[Bug 1171771] [NEW] Incorrect directory size shown in properties dialog
Public bug reported: This bug can be reproduced by selecting a directory with a large number of files occupying significant disk space (e.g. 1GB). Right click the directory in nautilus and select properties. Expected behaviour: In the Contents field of the properties dialog box nautilus should display the correct number of files in the directory and sub-directories and the disk space used (e.g. 67,292 items, totalling 10.3 GB). Or nautilus should indicate that this information is unknown and/or being computed. Actual behaviour: nautilus displays incorrect values for the number of items and disk space (always an underestimate), which periodically update (increase) until the correct values are reached. Between updates there is no indication that the values are still being computed or that the currently displayed values are wrong. [Bug 1160441] Re: Calendar is still in English despite French is selected as the Language during the installation
Well, I'd call it a perceived regression. ;-) What happened is that the installer started to assume/guess that since you selected London as the time zone location, you want that things like numbers, currency, date, and time are displayed using the format conventions in Great Britain.[1] Unfortunately some applications, including indicator-datetime, display the names of weekdays and months in the corresponding language, even if the language you explicitly selected is something else. But the indicator-datetime version in my PPA should fix that. Are you really sure that you installed that package successfully? A simple way to find out is to run this command in a terminal window: dpkg -l | grep indicator-datetime The version should be 12.10.3daily13.03.26-0ubuntu1+daysMonths. [Bug 1160441] Re: Calendar is still in English despite French is selected as the Language during the installation
It's fine that you are able to change the appearance to your liking. :) By selecting France for the regional formats, you get a French locale all through, i.e. what the installer used to deliver before the change. [Bug 1108056] Re: fetching URLs freezes pidgin
** Description changed: + [Impact] + + * Pidgin in 13.04 is not working with our newer glib, startup is racy and hangs ~75% of the time. +An explination of why is available here on the upstream bug https://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/15493#comment:27 + + [Test Case] + + * Boot 13.04 + * Add an AIM account in pidgin (most likely works for others but this is tested) and set it to auto connect + * Close and start pidgin 10 times (be sure to use the buddies - quit menu option) + * If it does not hang even once it is fixed, if it does it is not. + + + [Original Message] + after about two weeks with Pidgin freezing on two different laptops, I made a brand new clean profile and this is what i get $ pidgin -nm (16:52:37) prefs: Reading /home/fernando/.purple/prefs.xml (16:52:37) prefs: Reading /etc/purple/prefs.xml (16:52:37) prefs: /pidgin/browsers/manual_command changed, scheduling save. [Bug 1171943] [NEW] Shut down dialog not show, restarts instead
Public bug reported: This started when I upgraded to Raring. When I select shut down, I don't get the shut down dialog. [Bug 1168467] Re: phy0 - rt2800pci_mcu_status: Error AND [drm:gen6_sanitize_pm] *ERROR*
Hi, I am aware of the fact that it is a driver issue. I had just no luck with reparing it - I hoped the updates will eventually do but no luck there either :-) I can access both wireless and wired network with no problem. The thing that is bothering me is that on boot or wake-up, the wifi takes ages to load (once it connects it's OK) and sometimes it don't (I supend and wake again and it works). This happens more frequently when I am on battery power or when I disconnect a suspended laptop from power and wake it on battery only. [Bug 1124632] Re: Backspace key does not work anymore.
But being unable to change it is a bug. Also Alt+down only can be used to go back one times, even if the navigator displays the previous folders. For example: You are in /username/Images/Wallpapers folder. You Alt+up. You are in /username/Images folder. You Alt+up. You are in /username folder. Now you see that with your mouse you can still go back to the Wallpapers folder, but Alt+down only takes you to the Images folder, and pressing Alt+down does nothing. The second Alt+tab should bring you back to the Wallpapers folder. (Or what's the point of showing the folders you have came from?) Please, don't revert this. [Bug 1168858] Re: Nautilus window opens behind current window
This is a regression from 12.04 to 13.04 and you are determined to pin the blame on Deluge despite my example that simply opening Nautilus from the terminal displays this regression and Deluge does nothing more than call xdg-open. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168858 Title: Nautilus window opens behind current window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1168858/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1168858] Re: Nautilus window opens behind current window
Opening from terminal is not a valid example, since the terminals we currently have, do not set correctly the environment variable needed to pass to nautilus the startup-notification with the event timestamp that caused nautilus to open. I know this, and as you can see I tried to change this upstream, but it's not the case since this is the wanted policy. An application that launches another one should say when this has happened in order to make the WM to focus it (this is important to avoid that applications that takes much time to load won't steal the focus, while you're currently doing something else). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168858 Title: Nautilus window opens behind current window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1168858/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1168858] Re: Nautilus window opens behind current window
I have just realised how ridiculous this is after testing any application. Basically ANY application that the user wishes to open a folder to view the location of a file will be affected in 13.04. [Bug 1168858] Re: Nautilus window opens behind current window
From my position the logic behind the changes just don't make sense and I am thinking of the bigger picture not just Deluge. I can open any file with xdg-open, with the associated application opening focused, file-roller, image viewer, firefox etc... So that begs the question why is Nautilus a special case and we have to jump through hoops to open a Nautilus window focused? An application developer when using xdg-open should not have to worry about special cases involving Nautilus file manager to have the new window focused like every other application. With 13.04 so close to release all the applications that use the 'open folder' feature will encounter this issue and users (inc devs?) will be irate but you have not addressed this concern? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168858 Title: Nautilus window opens behind current window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1168858/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
