[Bug 1160272] Re: Cannot add IM account (empty setup dialog)

2013-09-24 Thread Kevin Metz
This is still a bug. Much like Yionel I had to kill everything related
to telepathy/keyring/empathy and then when I restarted empathy it
worked. I'd say this is quite a serious bug and one that has made Empaty
unusable for me personally

[Bug 1229257] Re: assertion failure warnings output

2013-09-24 Thread Martin Pitt
That usually means that a program is importing both the old static
bindings (gobject) as well as the introspection bindings (from
gi.repository import ...) You must not do both; also, the static
bindings have been deprecated for several years now. An easy way to get
a proper stack trace that points towards the old static import(s) is to
change /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gobject/constants.py to throw
something like raise ImportError('no static!') and run your command
again.

** Package changed: pygobject (Ubuntu) = pygobject-2 (Ubuntu)

** Changed in: pygobject-2 (Ubuntu)
   Status: New = Invalid

** Summary changed:

- assertion failure warnings output
+ assertion failure warnings output, imports old static gobject bindings
somewhere

[Bug 1229591] [NEW] [keymap] display brightness keys stop working after saucy upgrade

2013-09-24 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

On raring (and precise) the display brightness keys (fn+f4 and fn+f5) on
my Dell Inspiron 14z turned the brightness up and down. After a saucy
upgrade this no longer happens (I don't see the popup brightness bubble
either). The other, similar keys (volume adjustment, etc) still work
fine.

Changing the values in /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness
works (temporarily - it gets reset after the screen lock kicks in)

I tried following the instructions in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Hotkeys/Troubleshooting but this appears to be
out of date (it references /usr/share/doc/udev/README.keymap.txt which
does not exist)

[Bug 1182658] Re: Location services not working in Google Maps

2013-09-24 Thread Olivier Tilloy
I’m seeing the same problem. The browser prompts for authorization to
use the device’s location, but it seems the device is unable to provide
its location. I looked for satellite visibility updates in dmesg, but
couldn’t find anything relevant (`dmesg | grep -i sat` is empty).

[Bug 1229174] Re: Wrong Screen Transition while performing the following steps. SYSTEM SETTINGS -- NETWORK -- Click on All settings tab. Instead of going back to the system settings screen, the wind

2013-09-24 Thread Visahan Bala
The error reported is not a Program crash.
It is an undesired behavior but no crash was observed.

The defect is 100% reproducible. Please perform the following steps to produce
the defect:
1) Go to System Settings
2) Click on Network
3) Click on All settings tab.
Instead of making a transition to System Settings, the window disappears.

This issue may not be a critical one but can be reproduced and
(hopefully) resolved easily.

Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS

Here the Locations.xml entry for Israel:

None of the other locations in Israel is near Jerusalem, nor does any of

Israel missing in gweather - all other countries I checked have an entry
for their capital.

just flashed 2013-09-08.2 build to GN, i see the 'service' process
launch and use 2-11% cpu after pressing 'Allow'

dmesg and eventually webbrowser-app seems to close/crash.

all subsequent attempts to open http://html5demos.com/geo/ prompt for

To eliminate variables, could you try:

  (1.) sudo apt-get install qtlocation5-examples
  (2.)
/usr/lib/arm.../qt5/examples/qtlocation/declarative/flickr/qml_location_flickr

There is a small window having lat/lon markers. You need to tap on
its title bar to start position updates.
If that part works for you, we need to investigate into the
browser/qtwebkit and its use of qtlocation.
