[Bug 518508] Re: on occasion, waking from suspend doesn't prompt for password
I think Jamie is taking liberties marking this a dupe of #369359, which was just closed because the user didn't have Lock screen when screensaver is active checked. [Bug 27541] Re: Touchpad blocking time should be a gconf setting
Henrique, I respectfully disagree with the assertion that it is simply a matter of timing. This is very reproducible for me regardless of the delay set with syndaemon. If you have access to a MacBook Pro 6,2 or similar hardware, I encourage you to try this test to see it for yourself: Open a terminal and right-click the title bar and chose: 'Always on top', and enter the following: syndaemon -i 10 -k That should disable the touchpad from activating for 10 seconds after the last keystroke. Overkill I know, but necessary to demonstrate the error and remove any speculation about this being a timing issue. Here is how you can see the bug: With that terminal open and 'on-top', it should be toggling between 'enabled' and 'disabled'. Type some text in a field (respond to this comment, for example.) Be sure to position your cursor in a position where it will be obvious if it registers a click (at the top, left-most line of this text box, for example.) As you type, occasionally tap the touchpad. If your hardware is also experiencing this bug, you will notice that the cursor is repositioned and your typing jumps to the upper-left of the textbox, even though it has been much less than 10 seconds since your last kestroke. Not every time, but it does happen. If this happens while you are attempting to compose an email, writing a paragraph or sentence, or simply filling in a single textfield, I suspect you too would quickly become extremely frustrated with this bug. If this isn't reproducible on the hardware you have, I recommend opening a 'wishlist' item for the gconf setting discussed above. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/27541 Title: Disable Touchpad while typing doesn't work consistently - hardware-specific? -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

It works as expected when I hold ctrl and press pgup or pgdn. :) -- tabs don't respond correctly to ctrl+shft+[pgup|pgdn] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224190 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 222337] [NEW] calculator display scrolls off the edge; truncates decimals; displays incorrect result
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gcalctool Steps to reproduce: open Calc. entered the following sum: 980+544.69+519.69+515.68 Result: 2560 Expected result: 2560.06 Nothing on the display indicates that the decimal portion has been hidden. Unsuspecting users have no reason to question that the sum simply rounds to an even number. I consider this a major bug in a calculation program. The fix would be to show (via a scroll bar) that there is more data to the right, or force the right-most digit to be displayed by default. Images attached. Running fully updated Hardy. [Bug 126333] Re: [GUTSY] Regression - Volume Control using gnome panel applet and keyboard shortcut alternates mute / % volume during sliding
Great video, Andrea! The mute icon and balloon tip also shows up if you simply point to the volume applet and spin the mouse scroll wheel. Steps to reproduce: 1.) Install Ubuntu 2.) Point mouse to Volume Applet 3.) Spin scroll wheel and watch the applet change into a mute icon momentarily I reproduced the symptoms using the following versions, on multiple platforms: 7.10, 8.04 Alpha 6, 8.04 Beta -- [GUTSY] Regression - Volume Control using gnome panel applet and keyboard shortcut alternates mute / % volume during sliding https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/126333 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 126333] Re: [GUTSY] Regression - Volume Control using gnome panel applet and keyboard shortcut alternates mute / % volume during sliding
It is NOT fixed in Hardy Alpha 6. At least not when installed to HD. It's MUCH better than it was; in fact it doesn't seem to jump around at all now. But the volume applet still displays muted when it is not. Attached are three cropped screenshots. Because balloon tips are not included in a screencapture, you'll have to take my word that the balloon tip was displaying Master: 12%, Master: Muted, Master: 19%. The volume level was not muted and sounded normal. Ubuntu version info is below. I'm glad to provide any more data as requested. Please keep in mind that we're not all developers here, so asking me which code segment I'm referring to or demanding a backtrace might result in a glazed-over look. :) $ uname -a Linux hostname 2.6.24-12-generic #1 SMP Wed Mar 12 23:01:54 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux $ cat /etc/lsb-release DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION=Ubuntu hardy (development branch) ** Attachment added: volumeApplet.zip http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12688953/volumeApplet.zip -- [GUTSY] Regression - Volume Control using gnome panel applet and keyboard shortcut alternates mute / % volume during sliding https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/126333 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 155390] Re: Gutsy, Volume applet shows mute icon intermittently; volume adjusts non linearly with scroll wheel
The problem is easily reproducible for me. What can I do to help? Not sure what 'sending it upstream' means. Also, is there some way I can display the mouse scroll-wheel values real-time on the screen? I could try to capture a short video showing both the mouse scroll-wheel values and the volume applet response to those values and attach it to this bug report. -Mike -- Gutsy, Volume applet shows mute icon intermittently; volume adjusts non linearly with scroll wheel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155390 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-media in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 155390] Re: Gutsy, Volume applet shows mute icon intermittently; volume adjusts non linearly with scroll wheel
** Summary changed: - Gutsy, Volume applet shows mute icon momentarily while changing volume + Gutsy, Volume applet shows mute icon intermittently; volume adjusts non linearly with scroll wheel ** Description changed: This is the bug in Gutsy, package is Volume applet. - While changing the volume using volume applet, volume applet momentarily - shows the mute icon even when the sound is not set 0. Only mute icon is - shown, sound is not actually muted. + While changing the volume using the scroll wheel of the mouse hovering + over the volume applet, volume applet intermittently shows the mute icon + even when the sound is not set 0. Only mute icon is shown, sound is not + actually muted. The volume level changes are slightly nonlinear. Now even if you slightly change the volume, volume applet displays the correct icon. This happened when I was changing the volume using mouse scroll. ** Tags added: icon jump mute nonlinear scroll volume -- Gutsy, Volume applet shows mute icon intermittently; volume adjusts non linearly with scroll wheel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155390 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-applets in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
