[Bug 1584716] Re: Text corruption in various Gnome apps since Xenial upgrade
I've been running that environment variable hack for a day now, and I'm still experiencing similar issues. Right now, all the text in the gnome- shell is gone. Window title bars, all the text in the gnome shell dash. Added attachment. I can't see the letters I type or the results that come up. It looks like I've run out of text resources or something at a very basic level. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2016-05-24 15-41-19.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-desktop/+bug/1584716/+attachment/4669379/+files/Screenshot%20from%202016-05-24%2015-41-19.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-desktop in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1584716 Title: Text corruption in various Gnome apps since Xenial upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-desktop/+bug/1584716/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1584716] [NEW] Text corruption in various Gnome apps since Xenial upgrade
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Release:16.04 Since the Ubuntu Xenial upgrade, I've had various instances of text corruption. I use a gnome-shell session. I (think) see this only if the laptop has suspended and restored. I'm using the intel graphics driver from ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers (in a failed attempt to try and upgrade myself out of the issue), but it was happening before changing to a custom PPA. This affects such a wide array of parts of the desktop that I suspect it's likely to be a basic X11 driver or GTK-level bug. [Bug 442896] [NEW] 'Places' pane and bookmarks only allows folders, not documents
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus It would be intuitive if Nautilus supported putting shortcuts to files as well as folders in the Places pane (and by reflection, the Bookmarks menu). I think I know what happened. If I'm correct then the coherence files were moved from totem-plugins to totem-plugins-extra. During the upgrade process, the old totem-plugins was still installed when it tried to upgrade/install totem-plugins-extra. Then when I run the upgrade again, the old totem-plugins has already been upgraded, so the references to coherence were gone and there's no conflict when it retries totem- plugins-extra. The fix is to upgrade the totem-plugins before totem-plugins-extra. [Bug 282326] Re: Power Manager plugin prevents Suspend when not playing music
The player thinks it's still playing once it reaches the end of a playlist. Evince of this is the pushed in state of the play button. I'm on the latest Intrepid-proposed release. Changing the state to not playing when the playlist ends shoudl go some way to solving the issue. Another option (the better one) is to have an option in setting somewhere where we can decide if we want suspension to be stopped if the player is playing.
