[Bug 486142] Re: valid email being routed to Junk folder

2010-04-27 Thread beginner uk
Since last week, most of my emails are going straight into the 'junk' folder
without me wanting it or knowing it.
Also, I cannot 'move' or 'copy' them from the 'junk' folder into the 'in box'
or any other folder. I just get another one of the same email ( duplicate) back
into the 'junk' folder. I do not know how to reproduce this as it happens with
emails coming in from outside. I hope you can help. Thanks.

[Bug 522904] [NEW] printing not readable using Canon MP130

2010-02-16 Thread beginner uk
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gedit

The first 11 lines print out. In the next lines: almost every other line or
part of line is non existent. 2 lines in the middle of the page can be read.
The rest of the page has hardly got printed. In places, the top part of the
words is printed, in other parts the lower part of the words got printed.
Difficult to guess what the words could be. Last night - The printer was
installed with bjfilter-common, bjfilter-pxmaip1500, bjfilter-pcmaip1500-lprng,
canon-ip1500. It worked last night. This morning the Update Manager did a
partial update of some items. A problem was noted with ip1500. (Don't remember
what?)
After this, 2 pages were printed off the internet. The first page was fine. On
the second page - about the middle of this page the first line of two
paragraphs did not print well. There was not much text written in the lower
part of this second page - so cannot tell if the rest of the page would have
printed ok. What would you suggest?
Background History:- The printer would not work since first installing Ubuntu
9.10 on 29 Jan.2010 onto a new hard drive, (having used Microsoft xp on the
previous hard drive). Many things were tried to get the printer to work,
unsuccessfully. Only last night, after installing the bjfilters listed above,
did the printer work. Today it does not work well as written above ( after the
updates??).
Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: [Bug 517306] Re: emails move to delete folder in error

2010-02-05 Thread beginner uk
Thank you Pedro for this info.
In that case there seems to be NO difference between 'move to another
folder' and 'copy to another folder'. Yet the two options are given.

I will test this out.
Thanks again.

there's no problem, that's how evolution works, it copy the emails to
the other folder and when that's done it deletes the old ones, not a

[Bug 517306] [NEW] emails move to delete folder in error

2010-02-04 Thread beginner uk
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I have just started using Ubuntu 9.10.
I have a problem in Evolution when moving emails from the 'inbox' folder to
another folder.
This is what I do :-
I right click on an email, then in the dropdown menu, I click on 'move to
folder',
then I select a folder in the little window with the list of folders and then
click on 'move'.
It seems that the emails have gone to the new folder.

But by chance, I have later found that many of the moved emails were in the
'delete' folder !
That was not the folder into which they were moved !
What do I need to do to rectify this problem?
Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
