[Bug 1073823] Re: Shotwell does not link movies to events when migrating existing collection
Little more than a year later I tried once again if it was possible to import my existing collection of photoś and movies into shotwell. The movies however still do not get categorized based on their creation date to the events. This is still just like the initial problem. They all get tagged "no event" So I tried a work around: Put all my photo's and movies on an external medium, in a folder named DCIM and see if shotwell can be led to believe that a camera card has been inserterd and start importing from it. However shotwell seems smart enough to see the difference between a usb harddrive and an sd card. It simply won't work, as in it will not detect this drive as a photo carrier to import from! Now this is still the thing that is preventing me from using Shotwell. I really need to have my existing collection categorized in date based events, inlcluding movies. Things would be simple if shotwell would simply take the creation date of the movie file as a last resort for categorizing. I am wondering if there is really no work around for this.. ** Changed in: shotwell (Ubuntu) Status: Expired => New ** Description changed: + Please read the update below concerning v 0.18 + When I start to use Shotwell, I already have a vast collection of photos and camera movies. Thay are all stored in date based Folders. I want to merge it into shotwell and have photo's and movies on the same date linked to the same event. This can in theory be done based on the creation date of the avi, mts etc files. The current situation (v.12.?) is that all movies are put into the category "No event". It is very difficiult to link all (1000+) movies back to their original event manually. It is very difficult to find a movies that was shot in relation to a certain event. The behavior should be like that for camera card imports where movies are indeed linked to the event correctly. In this situation it is almost impossible to migrate from i.e. digikam to shotwell. Yes I think this is a bug. It inhibits normal usage of the program. I think Shotwell is a great alternative, but this issue must be tackled before I can recommend it to my fellow ubuntu users and or use it myself instead of bulky digikam. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to shotwell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1073823 Title: Shotwell does not link movies to events when migrating existing collection To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/1073823/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

This problem persists in 14.04 for me as well. One of the two Google accounts I add will fail even during the same session with the "authorisation required" error. [Bug 1369632] Re: After disconnecting and reconnecting device to MTP host it is not possible to delete a folder using MTP
I can only reproduce this on Ubuntu if I use the old nautilus window still pointing to the files; rather than the newly-opened window from re-connecting the USB cable. This makes it not an issue in mtp; and it's unclear whether this is actually fixable in nautilus/gvfs itself. I'm marking this as Invalid for the mtp project; since it does appear to work properly when you have a valid session on the device (and it's as simple as using the actual window what pops up, above the others, to browse back to the path and delete the folder). I'm also creating a task against gvfs (for lack of a better idea of where to assign this). I'm not sure if it's something that can be done yet or if it actually goes against designed used cases; but on closing the session with MTP, I think the window itself for that should disappear, or at least be cleared of the MTP folder data. You should at the very least no longer be able to see the folder contents. ** Changed in: mtp (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid ** Also affects: gvfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: gvfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1369632 Title: After disconnecting and reconnecting device to MTP host it is not possible to delete a folder using MTP To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1369632/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1365755] Re: keyboard input method system not available from keyboard configuration in gnome-control-center
Hi Daniele, and thanks for your report. Please note that Language Support is a multi-task tool. Besides setting language and regional formats, it also provides an interface for installing languages including language support, which for some languages includes IM engines. So it's not *so* strange that the IM framework selector is there too. With that said, the location may not be optimal. Currently there is also a Text Entry panel, where the actual IM engines are set when applicable, and that panel might be an option. [Bug 296867]
(In reply to comment #91) > Realization of the first three points would require adding a new interface > to gabble. I imagine it as an extension of connection interface providing > settings individually for every account. Would using gdbus codegen just > like in case of the currently implemented otr channel be acceptable here? You could make it go "next to" the Connection just like Xavier's code produces an object "next to" the Channel, yes. (Unfortunately, the fact that, in general, telepathy-glib uses the deprecated dbus-glib instead of GDBus is not going to get fixed, unless someone with a lot more time available than me picks it up. See the various "Telepathy 1.0" bugs for details.) > I > suppose that adding these features would mean some major changes in the > current implementation which is completely closed in the channel interface. Making behind-the-scenes C function calls between the Connection and Channel objects is fine. > There are also things that need to be fixed as stated above: > ... > I understand that they have to be done first before introducing new changes? Yes, I think that would be better than hoping they will be fixed later. I consider those fixes to be merge blockers for these branches, because I don't want to add an interop and security feature that, on closer inspection, turns out to be non-interoperable or insecure :-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296867 Title: empathy needs to support OTR encryption To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/empathy/+bug/296867/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1373577] [NEW] Baobab does not allow resize of panes or change to file tree column width
Public bug reported: Version 3.8.2 on Mint 17 (Cinammon + Xfce), so same result two differnt window managers. baobab: Installed: 3.8.2-1ubuntu1 Candidate: 3.8.2-1ubuntu1 Version table: *** 3.8.2-1ubuntu1 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Description:Linux Mint 17 Qiana Release:17 1) With pie chart view. It is now impossible to resize the pane. This was previously possible, and improved user experience and usability. It's now not there is a bug or a poor decision. 2) The following problem is a bug, and significantly reduces usability. In the now fixed LHS pane with the folder tree you can initially adjust the column size. However if you then open up some of the folder depth (either directly, or by pushing down into the pie chart) the folder column will expand beyond the size chosen, eventually obscuring all the other information columns if needed by the directory width. It's now a complete PITA to use, since you need to scroll back and forth to see anything useful. However, closing the folder expansions so that the tree is now much smaller in width than the expanded column does not now allow a resizing of the column. In fact the whole layout has become rigid, except that in the case of an even wider folder tree being selected it will once again push the column width as much as it needs. ** Affects: gnome-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1373577 Title: Baobab does not allow resize of panes or change to file tree column width To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-utils/+bug/1373577/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1339352] Re: Update to 3.12
My Linked branch is Jacksons merge with the disabled patches refreshed/dropped as required. There is one bug however, that seems to be a gtk theming issue that only affects adwaita (Ubuntu GNOME default theme) in empathy-accounts, when adding a new account, the username field is not displaying the error-highlight or any typed text.
