was the installation of scratchbox:
http://www.scratchbox.org/
But I don't think that this is relevant for this bug.

the behavior you expected
I expected a normal login screen.

the behavior you actually encountered
The first thing I saw were the error messages as one can see in the attachment.
Afterwards I clicked on the 'Computer' symbol, changed to /usr/bin/, opened the
xterm, started gconf-editor and saw that the whole configuration was deleted.
I compiled and started the wlan driver RT73_Linux_STA_Drv1.0.4.0 with the net
interface rausb0 - because the standard driver of Ubuntu has never worked with
my wlan device. Then I started Firefox to post a new bug report and saw that
this bug already exists in this database.

$ LANGUAGE=C gconftool-2 --spawn
Failed to spawn the config server (gconfd): Failed to contact configuration
server; some possible causes are that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for
ORBit, or you have stale NFS locks due to a system crash. See
http://www.gnome.org/projects/gconf/ for information. (Details - 1: IOR file
'/tmp/gconfd-eduard/lock/ior' not opened successfully, no gconfd located: No
such file or directory 2: IOR file '/tmp/gconfd-eduard/lock/ior' not opened
successfully, no gconfd located: No such file or directory)

$ ps jaxwww | grep gconf

Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 (Gnome)
Linux version 2.6.22-14-generic

Sorry for my bad english, I like Ubuntu but if this bug can't be fixed I
have to reinstall it or install Windows *hopefully not*

[Bug 146871] Re: gconf-editor lost configuration

2007-10-25 Thread Eduard Urbach
I'm not sure if anyone actually cares about this bug but I restored my
configuration with this procedure:

cd /tmp/
mkdir disabled
sudo mv orbit-* disabled/
sudo mv gconfd-* disabled/
gconftool-2 --spawn
gconfd-1 #optional?
reboot

Now everything works fine.
