[Bug 1875845] Re: keyring cannot be unlocked if used fingerprint to login gnome session

2020-09-16 Thread Riccardo Maffei
I was about to submit this same bug... I can confirm that every time you
login to your gnome session with a fingerprint you can't unlock your
login keyring.

It seems that the prompt asking for the password fails to appear.
For example, opening seahorse and clicking "unlock" has no effect (the button
becomes gray but no prompt is shown). When other software tries to access the
keyring (which is still locked) no prompt is shown and the software (e.g. the
browser) either gets stuck, hangs or crashes.

The only workaround I found so far is to lock the session and then
unlock it with the password. After that, clicking on "unlock" in
seahorse will work. I guess that the password you just used to unlock
the session is cached for a while.

[Bug 1766230] Re: Strange window matching behaviour between Slack and Chrome

2020-04-30 Thread Riccardo
[Ubuntu 19.10] PhpStorm, snap installed, seems working well (eg. when I
run a debug session it opens chromium and the launcher icons are well
associated). When I open a link on Slack, also snap installed, the new
window appears in the "all windows" section of the contextual menu of
the Slack launcher icon.

[Bug 1826043] [NEW] Events spanning multiple days are displayed on the wrong day in week view

2019-04-23 Thread Riccardo Maffei
Public bug reported:

In gnome-calendar week view, events spanning multiple days are shown in
the wrong day. Also, the event is shown in only one day (ending at
midnight).

Expected behavior:
The event should be shown both on Monday and on Tuesday. In particular should

[Bug 1585818] [NEW] The selection is not shown when renaming in nautilus.

2016-05-25 Thread Riccardo Maffei
Public bug reported:

When you rename something in nautilus and select part of the text, the
selection is not shown.

Steps to reproduce:
 * Right click on a file or a folder and click rename.
(at this time the name should be automatically selected)
 * If not automatically selected, manually select part of the name.

Expected behavior:
 * selected text color should change from black to white
(or from white to a brighter white if the dark theme is enabled).
 * selected text background color should change from white to blue (or other
color)
(or from dark-grey to to blue (or other color) if the dark theme is enabled).

Actual behavior:
 * the text color is changing in the expected way.
 * the background color is not changing (or is set to a transparent color).

In the attached screenshot I've selected only "ThisTextIsSelected" and NOT
selected "ThisIsNotSelected".
In the screenshot is shown the behavior with both the light and dark Adwaita
theme.

[Bug 1002792] Re: emesene crashes with assertion failed in gtkstylecontext.c

2012-11-06 Thread Riccardo 'c10ud'
Ok, since I wanted to run gtk3 in Precise, I uploaded a modified version
of light-themes in the emesene-stable PPA.

https://launchpad.net/~emesene-team/+archive/emesene-
stable/+build/3959490

This version differs from the precise-proposed one: it removes the
transition properties that make the program crash.

After deleting it, the correct application password is saved.

[Bug 925541] [NEW] gnome-terminal gets stuck until another key is pressed

2012-02-02 Thread Riccardo Pelizzi
Public bug reported:

Sometimes gnome-terminal does not update its displayed output until i press
another key. For example, if i am in the home directory and type Pictu the
terminal might get stuck at Pict. To make the u appear, i need to press
another key (doesn't matter if i press the left key to display 'u' or the 'r'
key to display 'ur'). This also happens while executing a batch program: the
output gets stuck and i need to press a key to see the output all the way to
the new prompt.
I'm pretty sure this did not happen until a week ago or so.

[Bug 609095] [NEW] [Wishlist] under View gnome-terminal should offer a readonly tickbox

2010-07-23 Thread Riccardo Poli
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

Whenever I run a process in the terminal that takes a long time to complete, I
fear I may inadvertently hit some key (e.g., CTRL-C...) that may harm/kill the

convenient to have

Re: [Bug 364031] Re: imap email read status not updated on server

2009-04-21 Thread Riccardo
More informations about the reported bug, as required.

1 - Yes It's reproducible.
I tried with different instances of Ubuntu 8.10 (32 and amd 64) and the
bug It's always present.
I thought the trick could be on the server dovecot and so I tried with
gmail but It's just the same.

2- How to recreate the bug.

-Configure Evolution for an imap account on gmail.
You must have unread mail on your IMAP forlder.
- Run Evolution
Mark some mails as read and try to read other
Open your internet explorer and open your gmail account. The read emails
are still unread.
Close Evolution.
Update your view on gmail forlder: sometime some emails appear as read

If you try the same test path with thunderbird you will see that te read
status is immediately updated .

3- Jaunty
I could installa jaunty and try maybe next week.

Regards

Riccardo

[Bug 126456] Re: all menubars/panels disappears

2007-10-25 Thread Riccardo Carlesso
I think I had the same bug.
It randomly happens when I start gnome, and ONLY since I upgraded to Ubuntu
7.10.
The Desktop Manager prompts me for user/pass, I give it them, then it launches
the Desktop.
About 80% of times the splash progress bar (loading this and that) doesnt
appear, then I get the Desktop without bars and anything.
I did CTRL ALT F1 and symlinked a shell to desktop, then I could live again :-)
I have compiz and beryl installed...
A friend of mine suggested me to move .gnome2 dir of my home.
I did it, but the bug remained.

I attach my .xsession-errors but I dont find anything useful.
Thanx,
   Riccardo

[Bug 131973] Re: desktop random freezes in feisty

2007-08-25 Thread Riccardo Lucchese
Yes, you are right durilka: basically there are some kmodules that
enable cpu frequency scaling and the userspace daemons. Therefore is it
interesting that removing powernowd the machine still freezes.

!!! Before a few months ago I never experienced such problems: so there
must be some commit (possibly to the kernel modules [and some random
ACPI code]) that broke my configuration and many others.

[Bug 131973] Re: desktop random freezes in feisty

2007-08-24 Thread Riccardo Lucchese
Hi

I experienced such problems for months now, both on a AMD Athlon with
nv5200(running proprietary drivers) and on a laptop with a centrino and
a radeon 9600M(os drivers).

It used to happen under whatever kind of load (and to shot it down: I
don't run compiz).

Since beginning the problem was 100% fixed on the laptop passing noacpi
nolapic parameters to kernel(both feisty and gusty).
On the desktop I tried many different things until know but nothing wasn't
enough (it used to freeze also without any X server running :D)

After a bit of lkml reading I came to this:
http://lkml.org/lkml/2007/8/21/435
[he is experiencing both mouse-only-freezes and *total*-hard-freezes :D]

On both machines I'm running gusty now and I solved completely the problem by
launching ASAP after login:
sudo /etc/init.d/powernowd stop

I've read that in many threads is asked to debug the crash :), but
actually there is nothing I can do in my case: no way to get into the
pc, no ssh, no ping, no nothing...

(an already opened ssh session from a remote client to the freezing
machine also freezes at the same time:) )

Hope to hear soon about ideas on how to fix this and how I may help,
Thanks!
Riccardo

Also if interesting, my shortcuts on keyboard to change speaker's volume
are now connected to the microphone slider.

Thanks,
Riccardo.

ps. if somebody may give me some _fair_ (exact) hints i can look at the
code.

it's already implemented, you have to add those files to the gnome-

hello Henrik,

We are currently testing some different solutions to this. Prefereably
we want the setup GUI to appear from the menu, or we might simply remove
 vit from the menu.

atm, as you say, you can start the GUI setup only in accessibility mode.
No idea how to remove this check, and if this can be useful.

what you can do is change in the .destkop the Exec: fiek with an ubuntu
script (the name is at your choice) which change a gconf key
(accessibility); logaut/login/; and then add by default orca at startup

ok. this is a hack, probably you should add a info-dialog before,
ok :( blind people cannot read it, probably you could integrate it with
festival.

2006-09-04 Thread Riccardo Setti
ok, i found the problem

gnome-orca needs to be started in a gnome-session with accessibility
feature enabled.

ihmo ubuntu shouldn't have a gnome with accessibilty feature enabled, but
probably this should be documented somewhere. My english skills are 0, so i'm
not the right person who can do this. Feel free to ask me all informations you
need.
