Hi Omer I think it is good that Ubuntu is/has developed the use of the system on a usb stick. I tried it a while ago. I think i did not follow the instruction too well. It resulted in the computer looking only on the usb for the operating system and I'd not copied it properly. So when I turned it on nothing happened!! Fortunately someone like yourself helped me out, and got it working again. I've been a bit reluctant to try again! I've got some big work commitments this week so will read it carefully next week and have another go. (As you probably guess I don't work in IT). Hello all I'm afraid my lack of computing skills has let me down again! I tried to run 10.10 to see if it cured the problem. I put a Linux Format magazine DVD in my netbook computer, It has a version of 10.10. I found the ISO image but do not know what to do next! I tried closing down to see if it would auto boot. It did and opened the Magazine. but I still did not know how to run it from the DVD. I hope that me at least letting you know of the issue helps. I also saw in the October edition of Linux Format that the problem was vaguely referred to in an article. If there is a simple way to use 10.10 live let me know and I'll try again. If it is hassle don't worry. I'll find a way of ripping CDs on another computer and copying them to the netbook. I actually think this bug might be an issue with gvfs.
