[Bug 1018724] Re: rhythmbox stops playing songs after one second

2013-04-23 Thread Savvas Radevic
I had the same problem in 12.10 and now in 13.04. I closed totem
I installed dconf-tools package, I opened the dconf-editor and pressed Set to
default for every value under /org/gnome/Totem/ -- now totem doesn't stop
after the 1st second.

[Bug 1025557] [NEW] .O or .Z in folder = Could not open location; you might not have permission to open the file

2012-07-17 Thread Savvas Radevic

You can open folders using totem if you right-click a folder open with

Just to note that it's not a file permission issue, it's on an ext4
partition and file permissions are properly set. If I try to open the

[Bug 901611] [NEW] DVD burns ok, but no files / content afterwards

2011-12-08 Thread Savvas Radevic
Public bug reported:

1. I insert a blank DVD, select Do nothing at the popup for blank dvds.
2. I open brasero through dash (ubuntu unity)
or in this case, I used the debug command in the terminal:

brasero --brasero-burn-debug --brasero-media-debug brasero-debug.txt

3. I select Data Project, press the green + icon to add multiple files
4. I make sure the total file size is not over 4GiB and select my blank dvd and
click Burn.
5. I select 8.0x speed and I burn it
6. Progress completes without errors and ejects the media.
7. I insert the media again to check and I get no popup. The DVD device/media
is not even mounted at nautilus.

* Attached brasero-debug.txt
* I don't know if it matters, but I have disabled the file checksum and image
checksum plugins.
* DVD-RW media burns and works fine afterwards (at 4.0x speed).

[Bug 901611] Re: DVD burns ok, but no files / content afterwards

2011-12-08 Thread Savvas Radevic
** Description changed:

  1. I insert a blank DVD, select Do nothing at the popup for blank dvds.
  2. I open brasero through dash (ubuntu unity)
or in this case, I used the debug command in the terminal:

  brasero --brasero-burn-debug --brasero-media-debug brasero-debug.txt

  3. I select Data Project, press the green + icon to add multiple files.
(It asked me for windows compatibility, I selected to make them windows
compatible)
  4. I make sure the total file size is not over 4GiB and select my blank dvd
and click Burn.
  5. I select 8.0x speed and I burn it
+ (The files are to be burned directly, without making an iso image)
  6. Progress completes without errors and ejects the media.
  7. I insert the media again to check and I get no popup. The DVD device/media
is not even mounted at nautilus.

  * In windows, the brasero-burned DVD appears blank.
  * Attached brasero-debug.txt
  * I don't know if it matters, but I have disabled the file checksum and image
checksum plugins.
  * DVD-RW media burns and works fine afterwards (at 4.0x speed).

  Media info after burn:

[Bug 796346] [NEW] part of desktop background image on top of gnome-panel

2011-06-12 Thread Savvas Radevic
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

A part of desktop background image is shown on top of gnome-panel. It
disappears either by clicking on the ubuntu menu item or by hovering
(mouse-over) over it.
I'm not 100% sure this is a gnome-panel bug. This problem occurs at random

[Bug 571868] Re: Eye of Gnome + status bar date plugin hangs with specific PNG pictures

2010-06-18 Thread Savvas Radevic
It seems it's still reproduceable, it was my mistake, re-confirming. :)
No other steps required, other than these:

Working example:
- Run eog
- Edit Preferences Plugins Disable status bar date plugin
- Close eog.
- Download an example png provided above.
- Double-click on the downloaded png.
- See that they are working.

Not working example:
- Run: eog
- Edit Preferences Plugins Enable status bar date plugin
- Close eog
- Download an example png provided above.
- Double-click on the downloaded png.
- See that they are not working.

I think you have to send it upstream:

[Bug 571868] Re: Eye of Gnome + status bar date plugin hangs with specific PNG pictures

2010-05-04 Thread Savvas Radevic
Confirming and attaching another image that makes it hang:
http://www.winehq.org/images/winehq_logo_glass.png
I have the exact symptoms as described in the bug description and in the
comments above.

It's reproducible with current eog in ubuntu 10.04 lucid lynx. If it
matters, I have done a clean format of root (/), while my /home was not
formatted. If I disable the status bar date plugin, it works!

[Bug 571868] Re: Eye of Gnome + status bar date plugin hangs with specific PNG pictures

2010-05-04 Thread Savvas Radevic
Looks like it's due to some left-over configuration (attached).
killall -9 eog
gconftool --shutdown
rm -r .gconf/apps/eog .gnome2/eog .gnome2/accels/eog
gconftool --spawn

Then run eog again. :)

Re: [Bug 538773] Re: Please remove python-gtkhtml2 from package dependencies

2010-04-29 Thread Savvas Radevic
True, I can still confirm it for these packages:

$ grep-aptavail -FDepends -FRecommends -FSuggests -sPackage
python-gtkhtml2

Package: foomatic-gui
Package: gnochm
Package: lekhonee-gnome

The problem is that some packages appear to really depend on
python-gtkhtml2, so they need a code patch to be clear. :)

[Bug 532633] Re: [Master] Window Control buttons: position/order/alignment

2010-03-25 Thread Savvas Radevic
I hope this decision doesn't have to do with the fact that (statistically) most
of the designers/artists are left-handed... :P
Anyway, my opinion is that this is just a marketing trick, similar to the one
that happened with the ugly background.

Even if it is true, I'm not afraid of changes and I like trying out new
things. I can always customize it. :)

@mattrenfer: on ubuntu karmic (9.10), you can install the package
libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio.
It should fix the problems with the sound. If not, try setting the sound sample
rate:

Settings (top menu) - Sound (right menu) - Sample rate: 48000

Then quit, and start teeworlds again. You could also try out 0.5.2:

[Bug 420434] Re: Replace wodim dependency with dvd+rw-tools

2009-09-07 Thread Savvas Radevic
For clarification, Luke *is* right :)

The changelog reads:

commit 383b92e77755a2337720d6656e6cdefc872025d6

Add checks for disc flags
Sometimes when things fails (with wodim) it can happen that the disc is
flagged as APPENDABLE UNFORMATTED: don't allow it

commit 00af68e556bc8d2dfbab093e629f60ce9aaef66d

Don't set DAO for DVDs
DAO doesn't help for anything and leads to have wodim chosen instead of
growisofs which we don't want
Also remove a debug statement

[Bug 420434] Re: Replace wodim dependency with dvd+rw-tools

2009-09-06 Thread Savvas Radevic
Luke is probably right:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/370999/comments/24
In this case, the debian package has to include both as dependencies, right?

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=582261#c5

Thanks for the report. I think I nailed down the bug. It was in wodim plugin
that couldn't handle reporting the size of burnt data properly when it was over
2GiB.

Now if you have growisofs, you shouldn't be using wodim in the first place
(which is why I didn't see the bug for so long). I tried to fix that;
please when 2.26.3 is installed on your computer make a test and see if you
still have wodim burning DVDs. If so, let me know so I can fix that.

Re: [Bug 370999] Re: reports 0% until finished, also slowly burning at speed 0.3x or 0.5x

2009-08-28 Thread Savvas Radevic
 To me, Brasero using wodim
burns unreadable DVDs (wodim 9:1.1.9-1ubuntu1 64-bit).

1. Try burning at lower speeds (e.g. 2x or 4x)
2. Try with a different dvd burner (I mean your device/hardware, not
the software).

I tried with a DVD-rewritable disc (4.0x maximum speed):
- burning 1.6GB image
- burning 4.3GB image
- burning 3.3GB of data

All successful!

Ah wait, the problematic plugin is *wodim*. You should be using
*growisofs* instead of wodim.
Change the priority, it was mentioned earlier. :)

[Bug 401625] [NEW] if f-spot removed and photo media mounted nautilus shows No applications found

2009-07-20 Thread Savvas Radevic
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I have a memory stick pro duo card that I use with Sony Ericsson w810i
to import pictures and music to and from the mobile phone. With f-spot
installed, when I mount the memory stick in the memory card reader,
nautilus says it has found some digital photos and allows me to choose
from F-spot, Open folder and Open with other application.

When f-spot is removed ( sudo apt-get remove f-spot ), nautilus shows
No applications found. It should provide Ask what to do in the
nautilus media preferences and Open folder and/or Open with other

Mine is burned at ~0.5x speeds
As a sidenote, imgburn on windows works as expected.

Attached screenshots:
0. Everything goes well until about 50%.
1. Afterwards, it continues, but the report does not show anything. The speed
jiggles from 689KiB/s to 706KiB/s and vice versa, the burning keeps going.
2. Somewhere in the end, brasero shows progress again, but starts from 0% again.
3. Burn was successful.

Re: [Bug 338040] Re: Mouse nav buttons do not work in Nautilus

2009-05-05 Thread Savvas Radevic
This doesn't work in Jaunty yet
antioch, it's been fixed upstream, that means at Gnome, not in Ubuntu.
The fix is rather a feature so I think it will come in future karmic
(9.10)

2009-04-29 Thread Savvas Radevic
If you want to try it out on ubuntu 9.04 (jaunty jackalope) execute
these in terminal:

/usr/share/system-tools-backends-2.0/scripts/Time/TimeDate.pm.backup
sudo wget http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26144135/TimeDate.pm -O

[Bug 43644] Re: time-admin shows different time zone when it is restarted

2009-04-29 Thread Savvas Radevic
Woohoo! The patch mentioned on the upstream bug is working! I can now see
Europe/Belgrade instead of the wrong Europe/Sarajevo:

$ date -R
Wed, 29 Apr 2009 17:44:44 +0200

I changed it a bit for jaunty 9.04.
