[Bug 525284] Re: Brasero freezes the whole system when blanking a CDRW.
I've been told this is similar to another bug: CD/DVD not recognised after being blanked. As I don't have any more blank discs, I cannot provide you with any more information at the moment. Please try using Brasero on as many Ubuntu systems as possible, especially 64-bit ones (I'm using 64-bit Ubuntu), hopefully you will find out more. Cheers. -- Brasero freezes the whole system when blanking a CDRW. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525284 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 525284] [NEW] Brasero freezes the whole system when blanking a CDRW.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: brasero Tried fully blanking (un-ticked Fast blanking) a CDRW. Ubuntu 9.10 (64-bit) seemed to freeze - the screen went blank, the mouse was working, but nothing else would happen. I have reported problems in the past about DVDRW and CDRW type discs not being recognised after being blanked - maybe this problem is related to that? How do you kill a non-responding program in Linux? I was able to press the CTRL ALT and F1 keys and get a command screen, but couldn't kill Brasero as I don't know how to. In the end, I had to hit the reset button on my PC. Yes, the hardware in my computer is working fine, no problems of any kind. [Bug 497232] [NEW] Does not recognise DVDRW after being blanked
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Once I blank a DVDRW using Brasero, the DVD drive is no longer recognised. Blank discs are just not recognised or usable by any CD/DVD writing tool in Ubuntu. I also suspect blank discs are being formatted at the wrong capacity. I know the DVD drive works properly in Windows. Using: Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit. Not sure if this bug report is in the correct category, but it's a major problem!
