Epiphany (Web) has jerky, unsmooth scrolling

Status in “epiphany-browser” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Install the epiphany-browser package and try scrolling on any webpage.
It's very slow and jerky. Earlier in the Precise release cycle this
regression popped up, but I had not used Epiphany since.

It doesn't matter what driver or desktop environment I use. Exact same
result is with all desktop environments and hardware that I've tried.
This is a relatively recent issue, as it was entirely fine even after
the change to GNOME 3.3.x. I'm entirely sure this is not in any way a
hardware issue. I'll try it out on Fedora 17 (same version) later to
  see if it's Ubuntu-specific.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 920753] [NEW] xchat-gnome has two dots by its launcher icon when minimized, despite only one window being open.

2012-01-23 Thread Newfie
Public bug reported:

Does not happen every time.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Install xchat-gnome
2) Minimize it
3) Two dots to the left of the icon are present, indicating there are two
windows or two entries open.
4) Click the icon. When in foreground, the second dot disappears until
minimized.

Description:

Unless there is a hidden window that I cannot find there is definitely only one
window or item present. The second dot is only present if the program is
minimized.

I've enabled the user list and sidebar. Maybe one of these things is the
problem?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 918072] Re: Selecting other session in login screen doesn't do anything

2012-01-18 Thread Newfie
As I said, this is all from a live session and without much modification
apart from a few added packages such as gnome-shell, ccsm, etc. The
daily build is from January 17th, so it is definitely up to date.

When I log out from the desktop, I am presented with a login screen with
a field that says "Username" to the left (it also says "Ubuntu 11.10 on
the bottom left). I type the live session's username (simply "ubuntu")
and leave the password field blank. Since it's a live session I have not
added any user accounts.

For the last while I've been unable to change sessions from the login

Unity 2d, anything) and log in. It will just log me into a Unity (3d)

I notice that if I select a different session, type the username, and
press enter, the dot is back on the original "Ubuntu" setting instead
of my selected option. It seems like as soon as I press enter that my

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 918071] [NEW] After adjusting mouse acceleration slider, cannot restore original functionality

2012-01-18 Thread Newfie
Public bug reported:

Bit of a vague title.

Adjusting the acceleration slider in the System Settings > Mouse window
slows down the mouse's movement after the slider is dragged back to the
original spot. My mouse was working quite fluidly before adjusting the
slider, but upon putting it back to the original spot (all the way to
the left) the mouse was drastically slowed down. I seem to be unable to
accurately restore the (exact) original functionality of the mouse due
to the fact that the original position was misleading.

This appears to be a regression. It happens on two separate machines
(mouse on one, trackpad on other) and I do not remember this happening
on the previous daily build (January 15th).

If this description is too vague or doesn't make sense, I'll clarify it
upon request.
