No idea. I have used it for about one year on GNOME HEAD without any

[Bug 42544] Re: RFE: include the 'prefer-plain' plugin in evolution

2006-05-03 Thread Victor Osadci
Yes, someone in #evolution said it is demo code. It has some bugs, with some
message type. I must have not received such messages, so it worked for me.

From stock mandriva:
Mandriva Linux release 2006.0 (Official) for i586
Evolution 2.2.3 (2.2.3-10mdk)
plugin Id: org.gnome.evolution.plugin.preferPlain
path: /usr/lib/evolution/2.2/plugins/org-gnome-prefer-plain.eplug

I realise this plugin might not be good enough to ship; still, after switching
from Mandriva to Ubuntu, this is one of the few things that I miss the most.

thumbs for the NEFs have correct orientations, and the JPEG thumbs seem
to not have the orientation tag applied to them.

2008-09-29 Thread Victor Osadci
In the attached screenshot there are 4 files - JPEG and RAW/NEF versions
of two photos.

The RAW ones are oriented correctly and the JPEG are not.

One of the JPEGs is opened in EOG, and is oriented correctly.

I would expect all the images to be oriented similar to the RAW/NEF and
as they display in EOG.

[Bug 213451] Re: AdBlock no longer works

2008-04-07 Thread Victor Osadci
Nicolas, this bug refers to the Epiphany Ad Block extension, not the
Firefox one. Epiphany extensions and Firefox plugins are different and
not compatible.

The Epiphany-extensions package version is the appropriate one for the
installed Epiphany package.

I noticed a few other extensions not working or having strange behaviour
- Page Info, Mouse gestures.

Epiphany has also started crashing a lot after the xulrunner update.

Maybe there were some changes in the mozembeed API that caused this ?

Bruce, do other extensions work for you ?

[Bug 220200] [NEW] frequency scaling panel applet is not drawn correctly at times

2008-04-21 Thread Victor Osadci
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

In the attached screenshot there are two applets side by side.

Sometimes, after login, one of them is not displayed properly.
Otherwise, the applet works OK - tooltip is shown, menus work.

Moving a window over the problem area makes the applet area keep the
image of the window.

[Bug 219371] Re: Image thumbnail not updated on file modification

2008-04-25 Thread Victor Osadci
Pedro, I've removed ~/.thumbnails , and now it works OK, so I'm
wondering what was the cause.

The system was a fresh install of Hardy Alpha, with regular updates and
a clean /home , so no settings from a previous GNOME version.

[Bug 200637] [NEW] Sound Juicer does not work when no network connection is available

2008-03-10 Thread Victor Osadci
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sound-juicer

The setup:
Ubuntu 7.10 on a notebook with NetworkManager installed

To reproduce:
1. Unplug the network cable so that NM sees no network;
2. Insert audio CD;

Result:
SJ tries to get the CD info from the net, which does not fail/time out, so SJ
just waits and does not continue. This wait is accompanied by high CPU usage
which drains the battery.

With file-roller installed actions like selecting directories, moving

[Bug 206118] [NEW] The clock applet shows meetings even if they should be hidden

2008-03-24 Thread Victor Osadci
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

To reproduce:

1. Press the clock in the panel to open the calendar;
2. Collapse the meetings / anniversaries;
3. Close the calendar;
4. Open the calendar

Results:

The meetings and anniversaries are shown but the expander button is
collapsed.

PS: the bug is in intlclock, but launchpad doesn't seem to let me chose
that, so I'm filing this under gnome-panel for now.

[Bug 206612] [NEW] evince is verry slow when resizing

2008-03-25 Thread Victor Osadci
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

When changing magnification, resizing, switching to full-screen, evince

I can always reproduce this when switching to full-screen, but not
always when resizing.

[Bug 42372] Some dialogues take a long time to open

2006-05-01 Thread Victor Osadci
Public bug reported:

Affects: gtk+2.0 (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Some dialogues take a long time (from a few seconds to a minute) to
open. This is not caused by hight load - the system is idle during the
dellay. Apps may also become unresponsive while waiting for the dialogue
to apear.

Having the system monitor applet enabled could help during the
observations.

Apps I can easily reproduce:
Epiphany: Edit - Preferences
Rhythmbox: Edit - Preferences
Gnumeric: Open/Save
gnome-screenshot
Open/Save dialogue in some apps (gedit, epiphany, gimp)

abiword

It seems this happens when there are 'gtk-bookmarks' to (slow) gnome-vfs remote

Apps which do not use gnome-vfs, like abiword, were not afected.

This happens only for gnome-vfs items in gtk-bookmarks; mounted remote servers
that are shown on the desktop and Network do not cause this behaviour.

Seb, if you look at http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18038517/image-

I believe RAW files do have orientation data in them. Opening the RAW

2009-05-14 Thread Victor Osadci
Pedro, what tool do you use to look at the data ?

# exiv2 -p a DSC_3239.NEF | grep Orientation
Exif.Image.Orientation Short 1 left, bottom

For me, opening the NEF from GIMP only brings up UFRaw, which then sends the
image to GIMP with the correct orientation. I have gimp-ufraw, which probably
does this.

Also, considering that the RAW files used to be shown with the correct
orientation some time in the past, I'd say this is a regression.

Scot,
I have tried building gnome-power-manager from trunk, but it has some
dependencies that are not in Ubuntu 9.4.

So, before I go building everything by hand, is there a way to see if
that commit is in the g-power-manager package for Ubuntu 9.4 ?

The commit date is 2007-11-02, so I would asume that it is in 9.4, which
means that it didn't quite fix the bug...

I tried the Karmik Live CD and g-p-m didn't crash ... but it didn't work

The battery level for the phone, as reported by gnome-power-manager, is

phone-manager. If it did, it might crash, or not...

I will try to install Karmic and compile phone-manager and power-manager
