[Bug 1714787] Re: Launching chocolate-doom or prboom-plus crashes Wayland session

2017-11-27 Thread Jon Dowland
Can you try either prboom or chocolate-doom with the '-nofullscreen'
command-line option? My hunch is the problem is related to trying to
change the display resolution whilst entering fullscreen mode.

It's likely actually an SDL1 bug. In Chocolate Doom's case, we are
moving to SDL2 with the next release (v3) which we consider to be the
proper way to address bugs like these, although I don't think prboom has
any plans to change.

[Bug 1714787] Re: Launching chocolate-doom or prboom-plus crashes Wayland session

2017-09-03 Thread Alex Jones
This second report from apport-collect is from a different machine
running the 4.12 stock Ubuntu kernel and official Nvidia drivers, with
the Nvidia configuration set to enable Wayland. The browser does not
crash on that machine, but chocolate-doom still crashes the session.

On the 4.12 default Ubuntu kernel, the browser crashes as well while
trying to report the bug, although it doesn't bring the Wayland session
down with it.

This happens on both the standard Ubuntu kernel and the latest mainline
kernel. This report is from the mainline kernel.
