[Bug 582253] Re: Apport hook for gedit

2010-08-13 Thread Mitch Towner
Hi Sebastian. I don't believe that it is required to import anything as
all this hook does is attach the non-default gconf data. Please see
https://bugs.staging.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit/+bug/614874 for
a bug filed using this hook. I believe that It has all of the
information that is required, unless you want something else added that
I was not told about.

When Nigel approached me to write this hook, I was told that we only
required the non-default gconf data. If we require anything else, please
let me know I will be more than happy to update the hook. Please feel
free to ping me in #ubuntu-bugs if you have any questions mate. Thanks!

[Bug 614080] Re: Did not notice anything wrong

2010-08-06 Thread Mitch Towner
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include
enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs
effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be
grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the
appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using
'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more
about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

Unfortunately, this bug report does not show anything that is
wrong I do really like Linux's WSOL (Working Screen of
Life/Linux) :)

If you are unable to reproduce, please change the status to invalid to
close this bug report. Thanks in advance!

If I understand correctly, this has been suggested in bug #532633. I

[Bug 540691] Re: sound problem

2010-03-18 Thread Mitch Towner

[Bug 532951] Re: metacity starts and dies

2010-03-06 Thread Mitch Towner
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This report actually appears to be 3 different/separate
issues I believe they have been reported already. I will address these
issues in the same order that you have reported them.

1. This appears to be a dupe of bug 439392 or possibly bug 434173.
2. This appears to be a graphics card related issue. This can be rectified by
re-installing your graphics card driver.
3. This is a duplicate of bug 532633. This is a design decision.

If the above comments are true, please comment /or close this bug
report. It would be best to please keep separate issues as separate bug
reports in the future. This makes it easier to deal with each issue
individually. Please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs

[Bug 531787] Re: ubuntu software center applet crashes immediately after opening

2010-03-04 Thread Mitch Towner
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.
If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

2010-02-14 Thread Mitch Towner
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which
is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper
developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this
bug as a bug in nautilus as it relates to the desktop icons.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the

[Bug 521396] Re: There is no Fun button

2010-02-13 Thread Mitch Towner
I can confirm the behaviour in Lucid is different from Karmic. gcalctool in
Karmic has a Fun button to store/ edit user defined functions. This button does
not exist in the version of gcalctool in Lucid.
I can also confirm that the shift+f shortcut no longer works to edit the
user defined functions in Lucid.

See below for a screenshot from Karmic - note the Fun (function) button

See below for a screenshot from Lucid - note there is no Fun (function) button

[Bug 520685] Re: Computer short cut in the Places menu does not work

2010-02-13 Thread Mitch Towner
I have changed the package to nautilus as this is a nautilus issue - this does
not happen when using thunar.
This issue only occurs the first time Computer is selected from the Places
menu after login and only if the Extra Pane (F3) view is being used.
This issue also occurs the first time nautilus computer:/// is run from a
terminal window after login if the Extra Pane view is selected.
After the error message is displayed then dismissed, any further attempts to
select Computer from the Places menu or to run nautilus computer:/// from a
terminal window work as expected.

2010-02-09 Thread Mitch Towner
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

apport-collect -p linux 519214

This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Bear in mind that you
may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe
repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to Change Non-Private data as it will be adding information to your
bug report. Thanks in advance!
