  Selecting AES-{192,256}-CBC keys to connect isn't working

  * Test case

  1. Start with a working (cleartext or DES-3) private key/cert for a network.  
Set up a connection and verify that everything works.
  2. Re-encrypt the key with AES-256 with this command: "openssl rsa -in 
working-key.pem -out aes-key.pem -aes256" (the output should have a line 
starting with "DEK-Info: AES-256-CBC,")
  3. Delete the settings for the test network and attempt to reconnect using 
the new key. 

  That should work

  * Regression potential

  That's new code for an extra type of keys, it shouldn't impact
  existing options

  --

  NetworkManager does not appear to support private keys encrypted with
  AES.  At the very least, it will not validate such a key in nm-util
  when setting up a WPA 802.1x TLS wifi connection.

I've just tested switching between the nvidia-driver-435 and nvidia-
driver-430 packages and I get the same error with both. I do not get any
problems with  xserver-xorg-vide-nouveau.

Accepted gnome-desktop3 into eoan-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
desktop3/3.34.2-2ubuntu1~19.10.1 in a few hours, and then in the
-proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package.  See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed.  Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,

This isn't just of value to people who happen to have a mouse that's a
bit iffy, who get a bad impression of Ubuntu because the same mouse
works fine on Windows (see bug #1).

It's possibly also of benefit to those who have difficulty with muscle
control, especially the elderly.  Maybe this bug can get a raised
profile if we play the accessibility card?

But most likely what it takes is some capable volunteer to write the
code to fix it and get a patch accepted.  Few of the bugs I've marked as
"me too" ever get fixed by Canonical.

  does this.  I am running Ubuntu 10.04 on a separate PC that does not
  have this mouse problem.  So I am thinking this problem is a System76
  driver issue???

  When I single click the mouse (external USB Mouse - Mouse Pad
  disabled) half the time the system responds as though I have double
  clicked the mouse.  I try 2 different USB mouse units and it still
  does this.  I am running Ubuntu 10.04 on a separate PC that does not
  have this mouse problem.  So I am thinking this problem is a System76
  driver issue???

  It's annoying.  :(

When connecting a paired, or unpaired bluetooth device to my laptop, the
toggle button for enabling a connection for a device, appears to reset
after being clicked as though refusing to connect. After clicking about
4-6 times it will eventually connect. However this user experience seems
rather unpolished and confusing. For clarity, the device eventually
pairs, however it appears to need 4-7 tries of clicking the connection
slider.

This bug is not always reproducible and sometimes the device connects
immediately. I would say however about ~75% of the time the issue occurs
for me.

I am on a thinkpad X1 Carbon 6th gen.

I have attached a 30s screencast to show the issue occurring.

I submitted though the ubuntu-bug cli so i believe the pertinent debug
info will be appended. I can provide more if need be.

I still encounter this error with version 68.2.2 on Ubuntu 18.04.3. I
also have an upgraded system from 16.04 like @grzesiekc. I removed
thunderbird and xul-ext-lightning and then reinstalled.

Can we expedite release of this, and so get the original pulseaudio
update restored quickly?

I just had to help someone force downgrade pulseaudio packages from the
update, as deleting that update that after they had upgraded meant that
when they wanted to install pulseaudio -dev packages, they were
uninstallable.

e.g.

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
libpulse-dev : Depends: libpulse0 (= 1:11.1-1ubuntu7.4) but 1:11.1-1ubuntu7.5 
is to be installed

On my workstation, this happens with fullscreen'd firefox too. Any
fullscreen'd app. So it's not limited to the terminal application.
However, this does not appear to happen on my thinkpad running 19.10. So
I think you're right, it is likely nvidia-specific.

  I like some things like terminal to be fullscreen (F11). I've noticed

I was struggle with the same problem for a several weeks - all urls from snap 
apps were opened in different Firefox instances.
Today I finally figured it out - Open some url from snap app. Navigate this 
instance to `about:profiles` . Make sure that setted as default profile is the 
same as the one when you open Firefox normally. In my case this was 
`default-release` profile. Once you set it as default you are done. All links 
will be opended in your normal Firefox instance.

  Hi,
  I've recently made a clean install of Ubuntu 19.10 (development release) and 
have noticed that whenever I try to open a link from one of the snap apps 
(being it Slack or Skype) the links although opened in the default browser are 
being opened in a separate session of the web browser.

  I am using Firefox and it is installed as a regular deb package
  (default).

  This is wrong and causes issues with history, sessions and settings
  not being shared between these windows. Now I have the default browser
  I use + a separate session for Slack and another one for Skype. Not to
  mention Firefox also acts just like another Slack/Skype window so dash
  displays these as two instances of the same app.

  To reproduce:
  * Install Ubuntu 19.10 (not sure if upgrade from 19.04 would lead to the same 
behaviour).
  * Confirm FFox is installed as a regular deb package.
  * Install I suppose almost any snap app, although I've only reproduced this 
with Slack and Skype and haven't tried to install other apps.

  System monitor also seems to be installed but when trying to open links from 
the about window - translators - individual names, it seems to do nothing.
  On the other hand Gnome calculator which is also installed as a snap package 
opens the link in the about dialog correctly = in my default browser session.

I can reliably observe the issue (the update to version 79 doesn't make
the problem go away).

This appears to be a user-agent related problem: if I use an extension
to spoof Firefox on Windows or Safari on Mac and reload that page, links
are clickable. So this really is a problem on paypal's side, not
something chromium can do anything about.

  All the links are not responding to any clicks. But it works on Windows 
Chrome (auto updated to ver. 79). I've tried to use "reset settings" in 
chrome://settings/reset to disable all extensions, but still the same.
  And enable logging with log-level and enable-logging shows nothing special.

  I also tested on another 18.04 desktop running on physical hardware.
  Results also the same. So I think it is not virtualbox problem.

  Would be glad if any knowledgeable devs knows what's wrong or is it a bug.

  Sometimes, when I turn off the computer, it hangs on the logo. I can
  not turn off the computer using alt + SysRq + REISUO. The light on the
  system unit continues to light, and the fan runs. This is a problem
  with kernel 5.0.0-15, 5.3.

  There is no such problem with the 4.15.0-66, 4.18.0.25 kernel. It
  happens that after 90 seconds it turns off. And with a new core, he
  writes that he will turn off after 90 seconds, but he will not turn
  off.

As of today I haven't found a way to reproduce the problem without
patching /usr/bin/xdg-settings. Even uninstalling all browsers, deleting
the mimeinfo caches, rebooting the (virtual) machine, pretending to be
other desktop environments, xdg-settings always reports that the default
web browser is firefox.desktop. So importance is really very low, and I
don't think this fix should be SRUed.

  microphone seems to be ok. It doesn't matter if I'm watch a video
  through the internet or just playing a audio track from my computer.

Bug description:
  This is a fresh upgrade to raring. During the weekend, I updated from
  precise to quantal, and from there to raring. I did not use sound
  while the system was in quantal, so no idea if the bug was present
  there as well.

  The symptom is:

  * after some period of sound usage, playback stops working

  What I mean with sound usage is:

  I tried having a meeting with: mumble, skype, and google hangout, and
  in all three cases, audio input/outout will work just fine for ~5
  minutes, and the playback just dies (people tell me they keep
  listening to me, so mic works fine).

  The only way to solve this is by rebooting. After one of the reboots,
  I was able to play a 20 minute video with mplayer with no further
  issue. Then opened skype and after ~3-5 minute talk, audio playback
  died again.

  After plugging in headset only headset earphones detected, mic from headset 
not detected and recording is only from built in mic.

  Appending 'options snd-hda-intel model=dell-headset-multi' to
  /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf helps to tell xubuntu that headset mic
  may be plugged, but after plugging in, xubuntu doesn't automaticaly
  detect that mic is plugged, it can see only headset's earphones, so i
  need evreytime in pavucontrol tell xubuntu that mic is plugged in even
  after adding option.

  X-fi PCI-e card seems to be the issue. Hasn't worked since, I believe,
  kernel 3.8.x - sound failed on Ubuntu 14.10 and 15.04.

  Last working config was using 14.04 on, I believe, kernel 3.8.x -
  although Google tells me 14.04.2 used kernel 3.16 ... I vaguely recall
  rolling back to an earlier kernel as a workaround that persisted until
  I recently installed 15.04.

Title:
  [XPS13 9333, Intel Haswell HDMI, Digital Out, HDMI] volume slider

Bug description:
  When starting Ubuntu from boot-up, sometimes the F11 and F12 keys have
  no effect on the sound volume, even though it can be controlled by the
  slider in the Sound window.

  This can often be restored by re-booting the OS.

  When the F11 and F12 keys are working as expected, a "pop" is heard in
  the speakers indicating a change of volume level. The output volume
  slider in the Sound window has the same effect. However, when
  adjusting the volume using the slider in the pull-down menu at the top
  right of the desktop, the sound level is adjusted as seen by the
  slider moving in the Sound window. However, this produces no audible
  "pop" as occurs when the volume level is adjusted by other methods.

  On Ubuntu 18.04, I can't anymore copy a file using the 'cp' command on
  a gvfs smb mount.

  For example, If I try to copy the file test.odp on a SMB shared
  folder, like this:

  cp -v test.odp /run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-
  share:domain=X,server=x,share=xxx,user=x/

  I get the following error:

  cp: cannot fstat '/run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-
  share:domain=X,server=x,share=xxx,user=x//test.odp': Invalid argument

  A file 'test.odp' is created, but with size 0.

  I can delete any file on the shared folder using the 'rm' command.

  If I copy the file using the command 'gio copy', then it works as
  expected.

  This used to work in Ubuntu 16.04.

  Of course, I don't know if the problem is in the gvfs package or in
  some underlying component...

In Ubuntu 18.04.3, gdm3's TimedLogin feature is not working.

Steps to reproduce:

In /etc/gdm3/custom.conf, uncomment these lines

TimedLoginEnable = true
TimedLogin = user1
TimedLoginDelay = 10

and change "user1" to an exiting user name. Reboot. Observe that nothing
happens at all.

Bug description:
  In Ubuntu 18.04.3, gdm3's TimedLogin feature is not working.

  Steps to reproduce:

  In /etc/gdm3/custom.conf, uncomment these lines

  TimedLoginEnable = true
  TimedLogin = user1
  TimedLoginDelay = 10

  and change "user1" to an exiting user name. Reboot. Observe that
  nothing happens at all.

  Syslog has the following errors:
