Gentlemen, I am really stuck at that point. I am refusing to make any changes

conclusive voting results.
I do not take any sides (I cannot have any personal opinion, not using French).

[Bug 349917] [NEW] For layouts 'ru, us' gnome-terminal ignores Control

2009-03-27 Thread Sergey V. Udaltsov
Public bug reported:

In case of layouts 'us,ru' g-t processes Control correctly. If I change
layout to 'ru,us', it stops working - just produces 'c' when I press
Control-c. Other apps (xterm, gedit) work correctly - which proves that
xkb is most probably ok (at least I checked xkb configuration using
xkbcomp, everything looks fine).

May be, it is actually vte bug, not g-t

[Bug 344060] Re: gnome-settings-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in _XiGetDevicePresenceNotifyEvent()

2009-03-26 Thread Sergey V. Udaltsov
This is very odd! There is no call of start_listen inside process_error.
There is no call of set_indicators inside start_listen. Should I mention
that set_indicators never invoke that Xi function?... It seems the stack
is seriously messed up. I'd recommend running g-s-d with export
XKL_DEBUG=200...

[Bug 340537] [NEW] CPU scaling not supported, Centrino Duo

2009-03-10 Thread Sergey V. Udaltsov
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

On GNOME startup, I am getting the error message about not supported CPU
Scaling.

/proc/cpuinfo says power management: (empty)
/proc/acpi/processor/CPU*/info says power management: no

No ACPI errors in dmesg

vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 6
model : 15
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5600 @ 1.83GHz

[Bug 102079] Re: Keyboard misdetected as “ Evdev-managed keyboard”

[Bug 102079] Re: Keyboard misdetected as “ Evdev-managed keyboard”

2007-04-11 Thread Sergey V. Udaltsov
The logic IIRC is very simple:

Once xorg starts, it puts the value from xorg.conf into XKB_RULES_NAMES
root window property.

Once gnome (gnome-settings-daemon) starts, it backs up XKB_RULES_NAMES
into XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP and then checks gconf. If there is nothing
in gconf, it uses the current value from XKB_RULES_NAMES (i.e. actually
it is doing nothing). Otherwise, it changes the configuration using the
values from gconf.

Once gnome-keyboard-properties capplet starts, is loads whatever
configuration is present in gconf - or, if none, falls back to the
original one, i.e. XKB_RULES_NAMES.

Does it make sense?

[Bug 45326] Re: undefined symbol in libbackup_conduit.so

2006-06-29 Thread Sergey V. Udaltsov
This actually helps:

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libgpilotdconduit.so gpilotd-control-applet

But it is a workaround, it cannot be recommended as a regular solution

So, the plugins are:
- flash
- java (IBM, since there is not Sun java for linux/ppc)
- mplayer
- desktop file

[Bug 49279] Re: epiphany opens /dev/dsp exclusevely

Not at the moment. The problem appears after I browse for some while (I
do not close my browser for a very long time). I'll try to find the site
causing the problem.

[Bug 49279] epiphany opens /dev/dsp exclusevely

2006-06-19 Thread Sergey V. Udaltsov
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: epiphany

Epiphany opens /dev/dsp in some bad way which actually stops other apps
from opening it. Even if I specify using esd in the sound properties -
it seems epiphany ignores it. Once I quit epyphany - other sound apps
get the sound back.

** Affects: epiphany-browser (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Untriaged
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 49279] Re: epiphany opens /dev/dsp exclusevely

2006-06-19 Thread Sergey V. Udaltsov
May well be. But it is not a reason to use audio file incorrectly
(exclusively), is it?
JFYI, since I am running ubuntu on ppc, my flash plugin is based on the gnu
code (no native plugin from Macromedia).

No, initially the dsp file is not locked. And I was trying to browse a
bit - the file is still not locked. I will try to find some pattern or
moment when it gets locked...

[Bug 35362] gnome-keyboard-applet lacks some external symbols necessary for plugins

2006-03-17 Thread Sergey V. Udaltsov
Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/35362

Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
When I am trying to use gswitchit-plugins with gnome-keyboard-applet, I
see this:

[1142616836,000,gswitchit_plugin_manager.c:_GSwitchItPluginManagerAddPluginsDir/]
   Bad module: [/usr/lib/gswitchit/flags.so], /usr/lib/gswitchit/flags.so:
undefined symbol: GSwitchItPluginContainerReinitUi
[1142616836,000,gswitchit_plugin_manager.c:_GSwitchItPluginManagerAddPluginsDir/]
   Bad module: [/usr/lib/gswitchit/highlight.so],
/usr/lib/gswitchit/highlight.so: undefined symbol:
GSwitchItPluginContainerReinitUi
[1142616836,000,gswitchit_plugin_manager.c:_GSwitchItPluginManagerAddPluginsDir/]
   Bad module: [/usr/lib/gswitchit/anim.so], /usr/lib/gswitchit/anim.so:
undefined symbol: GSwitchItAppletConfigGetImagesFile

These symbols are extern symbols but it seems they are lost during the
build process. When I build the applet manually, these symbols presend
in the executable. Could the build process be please fixed?

PS As a side request - I am going to release gswitchit-plugins for gnome
2.14 very soon - could Ubuntu provide .deb once they are released?

Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/31124

Affects: gdm (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal

Description:
I am using default gnome desktop in Dapper (all the latest updates etc).
It starts with two gnome panels (top and bottom) - and, for some reason,
kde panel (kicker) starts as well. Actually, it seems full kde session
is started as well (according to ps -ef). The screen looks very
strange...
