[Bug 36812]

2018-06-08 Thread Yanpas
I use both Windows and Linux. BTW Many people don't have a choise of the
OS on their jobs.

I may provide a patch that would make it available to switch the
behaviour in the runtime (I guess a line in xorg.conf would be fine). So
we don't break the standard, people don't need to recompile xorg every
time and patch developers don't need to adapt the patch.

[Bug 36812]

2018-06-08 Thread Yanpas
High, Viktor!

I'm using Ctrl+Shift for twelve years since Win XP. I use this
combintaion on my win machines. So it's definetely not an option for me.
Since I use Cyrillic layout I switch layouts frequently (people using
Latin layouts are less affected). Imagine saving action shortcut
"Ctrl+S" combintaion would be replaced with something like "Alt+R" in
your favourite text editor.

I'm also sure that no one will complain if the patch will be merged. And
I do not understand why should we follow the standard if this standard
makes living uncomfortable.

BTW according to previous comments wayland implentations suffer from
this bug too despite they do not depend on Xorg-server. Do we need
separate patch for libxcb and libxcbcommon?

[Bug 36812]

2018-06-08 Thread Yanpas
Me too very upset about this bug: there is patch for several yers - no
one cares. I suggest compromise: add autotools|meson option to enable
this feature. At least every distro would be able to decide whether they
want to provide nonstandard behavior.

I also see that this bug is assigned but nothing happens.

2017-08-22 Thread Yanpas
Facing the same. gnome-keyring-daemon often fails to start, if it
manages to start it asks for Login keyring password.

BTW gnome-keyring-daemon always starts from root, even if I run it from
user in terminal!

xubuntu 16.04, it became broken in these two months.

[Bug 1304385] [NEW] Gnome-power-manager doesn't have permission to shutdown PC

2014-04-08 Thread Yanpas
Public bug reported:

I'm not sure if Gnome-power-manager is guilty, but the PC can't shutdown
automaticly.
I have two machines with the same problem:
1)On netbook: Netbook can't shutdown automaticly, when the battery is extremely
low. I applied differnet settings in dconf
org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power , but there is no result
2)On the PC I'm unavailable to shutdown PC via button. I may set suspend etc on
the power button, but if I choose shutdown - the interactive dialog opens,
where I am to choose action once again
3)Everybody needs to confirm their choise when they hit restart or shutdown
in the Unity tray menu.

So I don't know where is the problem exactly. But it seems that all
power settings are located at org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power
and this is gnome-power-manager.
