I have it connected to a Thinkpad X200, also with integrated Trackpoint, where horizontal works fine. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1441940] [NEW] Chromium keyring save fail loops until memory exhausted and crashes
Public bug reported: This is collected on 15.04, but also occurred in 14.10 on the same laptop and another AMD custom built desktop. The browsers have three users signed in, but only one active window open and one blank tab. Removing the extensions seemed to have zero impact on the crash. This stall then crash behaviour makes Chromium and Chrome unusable as the program is killed within a few minutes of starting. The following is the terminal output of just launching chromium-browser and letting it sit. The same behaviour also occurs with Google-Chrome as well and does not disappear if the packages are installed and reinstalled. The observed behaviour is upon launch the system loads as expected while watching the system ram allocation the RAM grows then plateaus then while sitting there the window will gray and be non responsive. Then resume to a regular colour while the RAM will grow until the system memory is exhausted. $ chromium-browser ATTENTION: default value of option force_s3tc_enable overridden by environment. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1441193] Re: Login screen crashes after HDMI cable is plugged in, resumed from suspend
** Package changed: lightdm (Ubuntu) = unity-greeter (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to unity-greeter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1441193 Title: Login screen crashes after HDMI cable is plugged in, resumed from suspend Status in unity-greeter package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have a laptop that I connect to an external monitor. After I open the lid and hit a button to wake the computer I will connect the HDMI cable for the monitor. After plugging in the HDMI, the login screen freezes intermittently so I can't type in my password. The mouse is missing and unresponsive and the keyboard doesn't type anything. To fix this I press Ctrl-Alt-F1 and log into the terminal. I then use the command sudo service lightdm restart to restart the window manager. This fixes the login issue, however it also closes all of the open applications that I had on suspend, which is not desirable. Sometimes, after typing in my password once I've restarted lightdm, the display will get locked into a weird refresh state, where the user session doesn't start and the screen is stuck with no window manager, no dash, and the background is partially on both screens. If the computer gets into this weird display mode then the only fix is to reboot. I would like to be able to plug in the HDMI from a sleep and be assured that the computer can recover the running session without crashing the login screen or the display manager. Repro steps: - Close laptop lid to put it to sleep - Connect HDMI cable - Open lid and press button (optionally, open lid then connect cable) Graphics: - Intel HD 4000 Computer: - Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10 Package: lightdm 1.12.3-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.16.0-34.45-generic 3.16.7-ckt8 Uname: Linux 3.16.0-34-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.7-0ubuntu8.2 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Tue Apr 7 07:14:29 2015 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-12-18 (110 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn - Release amd64 (20141022.1) SourcePackage: lightdm UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter/+bug/1441193/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Just some further testing: The checkerboarding doesn't occur when the screens are aligned at the top (in other words, when y=0 for both monitors in .config/monitors.xml) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1440602 Title: Graphics corruption after suspend/resume cycle Status in xserver-xorg-video-ati package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I have observed two forms of graphics corruption after a suspend/resume cycle: 1) Checkerboard artifacts in approximately the top 1/8 to 1/4 of the screen. This can be observed from the following video, where I am highlighting global menu entries with the mouse: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ez2v03oetppecgx/VID_20150324_020612.mp4?dl=0 A similar effect can also be observed while dragging windows around near the top of the screen. 2) The virtual terminals no longer take up the full screen area, and are surrounded by a pattern which appears similar to noise or snow on old TVs. Here's how it appears on my screen: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7hj8qi3w3qc35jb/IMG_20150405_155434.jpg?dl=0 While these two issues seem quite unrelated, they both seem to happen _only_ after a suspend/resume cycle, so the underlying issue might be related between them.
