This morning's (at least for me morning) updates resulted in new versions of compiz and xserver-xorg-video-intel packages. compiz: Version: 1:0.8.3+git20090917-0ubuntu4 xserver-xorg-video-intel: Version: 2:2.8.1-1ubuntu2 I can confirm that indeed the intel 845G driver has been blacklisted again: # blacklist based on the pci ids # See http://wiki.compiz-fusion.org/Hardware/Blacklist for details #T= 1002:5954 1002:5854 1002:5955 # ati rs480 #T=$T 1002:4153 # ATI Rv350 #T=$T 8086:2982 8086:2992 8086:29a2 8086:2a02 8086:2a12 # intel 965 #T=$T 8086:2a02 # Intel GM965 T=$T 8086:3577 8086:2562 # Intel 830MG, 845G (LP: #259385) BLACKLIST_PCIIDS=$T unset T However ... [Bug 91149] Re: Evolution Emoticons / Smileys
I have replied also in BugZilla http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419350 The situation is basically the following: When using the menu item the displayed emoticon is not always in line with the text (see attachment). When using automatic text to emoticon conversion, the red cross is displayed. Typing one backspace brings back the typed characters. ** Attachment added: Evolution emoticons: Text versus Image http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8800678/Evolution-Emoticons.png -- Evolution Emoticons / Smileys https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/91149 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 91149] Re: Evolution Emoticons / Smileys
I have the same issue and added a comment to the bug at GNOME.org (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419350) to indicate that the problem is back in version 2.10.1 of Evolution. Reason for doing so is the fact that the bug at GNOME.org was initiated on Evolution 2.9.92 -- Evolution Emoticons / Smileys https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/91149 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 88386] Re: Confused calculator buttons
I have recently upgraded to Feisty. Although the calculator had no issues on the cleanly installed Feisty in the Virtual Machine, it has the same issue now as in Edgy. So I have confused calculator buttons (still/again). -- Confused calculator buttons https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/88386 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

As can be seen in the uploaded files, the divide button indicates a minus sign (-) while the multiply button shows double quotes (). This is the same in all four calculator views. [Bug 92776] [apport] gnome-panel crashed with SIGSEGV
Public bug reported: I am running Feisty in VirtualBox. My main OS is Edgy and my hardware is a Dell Latitude D620. Received a notification from Update Manager that updates were available and started update manager. Just out of curiosity and to monitor progress I normally switch on Show details The last manage in the details window shows setting up linux- restricted-modules-generic (2.6.20.11.7). The window however also indicates that all changes were applied. This is when the error showed up. Yes the Feisty version works fine. No problems there. [Bug 88386] Confused calculator buttons
Public bug reported: I am having totally confused calculator (Applications -- Accessories -- Calculator) buttons. If I look at the right column of buttons (in basic view): * The second from the top shows the subtract sign (-) but when I hover over the button it indicates Divide and when I click it it actually gives the divide sign (/) * The third from the top shows the double quotes () but when I hover over the button it indicates Multiply and when I click it it actually gives the multiply sign (*) * The fourth from the top shows the multiply sign (x) but when I hover over the button it indicates Subtract and when I click it it actually gives the subtract sign (-). So the only correct buttons in the right column are the top one (Change sign) and the bottom one (Add). This applies btw for every view of the calculator but found this view the easiest to explain. I am running Edgy Eft (6.10) on a Dell Latitude D620. I have also a thread on this subject which can be found at: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=370987 A similar problem is also described in this thread: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=272692 As indicated in my thread by AstalaVista, both threads are started by someone in the Netherlands.
