Please have a look atman jpegtopnm and its options -adobe -notadobe . Those images that require -notadobe are not treated correctly by eog, it looks as if they were negative. Unfortunately, I am not sure whether this problem can be solved algorithmically, i.e. whether a program can reliably determine which CMYK space is used. But at least eog should have a button to select.
