[Bug 69311] drag drop of panel items partially broken

2006-10-30 Thread sven.lug-dorsten
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Hi!

gnome-panel has this drag-dropping files from nautilus feature.
This works normal.

But moving those icons with the left mouse button is broken:
- you can not drag drop back from panel to desktop, or to another panel
- you can not move such a icon from panel position into the drawer applet
(this only works for normal icons from menu, not self added drag dropped items.
This all workes normal on a dapper system.)

My use case that got broken:
I drag dropped five pdf file's to the panel, i thought thats messy and added
the drawer applet. I tried moving the pdf icons from panel into the drawer
panel, which did not work and created only question marks.

regards, Sven

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus-cd-burner

I just burned a cd from .iso with a edgy system. I have got a CD burner able to
burn 48X speed.
The nautilus-cd-burner offers a maximum of 57X and several strange values. I am
used to have 4,8,16,24,32,40,48.

[Bug 62210] Evolution crashes opening a png picture with View Inline

2006-09-24 Thread sven.lug-dorsten
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I received a mail including 3 png pictures. The mail is pgp signed.
When i open the pictures with the View Inline function it crashed sometimes.

The crash is reproducible, but i have to try several times opening and
closing one or more of the pictures. It did not matter if the mail is
viewed in the preview box or in a separate window.

I can attach 4 stack traces
- the first that happend
- the second, with some more -dbg installed
- the third, with even more -dbg installed
- the fourth one was a viewing the mail in a separate window

2006-08-11 Thread sven.lug-dorsten
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Hi!

when i try sending a attachment from nautilus directly, there is the send to in

Evolution will crash then if the mailadress entered is fo the format

[Bug 45279] Crashed on attaching a .pdf file with drag drop to mail from smb:// location

2006-05-17 Thread sven.lug-dorsten
Public bug reported:

Subject: Crashed on attaching a .pdf file with drag drop to mail

Distribution: Ubuntu 6.06 (dapper)
Package: Evolution
Priority: Major
Version: GNOME2.14.1 unspecified
Gnome-Distributor: Ubuntu
Synopsis: Crashed on attaching a .pdf file with drag drop to mail
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Mailer
Bugzilla-Version: unspecified
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.14.1)
Description:
Description of the crash:
Crashed on attaching a .pdf file.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. clicked new email - typed in the receiver's mail-adress
2. open a nautilus window from a smb:// location, containing a .pdf file
3. drag drop it to the mail window - crash-dialog

Expected Results:
no crash of course

How often does this happen?
first time, can try again and do some tests

Additional Information:
The file was drag dropped form a spatial nautilus window to the mail
window.
The file source of the file was a smb:// location with authentication.
The file's name is: Debugging with GDB - the GNU Source-Level
Debugger.pdf Thats no joke ;-)
Perhaps the spaces in the filename are the problem, i can see the grey
crashed evolution window. I can see that the file looks like it has been
attached, but the filename looks like this:
Debugging%
20with%
20GDB%20-%
20the%
...rest is hidden.

I updated ubuntu dapper today and checked afterwards again,
It crashed again with the file drag-dropped from the smb:// location.
It did not crash when i copied the file to my home-dir and drag dropped it from
there to the new mail window.

[Bug 43336] Re: wrong key combination printed for key combination in evolution: msg go to next unread

2006-05-17 Thread sven.lug-dorsten
i changed the description, so its not about a impossible key-
combination, but about the wrong text correlated with the keys.

** Summary changed:

- impossible key combination in evolution: msg go to next unread
+ wrong key combination printed for key combination in evolution: msg go to
next unread

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: evolution

  Hi!

- with my german keyboard its not possible to me to use the key
- combination ctrl+[ or ctrl+]. Or at least i dont know how.
+ in the german translation go to next/last unread message has the
+ short-keys strg + '[' and ']'. strg is like ctrl in english.

- On german keyboards the characters '[' and ']' can be typed in by
- pressing shift+8 and shift+9.
+ The key combination connected to the action is in reality 'alt gr' + '['
+ and ']'.

- But the key combination ctrl+shift+8 and ctrl+shift+9 doesnt work to
- perform the Go To next/last unread message action.
+ Translation should be fixed from strg to alt gr i suppose.

- If i did not get it wrong, please:
-
- * short term bug fix
- use a possible key combination
-
- * long term bug fix:
- There should be some sort of a framework or support from gtk/gnome-libs to
include user-customizable key-combinations for actions that are inside the
menu and the toolbar. Perhaps the toolbar editor is a good place to implement
this.
+ (is it wrong in english too? does the english evolution react on alt2
+ with + '[' and ']' instead of ctrl + '[' and ']'.)

  kind regards, Sven

[Bug 44603] evolution does not view all my emails with imap

2006-05-13 Thread sven.lug-dorsten
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Hi!

i just cleaned up my emails on a imap folder.

Using ctrl-a i marked all in one imap-folder and deleted them after i
copied them to a local folder. (yes, i did not use mv)

After this evolution still showed 69 unread emails in this folder, no
matter what. No search/filter active!

I made a screenshot and i saved the html file of the web-interface, where the
emails are shown normally.
But i dont know how to attach files to this bug-report.

kind regards, Sven

[Bug 43760] Re: warning dialogs steal focus

2006-05-13 Thread sven.lug-dorsten
iam totally on your side! my workflow is often interrupted with this
popups, too

But, warning messages are there to warn you and get noticed. Perhaps its
essential for you to notice that you can receive or send emails at the
moment. Perhaps not.

A dream of a solution would be:
Making it possible to minimize evolution to a icon in the notification area, or
a panel-applet. Then you have the possibility to show notification messages
instead of popups. Perhaps mail-notification can do this job, and act more like
a remote-control for evolution. On my notebook i often have interruptions and
changes in the network-connections and dont use the mail-notification because
of this.

Using notification-messages would be better than popup warning dialogs,
they dont steal focus. And they stay a while or until you click them as
ack. away.

[Bug 43336] impossible key combination in evolution: msg go to next unread

2006-05-07 Thread sven.lug-dorsten
Public bug reported:

Affects: evolution (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Binary package hint: evolution

Hi!

with my german keyboard its not possible to me to use the key
combination ctrl+[ or ctrl+]. Or at least i dont know how.

On german keyboards the characters '[' and ']' can be typed in by
pressing shift+8 and shift+9.

But the key combination ctrl+shift+8 and ctrl+shift+9 doesnt work to
perform the Go To next/last unread message action.

If i did not get it wrong, please:

* short term bug fix
use a possible key combination

* long term bug fix:
There should be some sort of a framework or support from gtk/gnome-libs to
include user-customizable key-combinations for actions that are inside the
menu and the toolbar. Perhaps the toolbar editor is a good place to implement
this.

kind regards, Sven

Public bug reported:

Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu)

 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Hi!

i used to open the logout/shutdown dialog and shut-down the system by
pressing alt-s, since the s key was underlined only in the word
Aus_schalten.

Since last update, also the word _Schlafmodus has the key s
underlined, therefore pressing the key alt-s does not work anymore. Only
the focus is toggled between the two buttons.

I suggest having these active-characters in the words so they are not
ambiguous:

Ab_melden
Benutzer _wechseln
_Bildschirm sperren
Schlaf_modus
_Ruhezustand
_Neustarten
Aus_schalten
_Abbrechen

If i write at the position were the cursor started from (7th character),
text orientation is correct.

look at a sample video (with mplayer)
http://poweroftwo.de/textshift.3gp

This happens with 2.4.1-0ubuntu7 as well with 2.6.1-0ubuntu1.

[Bug 35796] Crashed opening a sent email with read receipt

2006-03-27 Thread sven.lug-dorsten
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/35796

Comment:
Hi,

i noticed this happens reproducable for one email in my local sent folder, but
not in my imap sent folder. And when i copy that email to my imap-sent folder i
can open it without problems. I want to point out preview is no problem, but
opening with double click forces the crash.

Here is the trace:
