[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1541245] [NEW] Missing and loose of ethernet e1000 driver in Ubuntu 14.04

2016-02-03 Thread JujuLand
Public bug reported:

I made a fresh install of 14.04 on a Dell XPS-8900 there is about two or three
month.
The driver was missing, and I have installed manually a driver. It has worked,
but with an ennoying problem.

Each time a new Linux version is updated and then the computer is
reboot, driver is lost and must install again.

As it's not my computer, but the one of a friend which doesn't know
about computers, I had to go and reinstall and reboot the machine. I
have made a script which allows the user to do that, but it's really a
pain ...

Is there a way to avoid such things ?

Thanks

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1405988] Re: X don't start after installation of programs

2016-01-31 Thread JujuLand
I'm really sad to say that I haven't anymore this computer which is the one of
my daughter who lives far from me (600 km).
This bug was reported there is more than one year, so I'm not now able to say
how I solved it.

Can my daughter launch this command (I suppose it must send you a report) ?
If I remember, I disabled apport, I suppose she must enable it before
collecting the report ?

  I install Xubuntu 14.04, reboot, update/upgrade.
After, that, i launch a script to install a few programs.
The X-server seems to be break, and at the next start, the server X fails to
load.
I'm able to change the console, connect to my account, and launch the X
server (startx).
All don't work correctly, but the server seems to be correctly launched.

I must say that on another computer with Wubuntu 14.04, but without
  this chipset, it works fine.

I join my script, hoping you're able to find what is wrong. A great
part of the packages are taken in ubuntu (apt-get), a few are located
  locally and installed using gdebi.

I must add that I have tried to truncate my script, with a reboot
between each part, and the problems occurs at different part, without
I'm able to determine which could be the packet which can generate
  such problem.

It seems to come after new linux build, new xorg and new intel driver.

To the question about the package which can bug, I answer 'I don't
know', but it ought to be 'xserver-xorg-video-intel'.

I'm really lost about the cause ...

I'm not able now to test it, sorry ...
But I will try it as faster as I will can ...

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1405988] Re: X don't start after installation of programs

2014-12-28 Thread JujuLand
I decided, even I was sure it wasn't due to my script, to install manually the
packages.
I first install + restart+upgrade+reboot
I then add some sources and I begun to install using apt-get:

___
export USBPath=JUJULAND/InstallAvancée
export MAINTENANCE=alain.aup...@wanadoo.fr
export PROVIDER=smtp.orange.fr
export MYMAIL=jeanpierre.heb...@orange.fr
export PORTCP=22421
export MyPath=/media/$USER/$USBPath
___
sudo apt-get -y install synaptic gdebi gdebi-core
sudo apt-get -y install glabels gnomine
sudo apt-get -y install pdfmod sagasu shutter gnome-schedule

= I try to restart
= the X server doesn't stop
= Ctrl-Alt-F1 = sudo halt -p = ok
When I start, the X session isn't load, and I have a black screen (the problem
I had since I tried with this computer).

I reinstall, and execute all the apt-get and between each, I restart
It works for the first and the second apt-get
The third I launch has just pdfmod and sagasu = ok
I then install the two last packets of the third line separately and it works
fine.

This test I made before truncating my script, and this test seems to
accuse the material or the driver.

Another test I made before consists to install + script + upgrade

After the script run, the problem was herer = halt + ctrl-Alt-F1
When upgrading, I saw this error :

gconftool-2 : 4472)
gconf warning : client failed to connect the DBus daemon
Unable to autolaunch a DBus daemon without a $DISPLAY for X11
As when I done the upgrade, I hadn't launched startx, I'm not sure if it's
important ...

I join a harware report of the machine

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1112918] Re: After uprading from 11.10 to 12.04, no more sound (Sortie factice)

2013-02-15 Thread JujuLand
I have the result of the tests.

1) there is a problem with the pactl list. Here is the error message:

Échec lors de la connexion : Connexion refusée
Échec de pa_context_connect() : Connexion refusée

In the first attachment I sent, there were the result of the command : pactl
list sinks
But I don't think it's exactly what you want as result.

2) pulseaudi seems also to fail, as log file was very small

But after this first test, I have ask my daughter to open sound config,
and the 'sortie factice' was replaced by 'dummy output' which seems to
be the translation of 'sortie factice'.

As I don't see quicly that pactl fails and it seems pulseaudio too, she
launched a few time these commands, and at the end, pulseaudio return
was what I send. I don't know if it's due to the killall command ?

Now, after a test, the sound is gone back again and the sound is heard in
internal speakers and in external speakers when present.
But, in sound config, there is no input and output devices, and impossible to
change the sound level (all is grayed).

Thanks

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1112918] Re: After uprading from 11.10 to 12.04, no more sound (Sortie factice)

2013-02-03 Thread JujuLand
Since I have upgraded a notebook from 11.10 to 12.04.1, no more sound

The card seems not to be detected and we just found a sound device
called 'Sortie factice'

I have tried to launch alsa-info on a notebook and on a desktop, and the
system returns that this command doesn't exist.
