[Bug 1124632] Re: Backspace key does not work anymore.

2013-03-02 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
The new keyboard shortcut for this is Alt-Up.
Alt-Up browses to the parent directory just like Backspace used to do.

I don't like it but doesn't make it a bug.
I found this out by accident, a hint should be good for everyone when the
backspace is pressed, or even better, make the Backspace key work as it used to
before.

[Bug 1129353] [NEW] doesn't play after a few played files

2013-02-18 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

After startup Rhytmbox plays mp3s normally.
But then, after a few songs played it no longer plays music even if I skip to
another song, press play again, etc.

When it gets stuck it notifies the song is being played but the song
does not play and the timer does not advance.

This actually applies to the whole system: If Rhythmbox gets stuck and
no longer plays mp3 files, totem will not play either.

[Bug 1129353] Re: doesn't play after a few played files

2013-02-18 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
I believe I have corrupted files that produce this.
Corrupted files are expected to be skipped instead of disabling the system's
playback capability for the rest of the session.
I'll scan my music library looking for those files and maybe share them if
someone is interested.

[Bug 1124632] [NEW] Backspace key does not work anymore.

2013-02-13 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

In previous versions of nautilus (the one shipped in 12.10),
In the file list, pressing the backspace in the keyboard browses to the upper
directory in the tree.
For instance if you're in /home/me and press backspace, you go to /home

Now the backspace key does nothing.

This shortcut key worked in recent versions of Windows, so removing it
is an annoyance for new Ubuntu users.

[Bug 1112066] [NEW] Ripping: Specifying the Album artist does not copy it to all tracks

2013-01-31 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

to reproduce:
- Insert a CD that is not detected by musicbrainz service. All tracks are
Unknown Artist Track 01 and such.
- Specify the Album Genre (you'll notice the genre is applied to all tracks).
- Specify the Album Artist.

what is expected:
- The artist name is applied to all tracks that don't have an artist specified,
just like genre.

what actually happens:
- Nothing: artist is not updated, forcing the user to add it manually.

I hope this one is easy to fix, though not a critical bug.

[Bug 968272] [NEW] Passwords are too easy to steal

2012-03-29 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

To get a remembered password in plain text all you have to do is open
seahorse, then right-click on the desired password, properties,
password, show password. And there's the password on your screen.

This makes it too easy to steal a password, seahorse should ask for the
current user's password before showing such sensitive information.

[Bug 958633] [NEW] Copying files to a mobile device renames files to Artist/Album/TrackNo - Title even though settings say otherwise

2012-03-18 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

I have Rhytmbox configured to use Artist/Artist - Title as file and
folder hierarchy (Edit/Preferences/Music/whatever - i have the thing in
spanish).

However, when I plugin my android phone and copy some music to it by dragging
it from the song list to the icon on top-left browser, the files are copied to
Music/Artist/Album/Track# - Title.

Isn't it supposed to copy to

[Bug 907135] [NEW] Rhythmbox crashes due to ReplayGain

2011-12-20 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

I recentrly used ReplayGain with QtGain(mp3gain) to make all my music sound
with the same volume.
Now I noticed my music collection is way smaller and even though the files are
there, they no longer appear in the music library.

Rhytmbox crashes if I go to settings and disable, then re-enable the
checkbox that searches for new files on the library ('Vigilar mi
fonoteca en busca de nuevos archivos' in spanish).

This is what happpens when I run rhytmbox from a terminal:

[Bug 884597] [NEW] search as you type not working properly

2011-11-01 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

Open a browser window, for example your home directory.
Make sure the files area has focus.
Type 'doc' to select the Documents folder; Documents is highlighted.
Pres Enter to open the Documents folder; the contents of your documents' folder
are shown.
Type the name of another file of older you can see to select it.
You'll notice that:
- the previous search is shown and whatever you type is appended to it.
- the backspace key does not delete characters in the search as you type
textbox, it moves to the upper folder instead.

[Bug 769234] Re: Notifications are delayed if contacts send messages too fast

2011-06-06 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
@Martin Pitt : I tested the way this works on Unity and I'm impressed:
It works great! --at least with one contact sending several messages.

However, testing the thing more thoroughly -- and I don't think this will truly
be a problem -- I noticed that if two people send one message per second or so
the second person's messages are not notified at all.
MSN messenger responds to this with several notifications, one on top of the
other.
Empathy 2.34.0 from the -proposed repository seems to handle this quite well.

The fix is good for me and the quick response to this bug was great.

Thanks for fixing it so fast!

[Bug 769234] [NEW] Notifications are delayed if contacts send messages too fast

2011-04-22 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

If your contacts send too many messages to you on empathy, you'll see
notifications a lot later than expected.
For example:
mrx: hi
mrx: how are you?
mrx: i got your message
mrx: but hey
mrx: I already sent you that...

The you open the conversation and read the whole message and even
respond, you'll still have a notification saying but hey even when you
read that message long ago.

So, if you open a conversation or focus the conversation window, all
enqueued messages should be removed from the queue of notifications, or
merged into a single one.

[Bug 708921] [NEW] Calendar vertical position totally messed up on vertical panels

2011-01-27 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Clicking on the clock applet pops up a calendar with the dates and the
weather at different locations.

Normally the clock applet is used on the top-right side of the screen
and the pop up appears with the top-right corner of the pop-up aligned
with the top-right edge of the screen right below the panel. This is
okay if the panel is horizontal, whether at the top or bottom.

Expected behaviour:
The pop-up is supposed to appear in a corner of the desktop as close as
possible to the clock-applet in such a way that it remains visible and it does
not overlap with other panels.

What actually happens:
If the panel is vertical the calendar is aligned to the top edge of the applet
ignoring the screen edges, which means that the popup will be drawn outside the
screen (as seen on the attachments).
To make matters worse, expanding the locations or tasks in the calendar will
kick the pop-up even further away from the applet, and totally outside the
screen!

generally there are people with facebook authentication have

That seems to be the thing. I tried using the facebook ID instead of my

2010-09-22 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
I just tried to burn again, this time dragging files from a nautilus window.
An error message popped up saying that cdrdao is not installed.

I tried to create an image and the image was created successfully.
Attempting to burn the image with brasero produced the same error.

[Bug 618992] [NEW] Spanish translation: Nearby computers (left panel) has labels too long

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vinagre

[Bug 586528] [NEW] keyboard doesn't work after screensaver shuts down the monitor

2010-05-27 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

The keyboard doesn't work when I return to work on the computer after a
few minutes, long enough for the screen to go blank.

To reproduce:
Don't touch the keyboard nor mouse for a while.
After the first 5 minutes, the screensaver kicks in (matrix).
On minute 10, the screen goes blank.
Wait a few more minutes.
Move the mouse or press a key to keep working.

Just type something in the window you have already opened you'll notice
that the active window does not receive any keyboard input, and you
can't even press alt-tab to switch to another window.

Of course, i expect the keyboard to work as usual but it does not.

Here, when the keyboard doesn't work, you can switch to another window
using the mouse and the keyboard will return to normal.
