[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1092810] [NEW] USC performance bad
Public bug reported: On my computer the Ubuntu Software Center is far from usable. It takes about 30 seconds until i can something into the search window. In this time, the contents of the GUI are redrawn three times. Installing commercial games like the ones from the Humble Indie Bundles takes a huge amount of time, in which the computer is barely usable at all. After minutes of waiting it is now clear if there is something installed at all. I have to wait for about 30 seconds to get a result from a search while installing any software. The time I have to wait is highest whenever I try to install a downloaded .deb - it often takes minutes even for a small 20kb program. USC is much slower when there are other programs (Firefox, Thunderbird e.g.) running too. CPU is going nuts. I expect the USC to perform as fast a synaptic does when installing software. Not to mention gdebi for pre-downloaded packages. I hope this issue will be resolved in the future. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1017097] Re: Ubuntu does not warn of degraded software raid
-- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1017097 Title: Ubuntu does not warn of degraded software raid Status in “gnome-disk-utility” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I'm using a software raid5 with three disks as /home. Before migrating to a software raid I had faulty hard disks and was warned by a popup after login. Now, using the raid, there is no warning of any degraded status. My expectation is that the system tells me that the raid is degraded. Either by a notification after login or any other means that doesn't involve sending a mail. Actually I don't know if the gnome-disk-utility is the correct package. I don't know either if failure warings of single HDDs work in Ubuntu at all any more. My expertise is from past versions of Ubuntu. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 874073] Re: pop-up notification hides when mouse reaches it
This is actually no bug, it'a feature. These popups are not designed to interact with them, but to just inform you. It's a design decision the Ubuntu guys took which will not be changed. They are designed to not be in the way. This is why the notification hides as soon as you move the mouse over it. You may have noticed that you can interact with anything below the popup. Cheers, Laryllan -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/874073 Title: pop-up notification hides when mouse reaches it Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: A popup notification in the top right shows me a text message someone sent me through one of my empathy accounts. when i mouse up to click on it, hoping it will either make it go away or take me to its master (a more detailed chat window), it instead disappears when my mouse is over where it was, and reappears when my mouse leaves.
