[Bug 1229257] Re: assertion failure warnings output
That usually means that a program is importing both the old static bindings (gobject) as well as the introspection bindings (from gi.repository import ...) You must not do both; also, the static bindings have been deprecated for several years now. An easy way to get a proper stack trace that points towards the old static import(s) is to change /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gobject/constants.py to throw something like raise ImportError('no static!') and run your command again. ** Package changed: pygobject (Ubuntu) = pygobject-2 (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: pygobject-2 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid ** Summary changed: - assertion failure warnings output + assertion failure warnings output, imports old static gobject bindings somewhere -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to pygobject in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1229257 Title: assertion failure warnings output, imports old static gobject bindings somewhere To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pygobject-2/+bug/1229257/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1229591] [NEW] [keymap] display brightness keys stop working after saucy upgrade
You have been subscribed to a public bug: On raring (and precise) the display brightness keys (fn+f4 and fn+f5) on my Dell Inspiron 14z turned the brightness up and down. After a saucy upgrade this no longer happens (I don't see the popup brightness bubble either). The other, similar keys (volume adjustment, etc) still work fine. Changing the values in /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness works (temporarily - it gets reset after the screen lock kicks in) I tried following the instructions in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Hotkeys/Troubleshooting but this appears to be out of date (it references /usr/share/doc/udev/README.keymap.txt which does not exist) $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu Saucy Salamander (development branch) Release:13.10 $ apt-cache policy udev udev: Installed: 204-0ubuntu12 Candidate: 204-0ubuntu12 Version table: *** 204-0ubuntu12 0 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ saucy/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: systemd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete -- [keymap] display brightness keys stop working after saucy upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1229591 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

The error reported is not a Program crash. It is an undesired behavior but no crash was observed. The defect is 100% reproducible. Please perform the following steps to produce the defect: 1) Go to System Settings 2) Click on Network 3) Click on All settings tab. Instead of making a transition to System Settings, the window disappears. This issue may not be a critical one but can be reproduced and (hopefully) resolved easily.
