Although "LLVM ERROR: Cannot select" seems to be from LLVM, I can't
determine what project "fs_variant_partial" is in. Sounds like it
might be in some old version of Mesa? The start of the log suggests
  it's running on focal.

Title:
  NetworkManager connectivity check fails

Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
I randomly receive "No internet connection available" notification,
even if my internet connection is stable. (Not the exact term)

  In /usr/lib/NetworkManager/conf.d/20-connectivity-ubuntu.conf the endpoint
  http://connectivity-check.ubuntu.com./
is used. I manually pinged the endpoint.
I live in europe and the server is located in the US. The latency is about
160ms. Usually I have an approximate latency of 15ms.
It is not a problem of my ISP, I receive this notification on different
locations in Germany and Switzerland.

I propose to use another endpoint or provide another server for the same
endpoint for europe.
So the DNS servers in europe provide the IP of a server located in europe.

The config comes from the package "network-manager-config-
  connectivity-ubuntu" version 1.32.12-0ubuntu1.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1995810] [NEW] occasionally fails to open a directory with images

2022-11-06 Thread Tomislav
Public bug reported:

I open a local dir containing about 100 jpg photos and a subdir.
Nautilus shows a "loading..." indicator in the lower right corner, but
it never shows the contents of the directory.

It should show thumbnails of the files in the directory.

This happens occasionally.

It is very simple to work around - just go to e.g. the parent dir and
come back to the offending dir - but it's still mildly problematic and
nautilus is used by effectively every gnome user.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1995807] [NEW] error interpeting JPEG image file

2022-11-06 Thread Tomislav
Public bug reported:

I have a gallery of photos from a camera. I copy the photos from the
camera to my computer, open the first photo using eog and start
navigating left-right to review photos.

Occasionally, I get an "error interpreting JPEG image file" error, and
in braces the message says "improper call to JPEG library in state 200"
and the photo does not load.

If I move to the next photo and come back to the offending photo, it
loads without issues.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1995704] Re: Huge memory leak when tiling LibreOffice windows in Ubuntu 22.04

2022-11-06 Thread nuri
@ Daniel:

In the past hour I wanted to make a screencast for you to see how the RAM
consumption increase but I didn't find a suitable app to make screencasting on
Wayland!
The embedded screencast (and screenshot) tool of Gnome Shell is working but
parts of the recording are freezed in the final video so... I can not provide a
descriptive video for the moment.

But Rico seems to have find how to reproduce the leak.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1995704] Re: Huge memory leak when tiling LibreOffice windows in Ubuntu 22.04

2022-11-06 Thread Rico Tzschichholz
This is clearly a leak in the gnome-shell process. Comparing the memory
consumption before and after shows a massive increase. Whether this
originates in mutter/mesa/wayland will have to be determined.

It can be reproduced easily while concurrently resizing any tiled
application windows.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1968887] Re: Save As Dialog Box does not get focus in Ubuntu 22.04

2022-11-06 Thread Rob Couch
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1949340 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1949340

So I Hate This Glitch In The Matrix As Well!

Right Click An Image In A Browser, Tap 'V' To Save Image As...

When the Save Dialog Opens I Am Unable To Just Type The Filename I Want.

The Entire Dialog Has No Focus!

Windows Mouse Moron Do Not Understand The Frustration; They Always Use
The Mouse; It Never Occurs To Them There Is A Faster Way Of Getting
Something Done By Using The Keyboard.

I Have Found That After Tapping 'V' If I Shift+Tab Way To Another Window
Then Shift+Tab Back, The Save Dialog Is Now Focused And The Filename
Field Is Also Focused.

Hope That Helps Until Someone Fixes The Broken Interface!

Title:
Save As Dialog Box does not get focus in Ubuntu 22.04

Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When using a browser to right click a file and save as, the save as
window does not get focus, which means you can't just type the name of
the file you want, you have to force focus onto the window to use it
  by clicking it.

This defeats the entire purpose of 2 built in features, 1 being the
pre-selected original file name (since you can't rename until you re-
aquire focus for that window, thereby undoing the pre-selection
programmed in) and 2, the ability to quickly save the file with a
  keystroke.

A side note to this, ubuntu-bug should have an option to report bugs
with other WITHOUT having to specify a package. This is a bug in
ubuntu-bug. Not a feature. Because we don't always know what
package(s) are involved. This needs to be addressed.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1722096] Re: AisleRiot card theme is not branded

2022-11-06 Thread MestreLion
There is another issue besides the SVGZ filename/compression: the card
IDs in the SVG are outdated, and not read by Aisleriot anymore, so it
fails to load even if the file is properly compressed and renamed. There
is a fix in upstream repository for this:

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/aisleriot/-/blob/master/cards/fix-card-
ids.ed

Both issues are still present in latest (0.10) version
