[Bug 1008360] [NEW] context panel is shown after startup independent on settings

2012-06-04 Thread LeadMan
Public bug reported:

1)
patben@esp-patben-lin:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Release:12.04

2)
patben@esp-patben-lin:~$ apt-cache policy rhythmbox
rhythmbox:
  Zainstalowana: 2.96-0ubuntu4
  Kandydująca: 2.96-0ubuntu4
  Tabela wersji:
 *** 2.96-0ubuntu4 0
500 http://pl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3)
As described in subject: context panel is shown after startup independent on
settings.

4)
I expect context panel to be turned off.

Steps to reproduce:
1.Start rhythmbox
2.Mark option Viev>Context panel
3.Restart rhythmbox (context panel is shown after startup, and this is proper)
4.UNmark option Viev>Context panel
5.Restart rhythmbox (context panel is still shown after startup, and should be
disabled)

Resize border to 3px works for me.
But i think this bug will never be resolved in unity 2d, i heard that
canonical will discontinue unity2d in future versions of ubuntu. Anybody
knows if this is true?

[Bug 861443] Re: There is no easy way to change proxy settings in Ubuntu 11.10

2012-06-04 Thread Little Jawa
Still no way to set exceptions to proxy settings in the network applet
in 12.04.

I would also add that with the previous network settings GUI, we had the
possibility to create "profiles" for proxy settings. It was quite useful when
you worked regularly at different locations, each with different network
proxy... You just had to select the corresponding profile and everything
worked. Now you have to change your settings manually each time you move to
another location.
Looks like a regression to me :-(

Sam problem with me as point #5. I have very limited options and
'analogue stereo output' is not on the list, only 'analogue stereo
duplex'.

The hardware tab which has now gone (!!) would have been very useful to

Unmanaged Device found; state CONNECTED forced.

I am running Ubuntu server 12.04 LTS with ubuntu-desktop installed. The
eth0 device is not managed by NM. I use NM to connect my 3g Mobile
Broardband USB modem to the internet. I also use firestarter to
provision (Internet Connection Sharing). As of this moment I see no
problems. Either when I use my 3G modem or I plug the eth0 into a router
to gain Internet access.

2012-06-04 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a

[Bug 1007807] Re: could not write bytes: Broken pipe

2012-06-04 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 1008068] Re: Gnome program not running under XFCE since 12.04

2012-06-04 Thread Hadmut Danisch
Maybe that's why you don't understand the bug.

Until ubuntu 11.10 there was a lot for nautilus -n to do, i.e. handle
the desktop background, place the icons, make the icons thumbnails of
the contents. The bug is that this functionality is gone since 12.04.
But obviously if you don't know about this function, you don't see the
problem.

[Bug 995401] Re: Ubuntu 12.04: keyboard layout does not change languages

2012-06-04 Thread Pille
I'm having the same problem. The command 'setxkbmap de' temporarily
solves the problem but after rebooting the system the layout is gone
again. The file /etc/default/keyboard seems to be ok. I just have one
keyboard layout configured selected in the UI which is 'German'.

Please correct that, this bug has nothing to do with gedit.

Just my opinion: The 'up' button is one single-click and very
convenient, for me more convenient than 'previous' and 'next'. I think
it would be much better if the user could configure/decide which buttons
are showing up and which are not, rather than having one of them removed
'arbitrarily'.

[Bug 1008539] [NEW] Wrong volume binding when connecting bluetooth speakers

2012-06-04 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I have a 2.1 speaker system and a Logitech bluetooth adapter for them that
connects to my Asus UL50AG notebook for sound.
In Sound Settings, I then have 2 entries: Built-in Audio Card and Logitech
Adapter.

The problem is that when I connect/reconnect to the bluetooth adapter,
the sound volume knob is not bound to the Logitech Adapter. Instead, in
Sound Settings, the Built-in Audio Card is selected instead of the
Logitech Adapter. And when I use the multimedia keys on my notebook
(Volume Up, Down, Mute), they have effect on the sound coming out of the
notebook, not the external speakers.

The expected result would be that, when I connect/reconnect the
bluetooth adapter, the volume multimedia keys should bound to the new
bluetooth setup, not the internal audio.

treated the same, eject & safely remove (power down, then eject

[Bug 994864] Re: Choppy video with Totem in 12.04 Precise Pangolin

Yes, it still occurs with nVidia drivers at 295.49, even 295.53.
Videos are also choppy in standalone totem. gst123 works fine, so it
would appear that the problem is within totem itself and not the
gstreamer libraries. mplayer-based players work fine (except mplayer2).

[Bug 1008068] Re: Gnome program not running under XFCE since 12.04

2012-06-04 Thread Sebastien Bacher
well, it's likely because xfce already handle the desktop, does it work
if you run xfdesktop -q first then run nautilus -n?

[Bug 822993] Re: Applying Permissions to enclosed files in Nautilus' Folder Properties window doesn't work

2012-06-04 Thread Ken Clive
Shubham,

I am currently working on this issue, and it's a bit complicated because
this is a feature that hasn't been implemented into the button yet. I
am directly consulting with the nautilus developers upstream to resolve
this issue, since I have been familiarizing myself with the nautilus
source over the past week in my spare time.

[Bug 1008563] Re: Some usb flash drives can only be ejected, others only umounted, all usb hdd's only unmounted

2012-06-04 Thread Doug McMahon
I gather the diiference is usb hdd's & some flash drives will be
"Direct-Access" & get the unmount option with gnome media-removable icon
& other flash drives will be "Initializing USB Mass Storage driver..' &
get the eject & drive-removable-media-usb icon

If that's the way it's supposed to be then this report is invalid though
a power down option on any usb storage device would be useful
