[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1675863] Re: Nautilus crash after renaming an ODS file whilst in Filtered view
When this happens, the rename actually succeeded, so I usually just relaunch nautilus and open the file. Having logged this, I was doing some more replication checks, straight after the crash, it was not possible to duplicate, but I really get this a lot. If there are more diagnosis steps I can take to capture more information at the point of crash, let me know (I submitted the data from the Oops window, so any data from there will be 'somewhere') -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1675863 Title: Nautilus crash after renaming an ODS file whilst in Filtered view Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Reproduction steps: Using nautilus, use CTRL-F to filter files viewed (Open Document ods files only) Right click on any file in the filtered view, and rename it and wait (not long). Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 993187] Re: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
For a stable build I had to rollback to 11.10, I can't take the downtime associated with diagnosing this, 12.04 wasn't stable for me, 12.10 didn't cure it either, fingers crossed for 13.04. 11.10 still going strong, not liking my odds for an upgrade... On 1 November 2012 13:30, Rabit rabit o2918...@rtrtr.com wrote: Same thing here too.. Core2Duo Desktop Nvidia 6600GT 2GB Ubuntu 12.04 32bit (always updated) Random crashes almost everyday, often when watching some videos or youtube, but also crashes when I'm not doing any video at all. Yesterday it crashed when I was scrolling some web page on firefox. This morning when I was watching youtube. Seems like random actually. Someday I get by without any crash. It's pathetic really, because I have been a strong supporter of ubuntu, and I've helped installing ubuntu on many friend's and family's computers.. I've always brag how solid and stable ubuntu is. Now I feel really bad for them. Yesterday I decided to upgrade my kernel to 3.4. But no luck. Today it crashes again. When it crashes, the keyboard lights blinking. No mouse or keyboard or ssh or telnet works. It will eventually restart itself after a half a minute or so. -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 Title: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently. Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 993187] Re: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
This thread is so long. Solution is to not use 12.04, rollback to 11.10 and save yourself a bunch of time. I'll give 12.10 a spin, but will be keeping 11.10 on hand if tat still as these problems.
