[Bug 440886] [NEW] gnome-power-manager does not display mobile phone battery info from phone-manager

2009-10-02 Thread Victor Osadci
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Gnome-phone-manager can get the battery info from the attached mobile
phone, and gnome-power-manager can show the info from phone-manager.
This used to work in previous Ubuntu releases and is broken in karmic.
There were some changes in the way the comunication between the two is
done, so maybe the problem is there.

[Bug 333910] Re: gnome-power-manager crashed with SIGSEGV in g_cclosure_marshal_VOID()

2009-06-26 Thread Victor Osadci
I tried the Karmik Live CD and g-p-m didn't crash ... but it didn't work
either.

The battery level for the phone, as reported by gnome-power-manager, is
0, which might mean that it doesn't comunicate too well with gnome-
phone-manager. If it did, it might crash, or not...

I will try to install Karmic and compile phone-manager and power-manager
from trunk and see if that works.

[Bug 333910] Re: gnome-power-manager crashed with SIGSEGV in g_cclosure_marshal_VOID()

2009-06-26 Thread Victor Osadci
I installed 9.10 and default power-manager+phone-manager do not show
battery info for the phone.

Next I compiled gnome-phone-manager trunk, and it still doesn't work;
and both power-manager and phone-manager from trunk, and it doesn't work
anyway.

On 9.04, with either the default phone-manager or trunk, I can see the
phone battery level.

Looks like this might have something to do with gnome-phone-manager,
which tels gnome-power-manager the battery level for the phone. The
crash doesn't happen when I close gnome-phone-manager.

[Bug 333910] Re: gnome-power-manager crashed with SIGSEGV in g_cclosure_marshal_VOID()

2009-06-25 Thread Victor Osadci
Scot,
I have tried building gnome-power-manager from trunk, but it has some
dependencies that are not in Ubuntu 9.4.

So, before I go building everything by hand, is there a way to see if
that commit is in the g-power-manager package for Ubuntu 9.4 ?

The commit date is 2007-11-02, so I would asume that it is in 9.4, which
means that it didn't quite fix the bug...

[Bug 275865] Re: Nautilus RAW image thumbnails have wrong orientations.

2009-05-27 Thread Victor Osadci
Michael,

/desktop/gnome/thumbnailers/im...@x-dcraw/command gnome-raw-thumbnailer
-s %s %u %o

The version of gnome-raw-thumbnailer is 2.0.1-0ubuntu5, but there are
no openraw packages installed, only dcraw.

Another thing I noticed is that when increasing the size of the
thumbnails (Ctrl++), the thumbs are regenerated, the orientation is
correct and the thumb quality is rather bad; so, it looks like the
problem is dependent on the thumbnail size.

Seb, if you look at http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18038517/image-
thumb.png, you will notice that when this bug was reported initially,
the RAW files were being rotated, and now they are not.

I believe RAW files do have orientation data in them. Opening the RAW
file in UFRaw does also show the correct orientation.

Pedro, what tool do you use to look at the data ?

# exiv2 -p a DSC_3239.NEF | grep Orientation
Exif.Image.Orientation Short 1 left, bottom

For me, opening the NEF from GIMP only brings up UFRaw, which then sends the
image to GIMP with the correct orientation. I have gimp-ufraw, which probably
does this.

Also, considering that the RAW files used to be shown with the correct
orientation some time in the past, I'd say this is a regression.

[Bug 350172] [NEW] wrong file name after restoring from trash

2009-03-28 Thread Victor Osadci
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

To reproduce:

* Create two directories - dir1 and dir2;
* In each directory, create a file the same name (ex. foo.bar)

The directory structure should look like
dir1/foo.bar
dir2/foo.bar

* Move both files to the trash
Now the trash contains two files with the same name.

* Restore each file from the trash using Edit-Restore

Result:

The name of one of the files is foo.2.bar, so it looks like
dir1/foo.bar
dir2/foo.2.bar

This is on an up-to-date 9.04 with nautilus 2.26.

I delete the file either by drag'n'drop to the trash, the file context
menu, or the delete key - this does not make any difference.

Ubuntu is installed using the Romanian locale - ro_RO.UTF-8.

This bug is also reproducible with a clean user profile.

Some characters that cause problems - ăâșțî£

[Bug 337652] [NEW] gvfsd-sftp uses 100% CPU

2009-03-04 Thread Victor Osadci
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gvfs

gvfsd-sftp uses 100% CPU at random times and for no apparent reason.

There are not SFTP/SSH remote locations mounted, and there were none
since booting.

After some time since booting, a gvfsd-sftp process started using 100% of a CPU
core. The process restarted after being killed.
After a few more minutes, another gvfsd-sftp process started and used 100% of

[Bug 334403] [NEW] evolution addressbook does not show mobile phone numbers

2009-02-25 Thread Victor Osadci
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Attached is a screen shot that shows a contact that has a mobile phone
in the appropriate field. The list of contacts does not show the number
for the selected contact, or any other contact.

The card view doesn't show the fields either.

Attached is a .vcf (text) file containing one entry. It can be imported

file format, but evolution.

[Bug 160812] Re: Yelp does not print images

2009-02-19 Thread Victor Osadci
I've tested this in 9.04

First, the .ps files don't open in evince, so I only looked at the
print preview version.

The print preview for whole document (File - Print whole document) has
no images, but the text is OK. See the attached Screenshot-Help-print-
full-doc.png

The print preview for the current page only (File - Print this page)
shows the page title, a frame around the page and the page number at the
bottom, but no other content. Closing the preview window and opening it
again does show the content, but also without images. See the attached
images: Screenshot-Help-print-section-try-1.png Screenshot-Help-

In the attached screenshot there are 4 files - JPEG and RAW/NEF versions

The RAW ones are oriented correctly and the JPEG are not.

One of the JPEGs is opened in EOG, and is oriented correctly.

I would expect all the images to be oriented similar to the RAW/NEF and
as they display in EOG.

[Bug 213451] Re: AdBlock no longer works

2008-04-07 Thread Victor Osadci
Nicolas, this bug refers to the Epiphany Ad Block extension, not the
Firefox one. Epiphany extensions and Firefox plugins are different and
not compatible.

The Epiphany-extensions package version is the appropriate one for the
installed Epiphany package.

I noticed a few other extensions not working or having strange behaviour
- Page Info, Mouse gestures.

Epiphany has also started crashing a lot after the xulrunner update.

Maybe there were some changes in the mozembeed API that caused this ?

Bruce, do other extensions work for you ?
