[Bug 1689825] Re: gnome-keyring not unlocked on boot
The following seems to have got me running normally again. Working on the theory the keyring file was somehow corrupted, I deleted the keyring file... rm ~/.local/share/keyrings/login.keyring ...and rebooted. A new keyring file has been generated and everything looks good for now! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-keyring in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1689825 Title: gnome-keyring not unlocked on boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1689825/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1689825] Re: gnome-keyring not unlocked on boot
On my machine I'm unable to get any of the above workarounds to unlock the keyring. Entering... gnome-keyring-daemon --replace --foreground --components=secrets,ssh,pcks11 ...ends in the terminal hanging at "SSH_AUTH_SOCK=/run/user/1000/keyring/ssh".
I am experiencing the same issue on one of my two machines. The 'Password and Keys' padlock icon next to 'Login' remains locked even with the correct password, and I'm unable to use Chrome, access e-mail etc.. I'm no expert but, in case it helps, these are two differences between the two machines I'm aware of... - the machine with the problem has an encrypted installation and the other not. Otherwise both installations are similar (basic 16.04 and not much else) - if I enter "ps aux | grep keyring" I get two 'gnome-keyring-daemon' processes listed on the problem machine (one for user 'lightdm' and one for myself), and only one on the machine without the problem (user is myself) The machine with the problem is almost useless for the moment - would be great to get a solution.

Generation Please ensure you have packages with debug symbols installed. You can do this by following the instructions at DebuggingProgramCrash. Make sure the GNU Debugger is installed. sudo apt-get install gdb Start the program under control of gdb: gdb program 21 | tee ~/gdb-program.txt (gdb) handle SIG33 pass nostop noprint (gdb) set pagination 0 (gdb) run arguments, if any (If the program must run as root, use sudo gdb instead of just gdb above.) The program will start. Perform any actions necessary to reproduce the crash. If the program hangs but doesn't crash you can press ctrl+c in gdb while the program is frozen and then continue with the next step. Retrieve a backtrace: (gdb) backtrace full (gdb) info registers (gdb) x/16i $pc (gdb) thread apply all backtrace (gdb) quit Attach the complete output from GDB, contained in gdb-program.txt, in your bug report. [Bug 190514] Re: gnome-vfs-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in _dl_fixup()
Does this really make sense ? it's tagged as need-i386-retrace, you wrote that automatic retracer will pick it up and do a stacktrace, so stop sending (non-useful) info until then. a month later you post that your closing it because it needs more info ? and it's still tagged as needing i386-retrace. do you want me to do the i386-retrace, and the stacktrace since your automatic system did not ? closing this bug, basically does not fix the bug, that is in a final product. what' s up with the auto-system ?, I know sometimes the auto-stuff does not get a valid-useable result, but was it even tried here ? I would ask what commands do I need to run for you'all but, that hard drive is not connected on this computer right now, so I probably could not give much further info anyway. It just sounds like there is a jumping of the gun to close the bug as Invalid, when it should probably marked as Incomplete at least. Both labels make it sound like I did something wrong or just bug dumped, but that is another thing altogether. Maybe it doesn't matter, the final product is out already out, maybe it's been fixed already, maybe somebody loaded this on there friend's computer to show them how cool ubuntu is, and for them to try it and this bug came up. [Bug 195951] Re: Couldn't display network:///.
Yes, I did re-start, a few times. I think new kernel change fixed this for me on both computers that I observed this message on, thanks. So, you'all can close this as far as I'm involved, I did file a bug for the new error I get related to this. I use the current hardy one, when I get an error, I soon check for updates, upgrades, and distro-upgrades. I tried to use the c.d. to upgrade but I haven't really learned how to use it without having to access the internet. I did run the computer off of the Live/Install C.D. and referred the tag accordingly then. I took a guess that this was Alpha 5, since I had tried to get all updates since Alpha 5 came out multiple times and they had mostly installed, I also asked aQuestion on the Answer board and the one reply I got made it sound like I had all updates. I would like to know if there is a way to know which version Ubuntu you have, the command listed when your filing a bug is not specific enough. It just says Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04, I was even requested not to use it, because someone though it was more confusing or something like that. You all may know by kernel numbers, is there a list somewhere? Thanks to you'all for working with me on the tag thing, I probably don't use them quite right, I have read a little about them, I'm just trying to figure out ways to differ the reports from which computer, using which version, which seems to be getting harder to do since privacy concerns, a choice would be nice. I have seen reports related to Gutsy, and Hardy and such, but those also are not specific enough, for me at least, maybe they work fine for you all. [Bug 180795] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in __pthread_mutex_unlock_usercnt()
I understand the request for not attaching a crash file, so the preferred method is for me to open up another bug report and what link to it, what for it to be duplicated checked, posting info there till it gets dupped, then posting requested info on original? Is this a temporary situation ? Till, a time when we can attach additional info to a current crash report ? This sounds like a lot more work for you'all. Since isn't there some commands to run off a full crash report that would give you a lot of info you'all might need, and is a somewhat easy way to confirm a crash or not. If this is the perferred method, then that explains why there are so many bugs filed, when I go to file a report, I sometimes have to choose between multiple reports with the default name, which is what I like to use, when a crash self reports, and between whatever bug name such reporter chooses to use, then which one ? the newest one, the oldest number one ? the one last touched, and invalid one, an incomplete one ? I guess it doesn't matter if you just file a new one everytime. I am using the current Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 Alpha , as far as I know. I only ran the Live C.D. for a little while to try to test so stuff, and try to upgrade off it, which I don't seem to know how to do, without re-installing everything.
