But is this really necessary? Three options: - review feedback and pick a sensible default value - add a new option to ccsm - link the actual radius with some other element that makes sense, e.g. the shadow decoration. KDE has a configurable border size somewhere in its theme options (option #2). Gnome 2 used to link the radius with the theme border (option #3). Windows and MacOS (Lion) don't have a configurable size, same as Unity (option #1). I am not sure about Gnome Shell (but the default size seems to be slightly larger than Unity). This is on of those cases where a sensible default, well, makes sense. A size of 8px or 10px would be easier to hit than 5px, without impacting usability negatively (i.e. it still falls within the visible shadow decoration, where you are unlikely to click to raise a window). [Bug 907724] [NEW] can't assign numpad keys correctly to shortcuts
Public bug reported: uname -a : Linux -Ubuntu-x64 3.0.0-14-generic #23-Ubuntu SMP Mon Nov 21 20:28:43 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux running Unity. I switch workspaces a lot so i found it usefull to be able to switch them even quicker by assigning the directions to the arrow keys on the numpad. My numpad is (while Numlock is off) a bunch of PageUp, PageDown, Home, End et cetera keys. When turning numlock on, all these functions are disabled in favor to the numbers. The problem is, that the shortcut is apparently not assigned to the Arrow but the Key itself, so pressing Num4 also triggers the shortcut to switch to the left, even while Numlock is activated. Thus, assigning shortcuts to the NumPad - Arrows makes it absolutely unusable to enter numbers, which in some way is the main use of the numpad. What I'd like it to be like: While the NumLock is off, i can trigger the Shortcut. [Bug 711429] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke()
Now got this crash again. Twice, actually; I'm thinking I can reliably reproduce this on Precise. The steps I followed: 1.) Open Nautilus and start in your home folder. 2.) Hit Ctrl+H to show hidden files and folders. 3.) Navigate into ~/.hedgewars/Demos and copy the replay file(s) in there (this assumes Hedgewars is installed and you have available game replays; more experimentation would be needed to see if other files/folders can be used instead). 4.) Navigate back to the home folder and hit Ctrl+H again to hide hidden files and folders. Go into the ~/Ubuntu One folder. 5.) Attempt to paste what was copied into there. The theme will revert to standard GNOME and Nautilus will close; the paste operation will not occur and an Apport window will come up. A side effect of this crash is that once Nautilus has been triggered to crash like this, it is seemingly impossible to start it again without a reboot, as any attempt to start it will fail and a gnome-settings-daemon Apport crash window will come up instead. This basically breaks graphical file browsing on the user's system. Note too that at step 4 above the files are specifically pasted into the Ubuntu One folder. Just adding my vote here. I have seen this ever since upgrading to 11.10 on multiple machines. It is really annoying. This happens on a 64-bit desktop and a 32-bit laptop. (I can't remember, but I think the laptop had 11.10 installed directly and wasn't an upgrade.) What i get on Precise i386: - on cold boot, nautilus use around 10 Mib - then xsession-errors is recording continously gtk-critical errors, mainly due to both Unity, so i've purged them to slow down this madness. Purging/reinstalling several times or reconfiguring dont help on that side. About 10 Mib errors are recorded per hour and ram used by nautilus is growing the same way , increasing by 10 Mib /hour. - nautilus seems to fill ram with all the events/errors of the system, wonder if zeitgeist is the cause, but cant be removed easily from the system. - even if the nautilus gui is closed, the amount of ram used is not reduced. Latest and greatest with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - the Lucid Lynx When trying to burn a backup DVD, I get the following error reported in the log and the program quits. BraseroChecksumFiles finished with an error BraseroChecksumFiles asked to stop because of an error error = 1 message = File copyright could not be opened (Permission denied) BraseroChecksumFiles stopping Session error : File copyright could not be opened (Permission denied) (brasero_burn_record brasero-burn.c:2839) The problems are 2 fold with this error: (1) I should have been given a means to continue. After all, I had the ability to be root. and I need to make a backup. I guess I SUDO the program, but it AUTO launches, so I'll have to figure that out. (2) The error does not give me that Abs path and with a large backup, it's not possiblel to find the offending file. A search for copyright gives me several hundred hits. Now I have to figure out how to make my backup. I think I have the same issue as @circlecode on Oneiric. In the past, when I ran ssh from any terminal, the gui ssh askpass dialog came up, and my keys were automatically added to the agent. With Oneiric, I have to manually ssh-add my key or I have to enter the passphrase every time I run ssh. Hello, I couldn't click anywhere except in the drawing window (menus working fine). It wasn't a Compiz issue because it occured using both Unity, Gnome 3, KDE, E17 and Xfce. I managed solving it by removing my ~/.gimp-2.6 folder, then restarting Gimp with the tablet plugged in. I've just attempted to reproduce this bug on 11.10 using Rhythmbox 2.90.1 and am unable to do so. When I remove a file from my music library using Edit-Remove then reboot Rhythmbox, the file entry is nowhere to be seen, suggesting that it has been successfully removed from rhythmdb.xml. It turns out I was mistaken. This bug does still affect Rhythmbox and I just wasn't doing it right. The 'Remove' feature works as advertised if the file is not in the folder designated as the music library in the Rhythmbox preferences (~/Music by default).
