[Bug 1958435] [NEW] Icons on Dock get stuck in Dragging Mode

2022-01-19 Thread Jose S
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS
Release:18.04

$ apt-cache policy gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock

What I expect to happen:
When I drag an icon on the Dock, I expect the dragging to finish once I release
the mouse.

What happened instead:
The icon gets stuck in dragging mode. When my mouse clicks on the icon that was
previously dragged, the icon gets stuck to the mouse cursor as if I were
dragging it.

[Bug 1715435] Re: Can't lock screen when using lightdm with gnome-shell

2021-06-08 Thread Jose
I managed to fix it in the following way:

1. Install dconf-editor (to edit the "registry keys")
sudo apt install dconf-editor

2. Open dconf-editor as a normal app; search for:
/org/gnome/desktop/lockdown/

3. In my case, the disable-lock-screen was set turned on. I turned it
off and everything now works fine!

[Bug 1851992] Re: Lock screen not locking upon resume (org.gnome.desktop.lockdown disable-lock-screen set to true for some reason)

2021-06-07 Thread Jose
Hi, I am facing this same issue. In order to not have a duplicate of the
issue, I am reporting it as a comment under the very same bug.

I have tried the following:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.lockdown disable-lock-screen true

But it is still not working.
What can I do in this case?
I am on Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS

[Bug 1866088] Re: Problems with the Dock setting of "Show on" in the Appearance tab

2020-05-14 Thread Jose Lopez
I just updated to 1:3.36.2-0ubuntu1 and the monitors are still in the wrong
place. Monitor 1 is monitor 2 and viceversa.
The only thing that was fixed is that the dock does not show permanently on
both monitors.

[Bug 1877854] [NEW] Ubuntu 20.04. Appearance > Dock setting fails with 2 monitors. Shows on both.

2020-05-10 Thread Jose Lopez
Public bug reported:

Environment

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
package: gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock/focal,focal,now 67ubuntu20.04.5
Number of monitors: 2

Background
--
I upgraded from 18.04 to 20.04 after the official launch date. The dock also
didn't work properly on 18.04 with two monitors. You had to select the wrong
monitor to have the dock on the side you really wanted.

What I expect to happen
---
I expect to have the dock on the monitor I choose.

What really happens

Now focusing on 20.04 which is my current version. When I first installed it,
the Dock was showing on one side but after changing the initial setting just
for the sake of testing, the dock shows always on both monitors no matter what
setting I choose.

but only in mutter 3.36.2 (which is not in Ubuntu 20.04 yet). Please,
see #93 and https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/1113.

Then I have another problem, I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 daily build with
mutter-common 3.35.91-1ubuntu1. Unfortunately, I'm still finding a
similar issue.

Right now, I cannot copy from Clipboard Indicator extension to geany
text editor and I cannot copy and paste properly in WPS office editor.
Is someone also finding this issue?

2018-04-16 Thread Jose Rosal
Hello Jeroen, thanks for your response, but it does not work for me.

When I start my Ubuntu with wyland, and it happens since 17.10, some
applications like vokoscreen, touchpad indicator does not work.

Vokoscreen does not capture video (yes for audio), and touchpad
indicator does not start.

Thanks in advance for your time.

[Bug 1689825] Re: gnome-keyring not unlocked on boot

2017-07-18 Thread jose
I've not tried it yet, but I'm sure that uninstalling dbus-user-session
works as a workaround. what concerns me is what consequences will this
have. I checked 16.10 and 17.04 and both have dbus-user-session
installed by default. When I install chrome I don't seem to get the same
issues. I haven't installed flatpak to see if that recreates the problem
on 17. So how does removing dbus-user-session solve this problem?

2016-04-20 Thread Jose Sanchez-Seco
Solve for me. Remember I'm using evolution-mapi.

Found this bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1327072

Applied workaround (rename ntlm_auth or apt-get remove winbind) and it
works!

It's not the definitive solution, but at least I can use Evolution like
yesterday morning...

[Bug 1404393] [NEW] Slowdown loading a Pdf file

2014-12-19 Thread Jose Gómez
Public bug reported:

Evince freezes while loading the second page onwars of this document:
http://www.hotmobile.org/2012/papers/HotMobile12-final72.pdf

With an earlier version of evince, this document used to crash evince
and use a substantial amount of CPU and RAM
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1129430), but
that issue seems to be (at least partially) solved now. There is no
crash now, just the slowdown.

For reference, the same slowdown is happening with Okular (0.20.0).

[Bug 371618]

2014-03-07 Thread Jose-aliste-m
(In reply to comment #8)
It's more than calculations and such; I've encountered a document that has a
helpscreen overlay that you are supposed to click on to make the box go
away when you're done reading it. But since it is apparently using
javascript to do it, you cannot get rid of the box, which covers a majority
of the page, and tehrefore cannot fill out the fields. So no, not an
enhancement, definitely a bug, since the document is completely unusable
 without the JS support.

 https://apps.health.ny.gov/doh2/applinks/accessny//forms/DOHAccessNyMainForm.
 pdf

Actually this files has something like this AA /D /S/Hide /T(Help1)
so when clicking on the help widget, it should go away. So at least this is NOT
related to our lack of javascript but two bugs in poppler. One is that we don't
support Hide actions and the other is that the glib frontend does not support
additional actions... these two should be filed as different bugs (and I will
do so later)

(the file is 3.5M, so too large to attach here).

[Bug 498760] Re: Most options are disabled in the context menu.

2012-07-09 Thread Jose Luis Tirado
I am experiencing this bug in Ubuntu 12.04, and I hadn't notice in any
previous versions (I'm using Ubuntu since 7.04). I don't know what to do
to force the error, but seems to be relating to the use of the two
panels in Nautilus. The error happens quite often and once it does
remains until I restart Nautilus.

I have this problem in two different computers (laptop and netbook), so
I think it's quite strange that no more people had reported so far. By
the way, my system language is Spanish (maybe this could affect).

I'm using GNOME nautilus 3.4.2.

[Bug 996717] Re: Color from gnome-control-center does nothing when pressed Calibrate button

2012-07-08 Thread Jose Luis Tirado
Just in case this could help when I try to manually get information on
the calibration device using colormgr I get the following error:

txelu@txelu-acer:~$ sudo colormgr get-sensors

(colormgr:3025): Cd-WARNING **: Failed to lock sensor: Failed to Lock:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.ColorManager.Failed: cannot lock non-native

So I can see the system correctly identifies my calibration device as a
i1_pro but it has no access to it...

[Bug 145704] Re: Same tooltip on both workspaces when using Gnome Classic

2012-06-17 Thread edu jose
Hi Chris, the bug description could be changed to something like this:

Bug Description

In Gnome Classic (or Gnome Fallback) under Ubuntu 12.04, workspace
switcher's tooltip always say Current workspace: Workspace 1, though
there are four workspaces by default.

For an image of this, please look at comment #19.

This happened in Gnome 2.x times, and seems to continue now in Gnome
3.x.

Please feel free to modify it to better suit the bug (I'm not a native English
speaker, of course :-)

[Bug 145704] Re: Same tooltip on both workspaces when using Compiz

2012-06-16 Thread edu jose
Hi again, sorry for the delay in responding.

I just installed Gnome Classic and the bug continues there. Tooltip is
always the same when hovering with the mouse over any of the four work
areas shown in the selector.

However, when looking at the preferences of the workspace selector, it
says the number of workspaces is 1. When I increment this number in the
preferences, the selector changes from a rectangle with four divisions
in it to two rectangles, three, four, ... and then the tooltip on each
of them shows properly the workspace number.

Well, this is confusing to me, so I made a series of screenshots to show
what happens (see image attached).

Don't know whether it's worth filling another bug or just saying it
here.

Anyway, as you said, I also think this is a minor flaw; maybe moving it
to some kind of Gnome Classic papercuts category would help to remind
it's still there in case someone wants to work on it. As you see fit :-)

Also, I don't know for how long this Gnome Classic will be maintained.
Maybe it's better for people wanting to have a classic look to use Gnome
Shell with the proper extensions? (didn't try to set it up this way,
honestly).

[Bug 145704] Re: Same tooltip on both workspaces when using Compiz

2012-06-14 Thread edu jose
Hi Chris! I'm on 12.04 right now, using Unity 3D/Compiz.

This bug happened in Gnome 2.x, but now in Gnome 3.x I think it's not an
issue anymore. Now Gnome 3.x uses a different shell (either Gnome Shell
or Unity as far as I know) with different ways of selecting workspaces.

For example, in Unity 3D/Compiz I just see a generic tooltip when mouse
is over workspaces icon; it says Workspaces Selector. After pressing
the icon, the screen shows the four work areas, with no tooltip there.

(Oh, I forgot Gnome Classic! I can install and test it if you want, but
tomorrow as it's bed time around here)

[Bug 968383] Re: gnome-power-statistics shows info on first time launched from indicator-power, but not subsequent times

2012-04-08 Thread Eduardo Jose Moreira
I noticed that when I close gnome-power-statistics pressing Esc on the
keyboard, or just clicking the Close icon in the window decoration,
window closes but the process remains running.

On the other hand, when using the Close button at bottom-right in the
window, gnome-power-statistics window closes and process finishes as
well.

So gnome-power-statistics is only happy when closing it through its very
own Close button, sigh.

Using ubuntu 12.04 beta 2 now, fully updated.

[Bug 970535] Re: Volume buttons stopped working as of beta2 on ASUS U46E-BAL5

2012-04-02 Thread Daniel Jose
Followed the instructions as best I could, but couldn't detect the key
presses. Here were my notes...

- Ran the following command: xev | sed -n 's/^.*state \([0-9].*\), keycode
*\([0-9]\+\) *\(.*\), .*$/keycode \2 = \3, state = \1/p'
- No keys were reported when pressing the key combinations for volume ups and
downs.
- I was directed to the instructions: /usr/share/doc/udev/README.keymap.txt.gz
- Ran the command: /lib/udev/findkeyboards
- The output is... AT keyboard: input/event3.
- Ran the command: sudo /lib/udev/keymap -i input/event3
- When running the command it seemed like the ENTER key was stuck.
- Although the enter key appeared to be stuck, the key codes would appear when
pressing it.
- I pressed the volume keys, but nothing appeared in the output.
- Here is the vendor and product information:
$ cat /sys/class/dmi/id/sys_vendor
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
$ cat /sys/class/dmi/id/product_name
U46E
- Collected the output of udevadm info --export-db /tmp/udev-db.txt
(Attached).

Since I couldn't detect any of the special keys, I decided to poke
around the BIOS as well for any keyboard options, but I did not find
anything.

[Bug 968383] Re: gnome-power-statistics shows info on first time launched from indicator-power, but not subsequent times

2012-03-31 Thread Eduardo Jose Moreira
Oh, I have run gnome-power-statistics from a terminal (window shows info
normally), but when closing the power statistics window the terminal
does not return to the prompt, as if gnome-power-statistics were still
running. I opened System Monitor and the process is there indeed.

Also, while the process is running, a second call to the program
(through indicator-power, for example) shows the window with no content.
After killing the process (e.g. with Ctrl+C in the terminal, or in
System Monitor), calling again gnome-power-statistics shows its window
with the usual content, not empty.

So seems gnome-power-statistics does not finish normally after its
window is closed, affecting all subsequent runs (not showing any info)
until finished manually.

(this is using gnome-power-manager 3.4.0-0ubuntu1; didn't find version
of gnome-power-statistics)
