Hello Christian,

Thank you for taking the time to submit a report. I can personally

bug from a few years ago requesting this behavior. It wasn't clear
whether it was implemented on purpose or by mistake. Nevertheless, I

[Bug 364001] Re: New icons on desktop are placed on top of existing ones

2010-01-12 Thread Yazen Ghannam
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 40872 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/40872

Hello Shahar,

I can confirm this issue using your example. But it does seem that this
is a duplicate. If you read the original post of bug #40872's submitter,
he/she mentions the same issue: When I remove a file from my desktop or
a new icon is added as a result of some program adding an entry, the
desktop isn't refreshed with autoarranged icons. Also, the comments
mention this, for example comments #3 and #4. Furthermore, the upstream
bug #313563 clearly mentions that this issue happens automatically, for
example comments #2 and #4.

It seems that the developers know of this issue but have not taken the
time to address it. If you have the ability, I encourage you to develop
a patch for this issue.

Thank you.

[Bug 502020] Re: The notes system seems inconsistent

2010-01-01 Thread Yazen Ghannam
Hello Rod,

Thank you for taking the time to make this report. The notes system is
very simple indeed, but it seems that's how it was designed (at least
according to the help information). If you'd like to help improve the
system, please forward this report upstream and add a link here. I've
also added this report to the One Hundred Paper Cuts project; hopefully
they'll be able to give more help. Thanks again.

[Bug 499510] Re: nautilus really slow to open big documents folder

2009-12-22 Thread Yazen Ghannam
Hello Francesco,

Thank you for taking the time to submit a report. I've just tried this
with 800 empty folders and nautilus opens quickly. May I ask what type
of files are contained in this folder? Maybe there is an issue with
thumbnail caching so many files if they are photos, videos, etc. Thank
you again.
