[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1872073] Re: firefox can't access internet after libgd3 update to new version 2.2.5-4ubuntu 0.4 linux mint tricia bionic
It turns out if I turn off the umatrix extension, firefox works again. So must be conflict between umatrix and libgd3. Chromium works fine with all the extensions I have installed. But yes. I have to turn off umatrix extension to use firefox under libgd3. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1714886] Re: gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in meta_window_is_on_primary_monitor()
Well i didnt think of that, so I tried it, too. When I turn off my Display that is connected via Displayport, the Gnomeshell is killed after turning the Screen on again. After turning on the Screen the login-window can be seen. When you log in, its a new Session. That would explain why in Bug #1718671 the session is only crashing after when you want to unlock the Screen, because the Display was turned off after locking the screen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1714886 Title: gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in meta_window_is_on_primary_monitor() Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: This crash appears after login in, when gnome-shell restarts it seems to be stable. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 988251] Re: Nautilus cut, copy, paste, move and rename options are greyed out and stop working
It is not related to permissions nor network shares. I have a folder with some videos recordings. I double click one to open it with VLC, then when I finish I close VLC, now I want to rename the file, the rename item is greyed and unclickable, same happens with copy/paste options, unclickable, but can paste using keyboard shortcuts. This problem came with the Ubuntu 11.10 workstation and has never occurred before. The workstation was upgraded from 10.10 to 11.10 by CD, formatting / (ext4) and leaving Home unformatted (ext4). I am using Unity-2D. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 625284] Re: 5 second delay between print jobs
** Also affects: cups (Debian) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to cups in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/625284 Title: 5 second delay between print jobs Status in “cups” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “cups” package in Debian: New Bug description: Binary package hint: cups In Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04 (CUPS 1.3 and 1.4) when sending multiple print jobs there is a 5 second delay due to CUPS waiting for confirmation that the previous job was completed. This is fine but the documentation says that when using the AppSocket (JetDirect) protocol this behaviour can be disabled by using the 'waiteof' option appended to the device URI: $ lpadmin -p printername -u allow:all -E -v socket://192.168.0.1:9100?waiteof=false This backchannel wait time is supposed to be removed from CUPS version 1.4.4 (Ubuntu 10.10). Would it be possible to backport this change to 9.10 and 10.04? [Desktop-packages] [Bug 914991]
(In reply to Jens Hatlak (:InvisibleSmiley) from comment #84) In any case I'm pretty sure the issue you see is not this bug, so please file a new one (Product MailNews Core), CC me and post the bug number here for reference (I'm not a back-end guy so we'll need help there). Thanks! Hafi filed bug 720199. Continuing discussion there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/914991 Title: Thunderbird sometimes marks whole newsgroups as read Status in Mozilla Thunderbird Mail and News: Fix Released Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I was tracking the upstream bug report #695309 for this issue, which has affected Thunderbird 8.0, the version in Oneiric. The problem has just been patched upstream in trunk and will make it into Thunderbird 12 when that releases (in May, presumably too late for Precise). I filed this bug report to make sure that the change gets noticed and backported to Oneiric post-haste, as it's a pretty major usability failing and there was no bug on LP that was tracking this upstream bug that I could find. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 914991]
(In reply to Hartmut Figge from comment #83) I have just seen something related. The names of the last 6 of my news accounts are changed by inserting multiple times the string 'hafi'. (...) If you rewrite the strings, the issue becomes clearer: hafi news hafi 1.open-news- hafi network.org hafi hafi read hafi .news.telefo hafi nica.de hafi hafi news hafi .alice-dsl.d hafi e hafi hafi free hafi news.netfron hafi t.net hafi hafi news hafi .tota-refugi hafi um.dehafi hafi news hafi .online.de hafi So in between hafis there are parts of certain lengths (4, up to 12, rest) of the old account name, and hafi is both at the beginning and end of all strings. As I already noted on the newsgroups (somewhere...), I've seen this bug years ago but was never able to reproduce it. Thanks to your list of broken strings (heh) I was able to track it down this time: I'm 99% sure nsMsgIncomingServer::OnUserOrHostNameChanged is the culprit. As the name implies, a username or password change triggers a renaming of the account name (prettyName internally): replace all occurrences of old name in the acct name with the new one. It seems the code is not always doing the right thing (maybe if oldName or newName are empty?). Do you remember what exactly you did and what you entered? In any case I'm pretty sure the issue you see is not this bug, so please file a new one (Product MailNews Core), CC me and post the bug number here for reference (I'm not a back-end guy so we'll need help there).
