[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1730201] Re: Show Nautilus bookmarks when right clicking on its dock icon
Invalid for ubuntu-dock because it works -- just so long as nautilus is already running or you have 'nautilus --gapplication-service' running in the background. So the main issue is that's no longer running by default. I think it's a matter of opinion as to whether it's worth launching just for the bookmarks or better to not have another process occupying memory just for that. ** Tags added: lunar ** Changed in: gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Invalid ** Also affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Status: New => Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1730201 Title: Show Nautilus bookmarks when right clicking on its dock icon Status in gnome-session package in Ubuntu: Opinion Status in gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Hi… Don't know if it's related to nautilus or dock. ( I'm a little dubious about the details usefulness here, too ) I expected all the bookmarks to be displayed on right click, like in Unity. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1977748] Re: Build Cairo with OpenGL support
I'm going to say no to this because: * Well-written code doesn't need Cairo to use GL to get the best performance. Just don't re-render Cairo parts on important code paths. * Even if there were no known bugs in the GL backend, it would still pose an unnecessary risk to the stability of mature components like GTK and GNOME Shell. Probably more. * You can already build Cairo with OpenGL yourself and use that custom build in your project. ** Changed in: cairo (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to cairo in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1977748 Title: Build Cairo with OpenGL support Status in cairo package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Instructed by "ask a question" I tried to file a wayland-targeted bug, but apport-bug thinks I'm running Xorg. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1977748] Re: Build Cairo with OpenGL support
I remember talking to the GNOME developers about this, I think it was in person at a conference last year. From what I recall, they said the OpenGL backend had issues so there was good reason to leave it disabled. I don't know if it's the same reason as in comment #5, but it probably doesn't matter because: * Apps using Cairo efficiently that keep the Cairo results in an OpenGL texture most of the time already work just fine. It's only the render and upload (glTexImage2D) stages that would be slower with the current CPU rendering but a well-written app will never bottleneck on that. Examples: GTK and GNOME Shell. * If you really need the OpenGL backend for some reason then you can build Cairo within your project and embed it: ./configure --enable-gl=yes --enable-static=yes -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to cairo in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1977748 Title: Build Cairo with OpenGL support Status in cairo package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Instructed by "ask a question" I tried to file a wayland-targeted bug, but apport-bug thinks I'm running Xorg. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 2008655] [NEW] Hissing and high-pitched noises occasionally playing through headphones
Public bug reported: Hissing and high-pitched noises occasionally play through headphones. It happens as a one-off but happens frequently. Sometimes it happens whilst playing audio, but sometimes just after audio plays. It's difficult to reliably reproduce but it happens often. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1930914] Re: ubuntu-minimal depends on ubuntu-advantage-tools
Doesn't really matter as package is installed both ways, only that all dependencies need to be resolved later on. I've tried your method and it suggest to remove ubuntu-desktop-minimal and software-properties-gtk - which is not a solution here. IMHO the software-properties need also seperated version or just removal of the dependency if python code handles this properly. This is due to UbuntuPro tab in this window: ** Attachment added: "software-properties.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-meta/+bug/1930914/+attachment/5650135/+files/software-properties.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-meta in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1930914 Title: ubuntu-minimal depends on ubuntu-advantage-tools Status in ubuntu-meta package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: This is counter to #1566183 There is no reason to enforce desktop users who manage machine on their own to install ubuntu-advantage- tools, especially when this is 'minimal' version.
