[Bug 582253] Re: Apport hook for gedit
Hi Sebastian. I don't believe that it is required to import anything as all this hook does is attach the non-default gconf data. Please see https://bugs.staging.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit/+bug/614874 for a bug filed using this hook. I believe that It has all of the information that is required, unless you want something else added that I was not told about. When Nigel approached me to write this hook, I was told that we only required the non-default gconf data. If we require anything else, please let me know I will be more than happy to update the hook. Please feel free to ping me in #ubuntu-bugs if you have any questions mate. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This report actually appears to be 3 different/separate issues I believe they have been reported already. I will address these issues in the same order that you have reported them. 1. This appears to be a dupe of bug 439392 or possibly bug 434173. 2. This appears to be a graphics card related issue. This can be rectified by re-installing your graphics card driver. 3. This is a duplicate of bug 532633. This is a design decision. If the above comments are true, please comment /or close this bug report. It would be best to please keep separate issues as separate bug reports in the future. [Bug 531787] Re: ubuntu software center applet crashes immediately after opening
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. If you simply need to open a .rar file, install the unrar package from the multiverse repository. [Bug 519214] Re: linux-image-2.6.32-12-generic freeze
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal: apport-collect -p linux 519214 This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability to Change Non-Private data as it will be adding information to your bug report. Thanks in advance! When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs. I have set the package as ubuntu as this is not a yelp issue. ** Package changed: yelp (Ubuntu) = ubuntu ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New = Incomplete -- linux-image-2.6.32-12-generic freeze https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/519214 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to yelp in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 519651] Re: The keys controling the volume, eco-mode ... freez ubuntu 9.10 64bit
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug had the incorrect package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have re-classified this bug as a bug in gnome-settings-daemon. When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. [Bug 518671] Re: 5.1 surround sound control issue
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it without more information. Would you please add the information requested from the Reporting Sound Bugs section of https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems by running the command apport-collect -p alsa-base 518671. If you are running Karmic, please read through the following wiki page as it resolves a lot of common audio problems. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems/KarmicCaveats Can you please link to the XvidCap screencast you referred to as this may be helpful. Also this is not a yelp issue, so I have changed back to the default Ubuntu package for now.
