In Ubuntu, we want to add support in LightDM for displaying the selected

Ideally that would happen in the AccountsService layer. I'll work on a
patch, but I wanted to check in first and see:

A) If this is something ya'll are interested in too.

B) What names you would want to use. I'm thinking a mirror of IconFile,
so BackgroundFile in the DBus API, background_file in the C API, and
Background in the keyfile.

[Bug 901611] [NEW] DVD burns ok, but no files / content afterwards

2011-12-08 Thread Savvas Radevic
Public bug reported:

1. I insert a blank DVD, select Do nothing at the popup for blank dvds.
2. I open brasero through dash (ubuntu unity)
or in this case, I used the debug command in the terminal:

brasero --brasero-burn-debug --brasero-media-debug  brasero-debug.txt

3. I select Data Project, press the green + icon to add multiple files
4. I make sure the total file size is not over 4GiB and select my blank dvd and
click Burn.
5. I select 8.0x speed and I burn it
6. Progress completes without errors and ejects the media.
7. I insert the media again to check and I get no popup. The DVD device/media
is not even mounted at nautilus.

* Attached brasero-debug.txt
* I don't know if it matters, but I have disabled the file checksum and image
checksum plugins.
* DVD-RW media burns and works fine afterwards (at 4.0x speed).

[Bug 885939] Re: notify-osd causes the gnome classic session to fail

2011-12-08 Thread Sebastien Bacher
 Please backport the fixes to Oneiric.

the fix needs to be tested and confirmed to work on precise first, here
unity is started instead of compiz when selecting GNOME classic but the
session log indicates it takes the right default profile so like
something tweaked on my installed, still confirmation on whether it
works from other would be useful

and click Burn.
  5. I select 8.0x speed and I burn it
+ (The files are to be burned directly, without making an iso image)
  6. Progress completes without errors and ejects the media.
  7. I insert the media again to check and I get no popup. The DVD device/media
is not even mounted at nautilus.

  * In windows, the brasero-burned DVD appears blank.
  * Attached brasero-debug.txt
  * I don't know if it matters, but I have disabled the file checksum and image
checksum plugins.
  * DVD-RW media burns and works fine afterwards (at 4.0x speed).

[Bug 874265] Re: Launcher - remove the embossed 'home' image from the Nautilus Launcher icon

2011-12-08 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package nautilus - 1:3.2.1-2ubuntu1

---
nautilus (1:3.2.1-2ubuntu1) precise; urgency=low

  * Resynchronize on Debian
  * Remaining diffs:
  * debian/changelog, debian/rules: set epoch number (which was added by error)
  * debian/control.in:
- build-Depend on lpi, libappindicator3-dev, libunity-dev
- don't build-depends on individual girs, the libraries do that
- don't build with tracker, don't suggests it
- nautilus-data should not need to recommends nautilus,
  lower to a suggests so file-roller doesn't bring in nautilus
- nautilus Replaces nautilus-data, Debian installed the dbus service there
  * debian/mount-archive.desktop:
  * debian/mount-archive.desktop.in:
- New nautilus context menu item to allow mounting zip, iso, etc
  * debian/nautilus.gsettings-override:
- Change the default desktop icon configuration
  * debian/nautilus.install:
- don't move the autostart to usr
- install mount-archive menu
- install nautilus-folder-handler.desktop
  * debian/nautilus-data.install:
- install apport hook
  * debian/nautilus-folder-handler.desktop:
- ship a copy of nautilus.desktop with NoDisplay=true since some user
  configurations refer to it
  * debian/patches/01_lpi.patch:
- Launchpad changes.
  * debian/patches/02_additional_marge_for_unity.patch:
- ensure we don't move desktop icons when locking or unlocking the unity
  launcher
  * debian/patches/03_translations_list_update.patch:
- Translate the mount-archive menu entry
  * debian/patches/04_suppress_umount_in_ltsp.patch:
- Don't list unmount and eject actions on LTSP clients
  * debian/patches/05_desktop_menu_export.patch:
- export the desktop menus for appmenu in unity
  * debian/patches/06_never_exec_nonexec_launchers.patch:
- Implement non-exec policy for .desktop handler.
  * debian/patches/07_use_application_indicator.patch:
- Use the application-indicator, needs to be updated
  * debian/patches/08_clean_session_capplet.patch:
- use NoDisplay for the new autostart desktop to keep the capplet clean
  * debian/patches/09_no-initial-fade.patch:
- Patch to disable the initial fade-in of the background without disabling
  crossfades when the background is changed.
  * debian/patches/11_copy_skipping_pager.patch:
- after discussion with dx and design, the easier short-time solution is to
  have the copy dialog skipping the pager to be able to launch nautilus even
  with a copy operation in progress
  * debian/patches/12_unity_launcher_support.patch:
- added new patch to include support to the unity launcher.
  When a file operation is in progress the nautilus launcher icon
  gets a progress bar and the count of the active transfers, plus
  a quicklist item to bring on top/show the transfers window.
  * debian/patches/13_translate_unity_launcher.patch:
- list the unity launcher desktop to translate
  * debian/patches/14_bring_del_instead_ctrl_del.patch:
- use Del instead of Ctrl + Del for sending files to the bin
  * debian/patches/15_use-ubuntu-help.patch:
- use the ubuntu documentation
  * debian/patches/16_run_in_gnome_unity.patch:
- handle the background only in GNOME and Unity session
  * debian/patches/17_dont_allow_new_tab_on_desktop.patch:
- Don't allow New tab shortcut on desktop
  * debian/patches/18_fix_crash_in_get_current_uri.patch:
- Upstream patch to fix crash in nautilus_window_slot_get_current_uri()
  * debian/patches/git-0001-Workaround-focus-issues-on-typeahead.patch:
- upstream patch to workaround focus issues on typeahead
  * debian/patches/git_sideplace_sorting.patch:
- backport git commit to sort the places entries by alphabetic order
  rather than coding the list in english order
  * debian/rules:
- use --disable-appindicator
  * debian/source_nautilus.py:
- Apport hook to list versions of files in /usr/lib/nautilus and reassign
  the crashes when there are not due to nautilus code directly
  * Dropped diffs:
  * debian/nautilus.maintscript:
- the conffile was only shipped during part of the Oneiric cycle
  * debian/rules:
- ship an empty nautilus.css rather than none to avoid warnings,
  upstream is shopping the css with theme in the current version

  [ Paul Sladen ]
  * debian/nautilus-home.desktop: Force icon=folder for
'Home Folder' entry to reduce confusion (LP: #874265)

nautilus (3.2.1-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Upload to unstable.
  * debian/control.in:
- Drop Build-Depends on libdbus-glib-1-dev, no longer required.
- Drop Recommends on desktop-base. It was originally added when nautilus
  was patched to show the .desktop icons from the desktop-base package. We
  don't do that anymore, so the Recommends has become obsolete.
- Drop Recommends on consolekit. The ConsoleKit specific functionality has
  been moved into gnome-settings-daemon.

[Bug 885939] Re: notify-osd causes the gnome classic session to fail

2011-12-08 Thread Dmitry Shachnev
@Sebastien: I rebuilt the new version for oneiric, the fix is working
but there are some regressions in Compiz itself (compared to Metacity):

- First time I didn't have any window decorations. I disabled and re-enabled
Window decorations plugin in ccsm, and now they are working;
- Windows (i.e. the Terminal) uppear under the top panel, so one has to use
Alt+mouse to move them;
- Alt+right-click on the panel doesn't work (see bug 891622).

I think we shouldn't backport this fix to Oneiric unless those issues
are resolved.

[Bug 841085] Re: log viewer lists not log by default (incompatible with rsyslog)

2011-12-08 Thread Colin Law
I think it is important that the viewer defaults to showing something.
It is very confusing for someone inexperienced with linux to open the
log file viewer and find it completely empty. It is not obvious that
one should use file open to see something. The gui interface is
supposed to make it easier for inexperienced users.

[Bug 891622] Re: Alt+Right-click doesn't work on gnome-panel when running compiz

2011-12-08 Thread glennric
Compiz should only grab input for the alt key in combination with the
left mouse button, and not with the right mouse button. If this were
done correctly there would not be a conflict, and Alt-Right Click
would still work with the panel, at the same time that Alt-Left Click
is used for window moving.

[Bug 885939] Re: notify-osd causes the gnome classic session to fail

2011-12-08 Thread Fred
Dmitry Shachnev,
The reason that alt+right-click does not work is that Compiz uses
alt+rightclick to resize windows.

So there appears a hotkey conflict because both GNOME Panel and Compiz try to
use the same key combination.
As a workaround I remap Compiz to use WinKey instead of Alt.

[Bug 901788] Re: installer wants to remove python-gobject-cairo and blocks installation of oem-config-gtk on alternate

2011-12-08 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
** Description changed:

  Ubuntu Alternate

  During an OEM installation, the installer wants to remove python-
  gobject-cairo, which is refused because package remove is disabled and
  blocks the installation of oem-config-gtk (which means no way to run
  step 2 of the installation)

  From syslog:

/usr/bin/debconf-apt-progress --no-progress --logstderr -- apt-get -q -y
