[Bug 315684] Re: nautilus crashes while trying to mount NAS

2009-01-30 Thread dancer58
Samba and smbfs were updated yesterday (1/29/2009) from proposed and then I
could mount the storage folders
They mounted slow, sometimes had to try twice but they mounted and I could move
files
sambaVersion: 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.5
smbfsVersion: 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.5

Then comes today (1/30/2009)and Linux was updated (I mounted storage before I
did updates and they mounted)
Linux asus 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 29 19:24:39 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
now I get the error below (every time)

Unable to mount location
Failed to retrieve share list from server

Nothing in error log!!!

It worked for one day, there's hope

[Bug 315684] Re: nautilus crashes while trying to mount NAS

2009-01-30 Thread dancer58
date 1/30/2009
With all proposed (samba) and regular (nautilus) updates I am able to mount
storage shares
I have 3 shares on storage drive (network drive)
When I mount through Nautilus (go/network/Windows
Network/workgroup/storage-7988) it will mount the share I choose but cannot
mount another share unless I start over (go/network ect.). Even then I have to
try 2 times to get another share mounted on network drive. Once they are
mounted they work OK.
I also had to do a shutdown (not reboot) a couple of times to get shares to
mount

This still will not mount shares on network drive
sudo mount -t smbfs //192.168.1.11/barb /home/harold/AA/barb -o nounix,rw
Not only will it not mount but it causes other problems, the main one is
shutdown does not work. It hangs part way through shutdown and I have to hold
power button to shut down

[Bug 315684] Re: nautilus crashes while trying to mount NAS

2009-01-28 Thread dancer58
Additional Information

When I try to mount a folder on my storage device in Nautilus it does part of
the mount
On the left pane of Nautilus I see the folder I'm trying to mount but when I
try to open it it dissapears. I looked at the folder it should have mounted to
but it was not there, I did this before I tried to open it from the left pane
of Nautilus.
After this Nautilus would not show the contents of storage when I clicked on
go, network, then storage

This has quit working lately also:
sudo mount -t smbfs //192.168.1.11/PUBLIC /home/harold/AA/PUBLIC -o nounix,rw

I have no way to mount the storage disk now unless I boot to WinXP or
Win7

Any help would be appreciated

sudo mount -t smbfs //192.168.1.11/barb /mnt/barb -o nounix,rw

[Bug 315684] Re: nautilus crashes while trying to mount NAS

2009-01-26 Thread dancer58
Nautilus does mount and unmount most of the time

Clicking Go then Network works every time, the problem comes when I
click on storage-7988 to show the shared folders, sometimes it doesn't
show anything, the rest of the time it shows the shared folders

If I click on one of the shared folders it will mount it part of the
time. The rest of the time I get one of two errors:

ERROR BOX #1
The folder contents could not be displayed.
Sorry, could not display all the contents of public on storage-7988: No data
available

ERROR BOX #2
Could not display smb://storage-7988/public/.
Error: No data available
Please select another viewer and try again.

I can click OK on the error box to clear it, try again and it will mount

I suspect it is a timing error

If after a share opens and I click on the back arrow most of the time it
will not go back to the previous page

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal
with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport
report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic
 retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport
 in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash
 report you wish to submit.

If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
 /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in
a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to
 report.
I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 291879] [NEW] Operation not supported by backend

2008-10-31 Thread dancer58
Public bug reported:

Linux asus 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP Thu Oct 30 04:18:38 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

When trying to copy pictures from PC to phone ( samsung SCH-U706 with SD memory
card ) I get error: Operation not supported by backend
Copying pictures from phone to PC works

I can use 'send to' to copy contacts from PC to phone but can not send
contacts from phone to computer ( both work in Hardy) Maybe a different
problem ?

Installed bluetooth programs:
bluetooth, python-bluez, gnome-bluetooth, bluez, bluez-network, bluez-audio,
blues-cups, bluez-serial, bluez-input, libbtctl4, libbluetooth2, libbluetooth3,
libbluetooth-dev, blues-alsa, blues-gstreamer, obexpushed, obex-date-server,
gnome-vfs-obexftp, obexftp, bluez-utils.

Anything I can try ?

Probably has something to do with the phone with the SD card

[Bug 198774] Re: nautilus

2008-03-12 Thread dancer58
One of the updates has changed the problem
Now neither Nautilus or Thunar can see the camera ( does not mount camera like
it use to ). I can still move pictures from camera with F-spot but have no way
to delete pictures in camera.
It would be great if F-spot could remove pictures from camera

Thanks
Harold

[Bug 190497] Re: nautilus left pane problem

2008-02-25 Thread dancer58
Problem also in alpha5

More info:
I have Nautilus left pane set for tree
When I open Nautilus the first time after booting and try to open filesystem
tree (click on triangle to the left of filesystem) is when I get the problem.
If I open filesystem in right pane (click on filesystem) Nautilus will work
right until next reboot

[Bug 190497] Re: nautilus left pane problem

2008-02-11 Thread dancer58
I hope this helps
I am sending to pictures that I hope will help explain my explantion

Nautilus left pane problem

When Nautilus is opened Home folder is on top, next is File System, then
C, then D, then E then H (see left pane of picture Nautilus-1)

When I click on the triangle next to File System (picture Nautilus-1), File
System goes to the bottom and C is where File System was (see Picture
Nautilus-2) and it says loading under C. I can open all others and all of them
work OK.
I can click on C and it will open in the right pane (loading is still displayed
under C in left pane)
If I then click on the triangle beside C Nautilus closes and reopens

I tried opening Nautilus in terminal window and I found Nautilus worked
right if I used ROOT terminal but did not work right if I used user
terminal.

2008-02-09 Thread dancer58
Public bug reported:

Problem:
Nautilus left pane problem

When Nautilus is opened Home folder is on top, next is File System, then
