[Bug 1633826] Re: nautilus desktop crashes when called with --no-desktop

2017-03-16 Thread Giovanni Premuda
Same here on 17.04. I cannot actually use the Dropbox icon from the indicator
panel as it doesn't display a menu, but rubbing nautilus --no-desktop open a
single nautilus window but kills the desktop.
If I subsequently run nautilus from Alt-F2 I get:

(nautilus:5292): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **:
g_dbus_interface_skeleton_unexport: assertion
'interface_->priv->connections != NULL' failed

(nautilus:5292): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **:
g_dbus_interface_skeleton_unexport: assertion
'interface_->priv->connections != NULL' failed

but a nautilus window gets opened, again without desktop. When I close
it and run nautilus again from Alt-F2 the Desktop reappears

[Bug 1022660] Re: Cannot see recent pictures on my Library

2012-08-15 Thread Giovanni Mellini
Hi Clint,
after your comment I did some investigation. First of all I can confirm I have
no filter applied on my library.

After some test I found that the problem with missing pictures on my library is
a picture ordering problem (should we change the title of the bug?)
In fact I noticed that last imported pictures are at the bottom of the library
while these pictures should be at top (I have pictures ordered by date, desc).

So the situation now (I can always reproduce this) is:
My library starts with a picture from 15 Jul 2012 and I have all the pictures
well ordered until 3 Sept 2004
After these pictures I have some pictures with no date at all (don't ask me why
:) ) then 6 videos imported from an iPhone with date 1 Jan 1904 (unix date I
think) and then I have my last imported pictures (the missing ones) from 31 Jul
2012 and (strange again) a lot of videos from 2012, 2011 and 2010 (ordered).

Some more info.
If I press F8 while watching my library and then I click the Video type button
filter for 2 times, then the library become well ordered.
If I press F8 and then click 2 times Pictures type button filter the library
remains unordered (same if I press raw type button)

So the hint to have my library well ordered is to press the Video button filter
2 times.
One more problem: after this action pictures with date 1 Jan 1904 are displayed
before pictures with date 31 Jul 2012 and this is wrong.

Hope this help, I can add more info if you ask me.
Tks
Giovanni

[Bug 1022660] [NEW] Cannot see recent pictures on my Library

2012-07-09 Thread Giovanni Mellini
Public bug reported:

Hi
I hope I can explain my problem.
I have Shotwell 0.12.3 installed in an up-to-date 12.04 Ubuntu install.
I noticed since last import that I have missing pictures in my Lybrary section.
I cannot see some of the most recent pictures.
These pictures are well imported and with the right date and I can browse from
the Events tree.

Don't know how I can help debugging.
Tks in advance

[Bug 645862] Re: Import problem log incomplete

2012-03-12 Thread Giovanni Mellini
I got this error while moving my pictures to a brand new installation of
Precise (Shotwell 0.11.93-0ubuntu2).
I just copied my whole library (11940 pictures/movies, 34,6 GB total) in the
Images directory and started Shotwell.
I said to import the Images directory and I got a similar report from Shotwell.

Now I cannot see which file are missing and I cannot import it anymore.
Can anyone help??

[Bug 645862] Re: Import problem log incomplete

2012-03-12 Thread Giovanni Mellini
Tks Laura.
I finnaly imported all my pictures. I discovered launching shotwell via command
line
 SHOTWELL_LOG=1 shotwell
that the images not imported give me the error Unable to perform MD5 checksum
on file. It was a problem with the local copy of these files. I copied it
again, import and now is ok.
I think is useful for users to hare a more accurated report of which files are
not imported, and a detail of why these files are not imported

Tks

[Bug 916595] [NEW] Screen brightness increases by itself

2012-01-14 Thread Giovanni Pardini
Public bug reported:

If I decrease the screen brightness using the Fn-F5 key to the lowest level,
after a few seconds of inactivity (without touching the keyboard nor the
touchpad) the screen brightness goes up automatically to a medium level.
Then, as soon as I move the pointer, the brightness is increased to the maximum
level.

From this point on, the screen brighness alternates automatically
between medium/maximum level. That is, it decreases when idle, and
increases when using the keyboard or mouse.

The expected behaviour is that brightness does not change by itself once
set using the Fn keys.

This bug happens when on battery power.
I didn't try on AC power.

Re: [Bug 192457] Enigma

2010-03-31 Thread Giovanni Putignano
 Enigma

 Olhe para as contas abaixo.

Dizem que apenas pessoas com QI acima de 120 conseguem decifrar a
 sequencia.

 Prove o contrário! (rsrsrs)

 Se

 2 + 3 = 10
 7 + 2 = 63
 6 + 5 = 66
 8 + 4 = 96
 3 + 5 =
 Então:

 9 + 7 =

First I fount this solution: (x^2 + y^2)*(x-y)*y that is the same that:
(x+y)*x as I then found in a blog.

[Bug 499299] [NEW] Password protected zip file creation gives E_INVALIDARG p7zip error

2009-12-21 Thread Giovanni (aka Vanni) Totaro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: file-roller

Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala

file-roller 2.28.1-0ubuntu1
p7zip 9.04~dfsg.1-1
p7zip-full 9.04~dfsg.1-1

Steps to reproduce the problem:
- create a folder;
- create an empty file into that folder;
- compress the folder as .7z with password AND files list encryption;
- compress the same folder as .zip with password (in grey you can see the
checkbox of files list encryption still selected).

Error:
7-Zip 9.04 beta Copyright (c) 1999-2009 Igor Pavlov 2009-05-30
p7zip Version 9.04 (locale=it_IT.UTF-8,Utf16=on,HugeFiles=on,1 CPU)
Scanning
Creating archive zip
System error:
E_INVALIDARG

My hints for you:
- p7zip parameter to encrypt files list is not valid for zip files;
- compression parameters need to be reset after every file format change.

Workaround:
- compress as .7z with password and WITHOUT files list encryption, then
compress as .zip with password.

[Bug 439367] [NEW] iTunes Music Shares (DAAP) not loadable on Rhythmbox

2009-09-30 Thread Gionn (Giovanni Toraldo)
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

DAAP is working (I am happiy using mt-daapd for broadcasting my music),
but If a Mac computer will share his own library, rhythmbox can't
download the music list, but I can see the machine on my left sidebar.

If the problem isn't easily fixable, please at least disable the auto-

[Bug 403130] Re: All my desktop icons were rearranged

2009-09-27 Thread Giovanni Bortolozzo
As you can see in the attached screenshots, the position of all the link
icons are resetted on a new login (I don't know if their positions
weren't saved on the log out). All but the video link (on the bottom
left) just because this is a broken link (it points to a directory in a
filesystem the must be manually mounted after the boot).

Instead all the normal files and directory keep their chosen position.

[Bug 403130] Re: All my desktop icons were rearranged

2009-09-26 Thread Giovanni Bortolozzo
A similar bug also affect me: every time I log in the icons on the
desktop are rearranged.

Or better just the icons that correspond a link... the normal files and
directory and the Home, Computer and Trash folders keep their position.

I have a Karmic updated to the latest avaiable.

[Bug 12765] Re: Use full resolution thumbnails on desktop

2009-06-08 Thread Giovanni Bajo
This is not correct. Upstream reports that this bug is fixed only for
images, because Nautilus has an internal fast-path for images. This
Ubuntu report, instead, is about thumbnails (as generated by
thumbnailers). For thumbnails, the bug is not fixed.

You can verify it by using a latest Ubuntu, zooming a file view as much
as you want, and look for instance at a PDF preview. You will clearly
see that it is being scaled up because it is all blurry.

[Bug 349312] Re: Evolution 2.26 does not support import of outlook .pst

2009-05-26 Thread Giovanni Mellini
Hi all,
I think is very important to have this feature in Jaunty and I hope someone can
work to add it.

At work I'm switching to Ubuntu from WinXP; the last think to do is to
delete my XP Virtualbox machine that I use only to open Outlook emai
client

+1

Regards,
Giovanni
