Status in Ubuntu Music App:
  Invalid
Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Expected behaviour:
After disconnecting or powering off an bluetooth audio sink, music should
stop playing.

  What music does:
Shorty after the phone looses the BT connection, the last sond is played on
the phone for about half a second.

  Test case:
  - connect you phone to a bluetooth sink capable of A2DP
  - start listening
  - power down the BT sink
  - audio is played using the phone speaker for a short time

I tested this with two different audio sinks: a car handset and a
  Jawbone Jambox.

I consider this a very unconvenient bug. It's simply annoying.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1273234] Re: [acpi backlight] Can't control screen brightness

2014-03-10 Thread Laryllan
I don't think the display is a non-essential hardware component.
In fact, it is THE most important hardware a laptop/netbook can offer. Or do
you think your computer is usable without a display?

This is a regression to previous Ubuntu releases.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 958389] Re: brightness not work correctly on eee pc

2013-05-20 Thread Laryllan
I have the same problem on an eeePC 1215N, Ubuntu 13.04 32 bits.

I found a workaround to get maximum brightness back:
sudo setpci -s 00:02.0 f4.b=ff

It resets the maximum brightness to maximum.
If it does not work for you, try another PCI device (find the adress with
lspci), like
sudo setpci -s 00:02.1 f4.b=ff

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1092810] [NEW] USC performance bad

2012-12-20 Thread Laryllan
Public bug reported:

On my computer the Ubuntu Software Center is far from usable.

It takes about 30 seconds until i can something into the search window.
In this time, the contents of the GUI are redrawn three times.

Installing commercial games like the ones from the Humble Indie Bundles
takes a huge amount of time, in which the computer is barely usable at
all. After minutes of waiting it is now clear if there is something
installed at all.

I have to wait for about 30 seconds to get a result from a search while
installing any software.

The time I have to wait is highest whenever I try to install a
downloaded .deb - it often takes minutes even for a small 20kb program.

USC is much slower when there are other programs (Firefox, Thunderbird e.g.)
running too.
CPU is going nuts.

I expect the USC to perform as fast a synaptic does when installing software.
Not to mention gdebi for pre-downloaded packages.

I hope this issue will be resolved in the future.

Title:
  USC performance bad

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
On my computer the Ubuntu Software Center is far from usable.

It takes about 30 seconds until i can something into the search window.
In this time, the contents of the GUI are redrawn three times.

Installing commercial games like the ones from the Humble Indie
Bundles takes a huge amount of time, in which the computer is barely
usable at all. After minutes of waiting it is now clear if there is
  something installed at all.

I have to wait for about 30 seconds to get a result from a search
  while installing any software.

The time I have to wait is highest whenever I try to install a
downloaded .deb - it often takes minutes even for a small 20kb
  program.

USC is much slower when there are other programs (Firefox, Thunderbird e.g.)
running too.
  CPU is going nuts.

I expect the USC to perform as fast a synaptic does when installing software.
  Not to mention gdebi for

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1017097] [NEW] Ubuntu does not warn of degraded software raid

2012-06-24 Thread Laryllan
Public bug reported:

I'm using a software raid5 with three disks as /home.

Before migrating to a software raid I had faulty hard disks and was warned by a
popup after login.
Now, using the raid, there is no warning of any degraded status.

My expectation is that the system tells me that the raid is degraded.
Either by a notification after login or any other means that doesn't involve
sending a mail.

Actually I don't know if the gnome-disk-utility is the correct package.
I don't know either if failure warings of single HDDs work in Ubuntu at all any
more.
My expertise is from past versions of Ubuntu.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 874073] Re: pop-up notification hides when mouse reaches it

2011-10-22 Thread Laryllan
This is actually no bug, it'a feature.

These popups are not designed to interact with them, but to just inform you.
It's a design decision the Ubuntu guys took which will not be changed.

They are designed to not be in the way. This is why the notification hides as
soon as you move the mouse over it.
You may have noticed that you can interact with anything below the popup.

Cheers,
Laryllan
