Cannot test right now on Ubuntu because I'm on Fedora 27 right now but
there I didn't have to apply any tweaks. The TouchPad is just working fine.
Maybe that's due to different kernel versions?

2018-03-11 Thread Robert Orzanna
Isn't this related to Wayland security feature?

Clipboard content is forgotten if you close the app (in this case the
screenshot tool) before pasting.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1697373] Re: [screensaver] Screen blanks during video playback in Chrome and Firefox under Xwayland

If you go into F11 fullscreen during playback, the screen no longer
blanks. :-)

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1733577] [NEW] Buttons to go right, left, rotate are not well visible

2017-11-21 Thread Robert Orzanna
Public bug reported:

Please see the attached screenshot.

I tested this on 18.04.

In my opinion, the buttons to go right, left or rotate are not well
visible unless you hover over them.

Is this intentional or a bug?

I suggest to increase the contrast on non-hover so that it's more
visible what these buttons do.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1732694] [NEW] Inhibit screensaver when using Google Hangouts

2017-11-16 Thread Robert Orzanna
Public bug reported:

Coming from upstream with the request for more people to test it.

https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=783737

Following are the steps followed to reproduce the issue.

1. Started a Hangouts call in a new browser tab https://hangouts.google.com
2. Didn't move the mouse.
3. Observed that chrome did not dimm out and turn off while being on the
Hangouts call.

I followed those steps and and Chrome/Chromium 62 and 64 it dims the
screen. However, upstream wasn't able to reproduce.

Can someone else help test it and see if it works or not?

Thank you!

  Ubuntu has a patch ( 16_unity_new_documents.patch ) to enable a 'New
Document' function in the right-click context menu. This patch was not
ported to Nautilus 3.20 so this Ubuntu-specific feature is missing in
  Ubuntu 16.10.

While this patch being disabled is noted in the debian/changelog,
here's a formal bug to document the issue and maybe give it a bit more
visibility so that it will be fixed.

  Binary package hint: nautilus

In Nautilus when you have an even number of files on the bottom row it
becomes difficult to rename the last file as the status bar covers the
  text area.

I realize this is likely a rare occurrence, and can be gotten around
by adjusting the width of the window, but it is a minor bug.

  Possible solutions:

Move status bar to the left side when working with files in that
  corner.

Do not show status bar while renaming.

Best IMHO: Give the file area a bottom margin of the height of the
  status bar.

And now it seems that these entries are persistent.

I don't really understand what the underlying issue is.

I will test this for several days more and see if anything changes!

Thanks for all your help so far!

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1607188] [NEW] Unplugging headphones but sound still played through headphones

2016-07-27 Thread Robert Orzanna
Public bug reported:

Dear all,

Sometimes it happens that headphones remain the main output device in
the sound system settings (see attached screenshot) after having
unplugged them from the audio jack port.

The system does not recognise that the headphones are no longer present
and thus does not switch back automatically to play sound through my
Thinkpad X230 laptop speakers.

Can I provide you with any more relevant information to fix this
potential bug?

Thankfully,

~Robert

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1607190] [NEW] Feature request: activate screensaver, keep access to media player hotkeys

2016-07-27 Thread Robert Orzanna
Public bug reported:

Dear all,

Let me share a feature request with you.

Frequently, I start listening to music in Rhythmbox and then use FN + F3
on my keyboard to activate the lockscreen screensaver because it
switches of my screen after a few seconds and thus saves conserves
energy on my laptop.

However, once the screensaver is active, I cannot any longer access my
media player using my hotkeys FN + F10 (backwards), FN + F11
(play/pause) and FN + F12 (forward).

Would it be possible to keep access to these media player hotkeys with
the screensaver lock screen being enabled?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1596338] [NEW] Hardware Connection Switch only disables Bluetooth indicator but not Wi-Fi indicator

2016-06-26 Thread Robert Orzanna
Public bug reported:

Dear all,

I noticed a small inconsistency on my Thinkpad X230 which has a hardware
connection switch to disable my Wi-Fi and my Bluetooth connections.

Once switched, the Bluetooth indicator icon disappears but the Wi-Fi one
remains visible.

This is also demonstrated in this screencast:

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1596339] [NEW] Feature request: Nautilus copy file dialog showing finalising message

2016-06-26 Thread Robert Orzanna
Public bug reported:

Dear all,

I just encountered the following scenario:

I copied a large file in Nautilus. At one point the progress bar showed
"0 seconds left", giving me the impression that it should be done soon.
However, from this point on it took maybe another 3 minutes to finalise
the copy process.

Instead of displaying "0 seconds left", it would be more helpful for the
user if Nautilus showed something like "finalising...". This tells the
user that the process is finishing correctly and that it did not hang or
crash (I was almost about to abort the process because I thought that
this had happened).

What do you think?

Please see the attached screenshot that shows the above described

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 882942] Re: NaCL is missing

2015-11-09 Thread Robert Orzanna
Dear @saiarcot895,

Thanks for your work!

Just to clarify. If I were to install this version, then NACL would work
out of the box. However, Google Account Sync would not be supported out
of the box, correct?

How difficult is the process of adding own API keys?

Thankfully,

What does this mean for the user? Does the user need to do anything

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1501011] [NEW] Chromium not closing properly on shutdown when running in background

2015-09-29 Thread Robert Orzanna
Public bug reported:

Dear all,

Chromium does not close properly on shutdown of an Ubuntu 15.04 session
if Chrome apps are running in the background.

After restart and launch of Chromium, the browser notifies me that
Chromium did not exit properly.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Install a Chrome app that runs in the background, e.g. Google Drive
2. Check "chrome:settings -> Continue running background apps when Chromium is
closed" is enabled

How it should be:

Chromium should properly close with apps running in the background.

Warmly,

Robert

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 847918] Re: Support non native apps: LibreOffice

2015-05-19 Thread Robert Orzanna
I just came across the same problem. I am running elementaryOS where I
missed overlay scrollbars. I installed them and now they appear in all
applications except Libre Office. Is someone currently working on
enabling support for LO?

Thankfully,

Robert

as there is a new implementation in upstream GTK+ (since 3.14)

This is great news! Where can I read more about the exact details of the
implementation?
