[Bug 287689] Re: gthumb --import-photos doesn't work in intrepid without intervention

2010-04-25 Thread Jeremy Austin-Bardo
I thought I would add my 2 cents to this frustrating mess called
gphoto2. Like many others I have suffered through many releases with
broken digital camera import support. In Lucid. I cannot even gphoto2 -l
or gphoto2 -P my photos! Which I used to do most of the time under
Karmic. I have gone through the suggestion in the bug reports to see if
anything would work and nothing has thus far to rid the Locked Device
on Lucid.

I have a Kodak DX7590... both gphoto2 --auto-detect, lsusb, and gnome-
devices recognize the device. I notice though that there is no folder
within /.gvfs to indicate the camera was mounted... this is proven by
the fact that gvfs-mount - u complain Error finding enclosing mount:
Containing mount does not exist

I am at a loss as to how Canonical or Upstreams would let this drag out
over so many releases.

[Bug 458467] [NEW] WARNING: Unhandled message: interface=org.freedesktop.DBus.Introspectable, path=/, member=Introspect

2009-10-22 Thread Jeremy Austin-Bardo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

I have encountered this error multiple times when running Epiphany-Browser from
the terminal which locks up the browser.
1. Viewing the sidebar extension
2. Loading an xml page from the local filesystem
These are severe regressions IMHO that should be fixed before release! I have
also noticed similar errors in other applications' bugs as well. Makes me
wonder about what is different about the Ubuntu setup at this time, especially
when search hits only point to Launchpad.

[Bug 457647] [NEW] Sytem Monitor is unusable to check or stop running process

2009-10-21 Thread Jeremy Austin-Bardo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor

I frequently use system monitor check running processes and stop
processes that have stalled or zombified. I cannot do this in Karmic due
to that fact that it itself stalls and appears to zombify when I try to
scroll the list of running processes. I expect System Monitor to
function as before or this really is one of the more severe regressions
I have discovered to date!

[Bug 348679] [NEW] Evince Pdf rendering leaves artifacts

2009-03-25 Thread Jeremy Austin-Bardo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

I have noticed that a pdf I created from an Intrepid Inkscape svg file
has had troubles rendering correctly in Intrepid Evince. The graphic
logo I created has white lines in it. I double checked this on Adobe
Acrobat 8 for linux and found no lines. I have also tested this with
Jaunty and Hardy Evince with similar white lines. I assume this MUST be
an uncaught bug in Evince as it relates to rendering these types of
corner pdf content. I also surveyed the Inkscape bugs on Launchpad and
found none that addressed my issue.
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/186696 while it mentions rendering
it does not seem to fit here.

Open the attached file in any Evince and you will see lines across the
document where it should be smooth gradients.

2007-05-25 Thread Jeremy Austin-Bardo
I will have to look around... to see have I have the page. I can say it
happened on a yahoo mail site with print preview and smileys in the
text. Give me a few more days to find it.
