[Bug 592178] Re: unable to locate encoding profile for mimetype

2011-02-01 Thread Scott Robinson
I may have had this same problem. After several restarts of rhythmbox
and reinserting the cd it would fail each time upon reaching the same
track. The track in question contained a question mark in the name and
another had an exclamation mark. I restarted rhythmbox and renamed the
tracks (removed the special chars) and encoding proceeded fine. Hope
this helps.

[Bug 49221] Re: Unable to start applications after suspend/hibernation

2007-02-28 Thread Scott Robinson
If the gnome-session freezing issue occurs, please note the following:

  * Did you start the suspend via the Logout Dialog?
  * After waiting 5 - 15 minutes (depends on the initial conditions) did the
Logout Dialog appear?

I'm reasonably certain I have tracked down the bug in
13_smoother_fading, but would like more information from other people
who have the issue.

(This same fade bug exists in libgksu, but due to suspends not typically
occurring in that use case, it hasn't cropped up.)

[Bug 49221] Re: Unable to start applications after suspend/hibernation

2007-01-25 Thread Scott Robinson
My current investigation indicates the issue is related to the Ubuntu
custom login/logout dialog.

Specifically, the 13_smoother_fading patch. I'm still investigating, but
I believe it is related to the time jumping during the fade event.

2007-01-12 Thread Scott Robinson
I can confirm this is occurring in feisty too. For whatever reason,
gnome-session is not writing back a response to connections. The
connections are being accepted, which means the gdk mainloop (as the
g_io_add_watch is driven by it) is still running.

I'm going to examine the source code more, as this is a very annoying
bug.

[Bug 60022] [edgy] Number of workspaces / desktops reduced to 2

2006-09-11 Thread Scott Robinson

In the latest update from edgy, the number of my virtual desktops has
reduced from four to two.

Was this intentional? (If so, why?) Seems like a bit of a pointless
break from upstream.

[Bug 39050] Re: Totem crashes on startup.

2006-05-14 Thread Scott Robinson
Yes, I still have the issue and with help from the gstreamer guys I
tracked it down.

Essentially, on a bunch of Xorg drivers, allocating a XVideo surface
larger than the available memory will return a BadAlloc. gstreamer
doesn't handle this, and therefore the crash.

Some developers in IRC noted it was a bug on their side, but I haven't
had time to report it. However, it can be demonstrated easily with the
following pipeline:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ file leaftag-gimmie.avi
leaftag-gimmie.avi: RIFF (little-endian) data, AVI, 1024 x 768, 25.00 fps,
video:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gst-launch-0.10 videotestsrc !
video/x-raw-yuv,height=1024,width=768 ! xvimagesink
Setting pipeline to PAUSED ...
Pipeline is PREROLLING ...

[Bug 39050] Re: Totem crashes on startup.

2006-04-24 Thread Scott Robinson
Ok, I have figured this out more. I've been playing with using gst-launch to
setup test video streams.

It appears the Xserver kicks back a BadAlloc when an xvideo is setup at
resolutions it doesn't like.

I would assume this is proper server behavior - but I don't know. I do know
that the issue with the leaftag-gimmie.avi is the base resolution (1x scale) is
larger than my display, and coincidently counted as a resolution the server
doesn't like. Therefore, it kicks back BadAlloc.

Either totem or gstreamer should be handling this eventuality, yes?

Description:
If a text-input with drop-down text completion is being used, and only a

It should normally hilite with the orange background.

The best way to test this, I have found, is open up Mozilla and find
some form I've entered multiple entries in. Then, type enough of a
particular entry that a single match is found. Press down-arrow and the
completion entry disappears instead of being hilited.

The bug is in hald/hald_dbus.c:device_query_capability. Specifically,

However, it's actually a strlist. Thus, an assertion occurs when the
hal_device_property_get_string is attempted.

It seems likely this code is stale...
